Avoid, these guys are absolute crooks.
Been a flight centre customer for a while now, but now stuff them. They are crooks.
My wife and I was due to fly with Qantas to Singapore. It was booked with auntbetty which is a FLT subsidiary.
I knew I was going to cop some cancellation fees. Fair enough if it was couple of hundred bucks. I get it is a commercial business..

Cancellation of International Flights due to the Covid-19 Pandemic
On 14 Mayember 2022, I received a quote from Flight Centre South Brisbane, Level 5 at 275 Grey Street Brisbane QLD 4101. The price for the flight from Brisbane (BNE) to Bremen (BRE Germany) and return was $7.003.76 was for 2 persons, including economy class and premium economy class. The flight was scheduled to fly from BNE on 23 August 2020 and the return flight was scheduled from BRE for 25 September 2020. Not included was advanced seating.

On 26 Mayember 2022, I paid Flight Centre the amount of $192.80 for advanced seating, receipt of which was confirmed on the same day. On 19 March 2020, I cancelled the return flights from BNE to BRE due to the travel ban of 18 March 2020 of the Federal Australian Government that all Australians could not leave the country and we, as foreigners, could not enter Germany and Europe according to advice of the German Consulate General in Sydney. I explained the reasons of the German Consulate General, why we could not enter Germany and Europe, in English. The German Consulate General Sydney advised that "Nobody can predict how the situation will develop until August", the date we were to leave Australia. Flight Centre ignored our reasons for cancelling the flights that we cannot leave Australia and cannot enter Germany and Europe as foreigners due to Covid-19 pandemic. On 20 March 2020, Flight Centre advised, "if you want to cancel the full standard cancellation fees would apply. This means you would forfeit $600 per ticket", meaning that for the two of us, it would be $1,200. I replied on the same day that we would accept their conditions only under duress On 25 March 2020, Smartraveller advised "You should be aware we’re advising all Australians “do not travel” overseas at this time. I ve been a customer for years. During this period and with this craziness I realise how poor the customer service is in this company. There is not a single staff that I talk with and assisted me with genuine advices. I am shocked how these people care of making money for the company and getting their commissions, when people like us are frustrating in order to get a flight back home. They don’t refund, they lie due to uncertainty and they don’t even think twice before they give wrong information!!!!I spoke with 5 different team members (names that I remember: [Names Removed])and each person responded different stuff for the same question I made! Unreasonable refunds waiting periods
I like to point out that the FC employee was very friendly and efficient. However, FC are keeping 5.500$ of my money as a result of Covid 19.
I didn’t cancel by choice Spain close the borders and flights were cancelled.
Credit time allowance was unacceptable in this global health circumstances initially was Dec 20 now is changed to Dec 21 .

Flight Centre - we WILL remember.......
Princess Cruises are refunding our deposit of $949 for a cancelled cruise back in full to Flight Centre. Yet we are being held to ransom to take a Flight Centre credit or lose $600.00 for their “fee”. We have no choice but to take a credit but I absolutely loathe having to use Flight Centre again and never will after the credit is used.
That reputable and trustworthy travel companies are conducting their businesses with integrity and have/are refunding Flight Centre all monies paid by Flight Centre CLIENTS is exemplary and I will book direct in future.
FLIGHT CENTRE’S refusal to act with the same integrity defines it as an organisation.

My flight got canceled due to COVID19
At first no refund - After sitting on a call for 3 hours I go through
A very rude customer service lady -said we refund but charge you $600
take it or leave it !!! it also takes 12 weeks ....
Aunty Betty travel is part of flight center and they are making a profit from COVID19
Even though they got a full refund from Quantos they are not passing this onto customers.
Do not use auty betty or flight center !!!!

Flights cancelled, no refunds, no waivers of fees, no communications, no customer service. No future business, you are a disgrace. Please avoid this crowd for any future travel. Book direct with airlines, book with small independent companies, but avoid these companies who are ripping off everyone at the moment.

Do the right thing Flight centre & Auntbetty
By not refunding Australians their money and only thinking about your commission would cause this company a harm in long term only if they can afford to operate past COVID19.
No one would use Flight centre or their other companies like Auntbetty if they keep operating the way they are right now. Suncorp helped thousands during QLD floods and people remember that, and Suncorp is alway a first option for insurance now. Even Airbnb is helping their customers to get full refund right now as for them customer is everything.

Where is my money
Paid $12000 in flights last August to usa. All my flights were cancelled due to covid19. I can understand a reasonable cancellation fee say $100 for 30 mins of work. Forced cancel 15 March still no refund on 29 S
April. However i contacted American Airlines 3 times this week spoke with different staff all said my money was refunded back to Flight Centre late March. So FC where is my money??
I know my money and others is used to prop up fc bank accounts.
Will never use FC again.

Staff at the Flight Centre are either liers and thiefs or idiots who follow their pathetic managers directives to steal money from their clients whose flights have been cancelled by the airline. There are a lot of smaller operators who are honest with competitive prices. Good buy Flight Centre. There will be a lot of other people I will encourage to join me. Rude disgusting treatment by staff member
Unfortunately my tour got cancelled whilst oversea in March 2020.. This was NOT my cancellation and was totally out of my control. I was told the borders to the country I was in was closing within 2 days and advised by the tour guide to leave asap back to Australia.. Its been over a month of returning I still have not got a proper responce as to my refunds or credits on the flights and told to wait 12 weeks, but just only now informed if I opt for any refund its going to cost me $300 in doing so.. elp and lack of responce given from FC staff!! Whilst overseas my messages were left on death ears by your staff at FC. This resulted in having to pay for another urgent flight to get back home as my hands were tied I could not change my already existing flight paid as only the agent could do so.. This resulted in paying another $1500 on top of $6K already paid.. I have been a loyal customer of FC for over 20 years. I have never experienced such bad and unprofessional treatment by a staff member before that has left me absolutely in disbelief and left me cringing from her rudeness and sarcasim. Flight Centre Cash Grab Gets Horrible
The store manager of Flight Centre maliciously cut communications with us by blocking our face book and messenger cruelly severing the relationship despite us spending significant sums of money over the years with her. Our affected trip was booked with FC Kippa-Ring.
The actions are deplorable and occurred unilaterally after we communicated our dissatisfaction over Flight Centre charging a $300 per head penalty fee for the airlines cancelation of our flights due to covid19.
The managers actions of deleting and blocking us are horrible and as a result we will not be conducting any future business with Flight Centre.
Shame on you for blocking us and shame on Flight Centre for cash grabbing fees on all forced cancelled covid19 travels.

Where is my refund?
Up to 12 weeks to process a refund is unacceptable, cancellations were outside our control and therefore fees
should be waived at this time during COVID-19. There has been no update, no transparency or empathy.

Will never support this business ever again
Flight centre have my well earned money confirmed to be in their bank account and won’t refund my money. I had a written agreement with the captains package of a guaranteed next day business refund and they are in breach of their terms and conditions and change to whatever suits them. I will never recommend or book a trip with this company ever again.

I had to cancel my Italy holiday (departure August 2020) and was very professionally assisted by a FC team member in Perth Office. He obtained guarantees for refunds from Qatar return airfares and my 3 Italy tours.
He then handed over my case file to
FC Garden City, Booragoon, WA where I had originally booked. On 2nd June I went to FC Garden City and signed a form with details of my new Bank Account into which the refund will be paid. I was told it will take 2 weeks to process and get in my Bank Account.
Can someone at FC Centralised Refunds Team reply to let me know how long it will be after lodging my Bank details on 2nd June please? Margaret B.

I cannot help you. My claim was very small was a part of a holiday that we took and returned to Adelaide the day before the borders closed. It is the attitude of the staff at my local Flight Centre in following my claim through that I appreciate. They are all struggling yet their courteous and professional attitude did not waver
We have also had pleasant service from the staff at Doncaster Shoppingtown store. However, the firm’s policy of delaying refunds places their staff in an awful position. I feel sorry for individual staff members who bear the brunt of refusing refunds and who have to cope with client’s disappointment . Despite having had excellent service from staff, we will never deal with FC again due to management policies.
If you call customer service, you get a recorded message telling you that they won’t discuss refunds. So, while they hide behind a recorded message, staff in their agencies are left to refuse refunds and cop any abuse.NOT. IMPRESSIVE !

The only way to get answer on a firm date of refund is to get on a current affair and shame them. It would great to the money back after cancelling 3 months ago, it may even be acceptable to get a firm date. My other idea would be to say I have only a few weeks to live and I need the money to pay for my funeral. However, luckily this not true. Second thoughts this mob would not care if it was true all they are interested is keeping our money for long as possible with lame excuses.

I am very disappointed with their attitude. The hotels which we booked have refunded, in full, our payments. Unfortunately, this money was sent to our booking agent, Flight Centre who were entrusted with the task of forwarding it to us. Up to a six month delay! I am now an ex client!
Did you see Miriam Margolyes program on Tuesday night? Comforting to see the luxurious accommodation of Flight Centre owners. Meantime, we, their unfortunate customers wait for refunds !
