InsureandGo Australia International Travel Insurance - Gold

This is the first time I have used this company for travel insurance. I took out their most comprehensive policy for our Hawaii holiday planned for June 2020. Obviously COVID put an end to our plans and we managed to get credits for our flights, entertainment and all but one night accommodation booked. Thought rather than claim for this accommodation, I would request a credit for our future trip, however the value of the credit would have amounted to just over a third of what I paid, so I elected to claim for the hotel accommodation, just unde...

After contacting I&G by phone and email without success, i received a full refund of my insurance after initiating a case with AFCA as a 'Goodwill' gesture. I bought my insurance before the Covid outbreak and there was no opportunity for travel. I understand everyones circumstances are different but i suggest going straight to AFCA with this company.

Left on a cruise received email backdated before the cruise date saying Covid 19 a pademic so no coverage?
The question is why didnt they contact before we went interstate on our cruise not gpod value in those circumstances and no offer for a full or partial refund given we paid long before in GOOD FAITH.
Why wait until after the ship sails 27th Jan to find out we had no cover from the 24th January. Not acceptable is it......?

We were offered a credit for a future policy ~ almost 60% less than what we paid! A 20% deduction would be fair. Such tactics cause a "not recommended " response by customers.

I have taken out 22 travel insurance policies (4 for this year) with Insure and Go. Fortunately I have never had to make a claim but believe Insure and Go would do the right thing by me.

Reply from InsureandGo & Tick travel, claim denied as outside cooling off period. Unfair & unjust as we didn't cancel, webjet exclusives did, should get an automatic refund or credit for a future trip

I understand we purchased a contract for specific dates. InsureandGo is running a business-I get that. I unsuccessfully asked for a future credit for when we can reschedule not a refund. The goodwill generated and our future loyalty to the brand in these extraordinary circumstances would have been guaranteed. We are personally seeing generous rescheduling provisions from other ‘non-refundable’ travel arrangers. IAG interestingly have just announced they will refund all their travel insurance policies no longer applicable.

Purchased more than 6 months in advance, Trip cancelled because of current Virus. Full refund from Jetstar ( credit ), full refund from Bris Airport Parking.
Insure and Go will not refund under any circumstances after the 14 day cooling off period. To be fair I have used them in the past and they have provided a service that I was happy with however I now get no coverage. I would have been satisfied with a credit.

I went into your website after a travelling companion had advised that you gave cover for snowmobiling in your Winter Option package. I did not see any reference to not being covered for Coronavirus and took out the cover, only to now be told on enquiring that this is excluded.

I obtained an online quote from I & G which was issued with a promise of the quote being "good for 30 days' which was also confirmed in conversations with their Service Staff.

Sent my claim to the complaints department due to the claims team dragging their feet. Once my claim was sent to complaints it took nearly 3 months to complete as the claim department had not attached all the supporting information I had provided.

Cruised many times but have only found and used 'Insure and Go' travel insurance for this 10 day cruise in November 2022. I purchased the top cover with no waivers only to find that the sunglasses that I had lost on the trip was not covered and the person I spoke to from the insurance company didn't even enquire about the circumstances that led to the loss or even if I had a report, which I did or the value of the sunglasses - just a very plain and abrupt "they are not covered" and "is there anything else", then she said "bye" and ended the interaction. Do not recommend this insurance company, especially when they advertise that the travel insurance covers loss of personal effects and then they do not follow through.

Be aware that "cruise" insurance is not "trip" insurance, this was not clear to me when purchasing the product. In my many years of travelling I've never needed to use insurance, until this last trip when I discovered I wasn't covered.

The information provided regarding Medical premium turned out to be false or misleading at best.
Requested Policy cancellation and e-mail to confirm such. No e-mail forthcoming, hoping full refund turns up in the time promised. Found alternative Insurer with same cover, better / clearer medical policy and lower cost

Recently went on a 28 day tour of China which also included a 4 day Yangtze River cruise. My partner became ill with flu just before the River cruise started and had to seek medical treatment costing around $1800 whilst onboard.
As she had travel insurance with Insure and Go she put in a claim, only to have it rejected as they said she should have took out insurance as though she was going on a cruise and not as a tour even though the cruise content was only for one seventh of the total tour. We were not impressed and would certainly not use them again.
