Hi Nic. Ideally within a week, but generally within 2 weeks. It all depends on the specific location and time of year. If it's any longer than this you should have heard from your New Homes Consultant with an update. Hope that helps :)

Hi kangasaris, yes Brisbane Inner City West is a new office that is owned by the director Sam Stankovic. He has a many years of experience operating his own building company Trendbuild and I can personally vouch for his character. He's a great down to earth guy who simply wants to do the right thing by his clients and everyone he works with...and he builds a great home. He's exactly the sort of person I'd want building my own home which is why he is the perfect fit for GJ Gardner. If you haven't yet met him then I'd encourage you to do so and make your own judgement to verify this for yourself.

Hi there,
We understand your concern being a new home buyer - what we would suggest is go in and chat to them, get them to take you to some of the finished homes they've done so you can see for yourself the quality and service they provide and get a first hand experience with them. With the volume of homes they build, they will always be a level of negativity but there is a lot of good reviews too so I personally think they only way to check is to go and look in a finished home they've done recently :)

Hi Viddie,
We would always recommend speaking with the direct franchise you are going to build with but usually, under the building contract the owner is obligated to ensure that, prior to construction, the builder has both water and power on site. The sparkie works with the owner to set their account up with the energy provider during the first few days of the job starting, and we believe the water account gets set up in the client’s name – although we aren't 100% sure, we suspect that’s done automatically during the rates process with QUU. But, don’t pay for water and power during the build process, that’s for the owner to supply.

Thanks for the question. It's true that the Bathurst office closed recently, it's never nice when one of our franchisees have to close. Hi Tony, great question. The supervisors role is a fun one as you have to be both a policeman and a customer service rep all in one.

On the policeman side they are co-ordinating trades and scheduling who is on site which days, making sure each supplier delivers their parts to site on time (not too soon to avoid theft, but on time so to not delay the trades), deal with any delays and reschedule the project timeline, co-ordinate al the site skips/toilets, ensure each trade is doing their full job to the right standards and not leaving a mess.

Then on the customer service side they are the main point of contact with clients throughout the build - providing updates on progress, escorting clients for site visits, dealing with any variations or changes to the original plan. Then once the client takes the keys to their beautiful new home, they then manage any maintenance and punch list items that require touching up or adjusting.

In smaller offices we have just the one supervisor, however in busier offices we may have several supervisors and other staff who assist with various parts of their role.
