Totally Unconscionable Conduct
We have used this insurer for many years and most recently I took out a policy in mid-January for travel to USA in mid-April. When the travel ban was introduced I requested cancellation & a refund I too got the "sorry, you're outside the 14 day cooling off period" response. I pointed out that the policy I bought did not cover pre-travel Cancellation risks and so Insure&Go had ZERO risk until I stepped on the plane. That made no difference. I used the analogy that if I took out insurance on a car I was planning buy & then the purchase fell throu...Read more
gh, how could an insurer keep the premium? That made no difference either. I escalated the problem to their Complaints Dept who undertook to provide a response in 15 working days. Having not received a reply in that timeframe I advised that I was taking my complaint to "Stage 2". I'm now up to 28 days with still no response from them. I have also written to Choice Magazine and the State Govt who promote this insurer as part of the Seniors program. I am now only a few days away from the 45 calendar days referred to in the Insurance Code of Conduct when I can refer my case to AFCA (Australian Financial Complaints Authority). Having worked in the insurance industry for 40+ years, I am totally confident that AFCA will not tolerate this totally unconscionable conduct. It's just going to take time but ultimately WE WILL WIN and we will also remember who not to insure with on our next trips!

The most dishonest insurance company ever
They are the most dishonest insurance company I've ever had. I postponed my trip to USA and they refused to change the date of my police. They just took my money like thieves. COVID-19 has been separated the good companies from the crap ones. You should keep using hotels.com, airbnb, Delta airlines, but never ever buy insurance from MAPFRE....

What a Disgrace
I think all the other reviews speak for themselves - can't believe I am being charged insurance for a trip I won't even be going on and given the current circumstances. I am a returning customer and there is no goodwill shown by this company - all I would want is a credit but I can guarantee they will not see another cent of my money. DISGRACEFUL.

I need to change policy dates that’s all They are useless. I told them we had to cancel our trip and to just give us a credit for the insurance to use at a later date when this is all over. These people said no we can’t refund your policy or change the dates. Who the hell says that. I’m takin this further. DO NOT EVER use them!

Terrible. Never use again.
Terrible and almost immoral service response. I asked for a refund or equivalent voucher as my forthcoming trip is cancelled by the unprecedented virus. Thus i was giving more than 3 weeks advance notice. All other components of my trip, ie airfare, accommodation etc were-were either refunded or vouchered in good faith. This company Insure and go however provides nil assistance or consideration.. I had paid $561 for just 2 weeks health cover. Compared to other companies in this predicament, this insureand go company is very poor., and i hadnt even made a claim. Thus, my evaluation of this company is very very poor.

e 14 day cooling off period. In terms of claiming, presuming you purchased your policy before 4:00pm on 31st January, now that the level 4 'do not travel' warning has been announced, you are now eligible to claim for cancellation costs. If you purchased after this, your policy excludes all coronavirus claims. Thanks, AnnaSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

They covered me when I really needed it
A few years back I broke a bone when I was abroad and which required immediate surgery. Insureandgo covered everything and they flew me back home when I was allowed to (took a few months). There was a lot of emailing involved (quick responses and helpful) and I will be forever thankful for the coverage, and that they dealt directly with the hospital. I had to pay very little out of pocket (which was refunded without fuss within a month or so). I had used insureandgo prior but since the positive experience it has been my go-to insurance for all ...Read more

Competitive rates.
I feel the rates are competitive but more importantly, this company honoured in full a claim I made in 2017.
As a result I always use this company when travelling. All good.

Couldn't have had better service
Our trip had to be cancelled last minute due to an unexpected hospitalisation of my husband. From the first contact to the final payment I was kept informed and the process of claiming costs that weren't covered by the travel company was quite easy once I submitted the necessary documents. It is because of this expereince I have now taken out an Annual policy with InsureandGo.

Easy as pie
The policy was excellent value, and didn't take long to set up. This was our first time to use InsureandGo after a recommendation from a friend. I'm so glad we took their advice because it was much easier to set up and saved us quite a bit. We didn't need to make a claim, but felt comfortable that we would be OK if we needed to.

Too expensive for Senior Travellers
The policy was marginal in value and too expensive for Senior Travellers who are in good health.
Easy to set up online. I have used this insurance company 10 times.

For an older person, the price of the policy was very competitive. Completing the medical section for a preexisting condition was straight forward. Very pleased with the policy and the price.

Very competitive rates and easy to use website
I've always found Insure and Go to be competitive on rates and the website is user friendly. I've never made a claim so I hope if I ever do it will be as easy as arranging the cover.
I'd like to see some reward for being a frequent user in the way of a discount.

Fair in assessment of pre-existing medical conditions..
I bought travel insurance from InsureandGo mainly because it fairly considered pre-existing medical conditions by their additional questions on the extent of the condition. I also found the price of the policy reasonable.

Hi Anna, a couple of questions in relation to our 2 month trip to the US. We bought your insurance on 28 Jan (so before the cut-off) & we leave 8 April. Assuming there’s no DFAT alert for the US before we go, are we covered for Corona related medical expenses when we are in the US (I’m assuming we are covered but just want to check)? What happens if we can’t get back for some time due to a Corona related matter (maybe cause we are sick or Oz closes its borders, etc, etc) does the policy automatically extend beyond the anticipated return date? Is there a limitation on this? Thanks in anticipation. Colin

Hi Colin, thanks for reaching out. I can confirm that since your policy was purchased before the 4:00pm 31st January cut off, your polic does not exclude cover for coronavirus related claims. Regarding the cover available if your travel is affected by coronavirus in the ways you have detailed, the information under the heading 'Section C2 - Additional Emergency Expenses', on page 31, of the PDS https://www.insureandgo.com.au/images/ig-ms-pw-ot_tcm1005-157834.pdf (presuming your policy is a one trip policy) is important in your case. The level of benefit varies based on the tier of policy you purchased. I hope this helps. Thanks, Anna
