Awful experience - Don't waste your time
Worst customer experience! I purchased a chair as a gift for a colleague 3 weeks ago - received the order confirmation, tax invoice and the funds were taken from my account. I arranged a pick-up from the Rhodes store. I then receive a call saying there was a mistake and the chair is no longer available from the Rhodes store. I check online and Tempe has them in stock so I ask the Customer Service Rep to amend my order to a pick-up from Tempe. He checks stock and confirms there are 6 chairs available. He assures me that because this is a manual ...Read more
request and not an online order, my chair will be picked as a priority. He says he will email through the amended pick-up confirmation and that someone will notify me when I can pick up the chair. Days go by without hearing from anyone via email or phone and the chair is now showing as sold out online so I call Customer Service on Monday morning. I'm told that my chair has in fact been picked but for some reason it has not been marked as "ready for pick-up" (annoying, but at least my chair has been put aside). I'm told that I need to wait until the Tempe store opens at 10am and then the After-sales team can release my order for pick-up. At 1pm I receive a call from the Customer Service Rep saying that although the system is indicating that my chair has been picked, it had not, and the chair was now unavailable. It will be months before they get more stock of this chair. She tells me to choose another chair and I tell her they are now all sold out. She then proceeds to check stock of all the chairs while on the phone with me - all sold out, like I said. I ask if I change the order to delivery, when would be the earliest I receive it? She says stock for delivery comes from a separate distribution centre and the delivery would be in 3 weeks. I ask her to change my order to delivery. The gift for my colleague would be late but at least I could tell her it was definitely coming and at this point I only had 3 days to find an alternative present. I'm told by the Customer Service Rep that only her manager can approve the change to delivery so she transfers me to him. When I speak to him, he tells me my chair has been picked at the Tempe store, awaiting pick-up. I ask him if he's certain, as I Iiterally just had the same conversation with his colleague and it was a mistake. He puts me on hold again (at this point I've been on the phone for 1.5hrs) only to come back and repeat the same story his colleague gave me. What a complete waste of 30 mins! Do they not communicate with each other when transferring calls?? I tell him the whole point of me being transferred to him was to approve the change from pick-up to delivery. He puts me on hold again while he checks. He comes back to say their IT Department needs to fix the system as although the website indicates a date for delivery, they don't know when, if ever, the chairs will be stocked again. He says what he can do though, is arrange for a refund. Wow, thanks Captain Obvious! At this point, all up I've spent around 4 hours on the phone and have been told 4 times that I had the chair. I understand that companies are under increased pressure due to high demand so could forgive this happening once or twice even. But four times, and twice within the same call! I'm told that I will receive a $50 voucher by email, a call from his manager the next day and a refund of my funds into my bank account within 3-5 days. That was two weeks ago. No call back, no voucher and I only just received an email overnight saying my refund is now being processed and can take up to 5 days to clear. Ikea is so quick to take your money for goods they don't have and take weeks to refund it. Appalling.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Paypal not supported
Spent ages picking the items I want to buy online then I go to pay and it doesnt give me an option to pay via paypal. 2 Contradicting things on your website. Payment FAQ says I can use it, then checkout says I cant. Come on guys. Pick up your act!

No Sense of Responsibility or Customer Respect
I purchased a Queen size mattress, which turned out to be about as comfortable as a granite slab. Read on the website about the mattress exchange policy available, so I contacted via email to organise this on 2/4. I have since been attempting to converse and organise this with their customer support to no avail; not only have I spoken to a different person in each and every email, but its now 16/4 and I still have not gotten any closer to resolving this. Eventually gave up and called their support number.
I've been advised that if I want to exc...Read more

Too frustrating to complete order
Have tried multiple times to order. Can't get past the Ikea Family number. Rang customer service and they suggested I wait a couple of hours and try again
Waited 10 hours, tried again, same problem! Extremely disappointed and frustrated that the ordering system should be easier and straightforward. Have ordered previously, which was fast and delivery was prompt. Unfortunately will not try again.
The Ikea on line ordering system is too problematic now. Have no idea what has changed, but change it back PLEASE !

Avoid at all costs
Absolutely terrible. Website does not work and also strings you along for weeks and weeks indicating product availability that doesn't exist. Staff also keep this perpetually going by providing wrong information then blaming website errors on coronavirus. Buy elsewhere don't waste your time.

Good Customer Service Experience
I order online shelves and requested home delivery on the wrong date. It was easy to get through to a real person and change the date, I felt like a bit of an idiot but the girl I spoke to was nice about it. I got a delivery window on the morning of the delivery and the order turned up on time.
I'm not a huge fan of the IKEA aesthetic but I'd go back there for online purchases based on this experience. The shelves were as advertised and easy to put together by my self.

Very poor online delivery service for parcels
I placed two orders which were marked one for parcel delivery for two weeks, and the other for 4 weeks. I am still waiting on the first delivery which has run past two weeks, and there is no sight of delivery. Disappointing service, and I would try to avoid IKEA online!

Really bad!! Should have checked here before ordering anything
People warned me but I never listened and ordered few items from their online store. A floor protector and a wardrobe were faulty so I contacted them, sent them pictures. Wardrobe had some shape issues and floor protector had a big scratch. For floor protector, they agreed that it was faulty but for wardrobe they asked me to keep a spirit level at the top and bottom of the wardrobe and send more pictures because they wanted to make sure that it was all built properly. So I sent them the same, the spirit level was perfectly in the middle. But th...Read more
ey came up with another argument that I didn't hook the wardrobe into the wall, that is why it's got shape issues and dismissed my claim. I can't understand how hooking up in the wall can or cannot change the shape? Its made of wood not plastic that you need to hang it up. Moreover, hooking it into the wall is a safety feature so that it doesn't tip over. Overall, they are the worst retailer to deal with so far in Australia. I have rung my credit card provider and raised a dispute with them. They will recover the money now. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This worse services ever!
I have ordered 5 sofas to replace the rooms for our Hotel rooms. On the scheduled delivery day we dumped the old sofas and closed the rooms waiting for the delivery. 9:07 am, I have received a phone call from the driver to confirm the post code with me as I put a wrong post code on my purchasing order but the address were all right. On the end of conversation, I have told he would be arrived about 1 hour. 5pm, when I have been told the delivery guy still not yet arrived, I called the driver, he said he could not make it! Without any communicati...Read more
on and notices! We have to close the rooms again, on second day, I have got a message stated that the items have been delivered on that about 8:30am, but till 1:30pm no one show up, I made another phone to the driver, none picked up the phone, so I called the office, a lady unswered, she said the 5 sofas have been delivered, after I repeated sereval times that I havenot received anything, she checked again and told me the driver must press the wrong button for sending the false information. I explained how urgently I needed the sofa to be delivered to minimize my loss by closing rooms and unable to sale those rooms, this lady said, without paying the second delivery fee, she can't organize another delivery! I can't support this kind of business services. I rather loss more by unable to sale the rooms but no giving them a chance to gain a dollar from this transaction. This kind of business should not survived!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Pay a service fee to drive to THEIR store and collect your online purchase? Seriously?
I had previously ordered for delivery and paid $69 for Sydney delivery ... all worked fine. I then wanted some smaller items but didn't need delivery - so before going to the store, I set up to order online and then use the "click and collect" - assuming this would be same as if I went to a Sydney store and selected the items while there. To my bemusement, for a $55 order, they wanted to add a $20 "service fee" for the privilege of paying in advance and picking the items up at their retail store! What a strange policy to discourage online shopping.

Ridiculous gift card policy
The IKEA gift card cannot be used to make online purchases if you are in SA or WA. How ridiculous is that? What possible reason could they have for this restriction? Does not make sense and very inconvenient!

Absolutely disgraceful
We placed a simple order and Ikea stuffed it up at every turn, from delivery to failing to turn up to assemble. It caused us a lot of undue stress, time and money. Will never buy anything from there again...

Product as expected with good delivery service
We ordered two TORNVIKEN kitchen island tables together with other smaller items online. The delivery came very early at the morning at 9:20 while I was outside. The delivery man quickly rescheduled the time for 2pm at the same day. The staffs were friendly and quick.
The products are easy to assemble without difficult with me and my wife. The wood veneer of the island tables are of high quality and feel good to touch.

Do not use - Worst parcel delivery service ever
After 3 weeks, Some items suddenly out-of-stock. Three days later, promised items not delivered. Out-of-stock Items now discontinued (matching stools to chairs already delivered/assembled) and other items now suddenly out-of-stock and another 4 week wait!!! Four more days for promised items. Original customer service rep was very dodgy and pretty sure he just lied about order status rather than deal with the issue. Ended up cancelling rest of order. Still waiting on confirmation of refund. Left incredibly disappointed, frustrated and sad. Would NEVER shop here again. Dumbfounded by this ridiculous service.

Customer service fail
Purchased couch online. Provided company delivery address (CBD location). No delivery time provided.
Received an email confirmation of delivery 15hrs ahead of a scheduled 7am delivery the next morning.
Called IKEA, spoke to Alysha at HQ to advise that a business cannot take delivery at that time and was told that, as I hadn't provided the requisite min 24hrs notice in order to reschedule the delivery time, they were powerless to change it and that delivery would likely fail and incur an additional delivery fee. Alysha spent more time quoting ...Read more
chapter & verse on company policy and T's & C's than in trying to help find a solution. When I eventually managed to connect with a manager, Damian, the experience was, sadly, not much better. We now have a confirmed delivery going to a CBD building at a time where the building will be locked and, consequently, delivery is guaranteed to fail yet, as with the Titanic, the stink of inevitability hangs heavy in the air. IKEA employee apathy duly noted. Whilst it's common knowledge that IKEA products are cheap, we tend to overlook it and accept it on the basis of convenience and simplicity. Lesson learned. Spring for a better quality product via a company that subscribes to the idea of repeat business.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great product, delivery was not the best but by no means a deal breaker
After reading some shocking reviews, I thought I would try to balance them out a bit!
I ordered 2 large items from the online store. Found the website to be very good. Delivery was available the next day. I found $70 delivery to be a bit steep but I wasn't keen on paying an independent "man and a van" company with my stuff either, so figured it was OK as a one-off. For that price, I would have expected an IKEA delivery truck to arrive and bring my parcels inside. Instead, I had a van from a different company arrive and a quite rude Indian man...Read more
, who couldn't speak very good English, phone and ask me to "come outside". It was amidst an absolute downpour and I had to stand there in the rain, whilst he counted my parcels. He then spent 3 trips, getting my furniture to the house. He was at least thorough in counting the parcels (3 times!) to make sure I had them all. The furniture went together beautifully, however and is of good quality, that will last for years. I am pleased with the purchase but IKEA should definitely have their own delivery service. EDIT: I also went to the Tempe store today (22/09/19) and there is a fully functioning restaurant and cafe (another review said it had disappeared).Similar opinion? Why are you uncontactable?
Sanjaasked
After reading all these bad reviews I wander why IKEA does not change their delivery policies, and particularly their courier Mytoll, which is hopeless? IKEA can make a contract with some other delivery service, for example, Australian Post is absolutely excellent. or anyone else, but not Mytoll.
Does IKEA care about customers' reviews at all? Or is this a strategy to shun customers from ordering online?
Thank you, Sanja
