Hi, I have a everdure heater, 6 tile thats pretty old 20 + years, which I bought new in WA, I think its a crusader but can't be sure but worked fine last winter but this year it starts up perfectly and works but then shuts down after 1 to 3 minutes. We only use it 6 to 8 weeks of the year. can heaters that old be serviced? is it worthwhile?

We have natural gas, so cannot comment on this, all I can say is, we ran one for a short time, before we had gas in the house, and it was quite expensive.

Hi I have a 7 burner everdure brigadier. A couple of the tiles dont light up like the rest. They stay dark with a blue flame traveling up the surface of them.

When my fire went in for service I asked them to swap the end tiles which don't get used very often, to the centre, so the tiles can be swopped around.

Does it click and spark? If not it probably needs a new ignition. Or it's clogged with dust.

My pilot light works on start up - correctly. It is a new pilot light assembly, installed last winter. Everything works fine and then suddenly, the pilot light takes on a bright blue hue at the base of pilot flame, getting a really bright blue compared to the normal steady blue flame - starts flickering and then switches unit off. The initial start up and operation can run for 10/20 minutes - and then this change to the pilot light intensity starts without any obvious change in operation. I have thoroughly cleaned the unit, the pilot light valve is free and emits the gas perfectly until this sudden change. I suspect the control switches are effecting the operation some how. Advice please. Brigadier 25 MJ.
