Not so Cool

published

We purchased a Panasonic split A/C recently as it was recommended to us by our installer. the unit looks good and seem to work quietly but the air temp does not seem cold enough? I rang Panasonic and they said if they send a technician and he says its ok a service charge will apply.

Blessings from Panasonic

published

Panasonic might not be top of the leader board but after a year with it I have to say it beats the daikin it replaced and the mitsubishi from our previous place. It cools the place down much faster and our electricity bill has not sky rocketed. Our house is much the same size as our previous one and the mitsubishi was the same size but our power bill is 25%+ less. The Daikin was in this house (4 years old) we replaced it as was more down and needing a tech visit than any unit should be after 4 years.

Best advise I got was from the tech who installs all the main brands was simple. I have a panasonic its my prefered brand.

We have had this air conditioner for almost 5 days now and I couldn't live without it. I read the book and they said energy saving 26 degrees you know my husband laughed at me he put it onto 16 degrees we were frozen . We ended up on 25 degrees and it was comfortable cool enough where we aren't frozen and super quite love this product awesome.

Great unit. Heats up my house quickly without needing to be on high fan.
Is relatively quiet but makes a clicking sound at times when the fins move.
Have not tried cooling function yet but main purpose for buying was for heating.
Has a remote so is easy to contol. Remote does not show actual room temperature which would have been a good addition.

A Life Saver!

published

This brilliant unit saved our sanity, if not our lives, in summer (and with just a few minutes of warmed air puffed around the room, winter was no problem at all!) I don't understand the technicalities of how it uses so much less electricity compared to our old one but OMG we could never function normally in the dreadful weather we will all now be enduring .......

Quiet~

published

I bought this unit last year Summer times and I am quiet happy with it. It is quiet to use at night time and the best thing about it is that, the unit can have a senor that can detect how many people is in the room and adjust the temperature accordingly. This is cost and energy efficiency. I definitely recommend this air-con unit.

An excellent unit. Quiet and efficient.

published

We bought our unit based on customer reviews and previous experience with this brand.
Cooling and heating cycles are brilliant and the unit is extremely quiet. Best of all it is extremely economical to run in both cold and hot modes, thanks to the new R32 gas used in the unit.
The remote offers a lot of options including both quiet and powerful modes, plus the usual options. There is even a set-and-forget option so the AC does all the work for you.
Back to back installation was fairly straight forward.
We were so impressed with our first unit that we bought a second one a week later for our bedroom.

Very good so far...

published

Purchased in July 2017 at The Good Guys, delivery was quick and installation was fast and smooth. Very professional! Excellent heating performance, can't say anything about the cooling performance since the temperatures here are still low.
Very quiet too, remote is a bit confusing at first, but after having read the manual...all clear!
Very happy so far, let's see how it performs in summer...

Fantastic air con!!!

published

The unit is great in winter, heats my house up really well & quickly. Summer does struggle a little once temp is above 30 degrees - as to be expected.
If the unit is turned down to 22/24 it works fine, but will struggle any lower in summer scrotch's.

Not overly loud, unless it is working hard to cool the house down.

Very happy. Would purchase another one.

Installation was smooth & easy! quick job was done.

The unit/remote is very easy to use & i love the econavi function, when noone is in the room.

It is a not real....

Hello, I purchased this air con unit 31/8/2017 and finally have arranged someone installed today (28/9/2017). The installer team is very friendly and efficient, when they called me back into the apartment for a test run. It was shocking we had it test run for 10 mins in front of us, and the internal unit burst with a big loud sound. It was found a coil pipe burst with a hole on the joint.....leak my compressor air from the internal unit. It is my first day on this unit, and now I have to call Panasonic for a repair, they routed me to a local WA repair, and no one really answered the phone so i have to call and email them ....wait to see how long they will have the repair to attend my request.

Hasn't missed a beat

published

Had this aircon installed 5 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat. Was installed in a very big room and it copes fine. A little noisy on the highest fan settings but once the room cools it can be turned down to suit. If I had my time over I'd look at a Mitsibushi next time as I was in a holiday home with one which was near silent.

No noise running

published

I live this aircon as it is a inverter unit. Don't use much electricity at all. My 13 year old son has dust allergies and with the built in air purifier he had no problems. It get the house cool in summer and warm in winter. Way cheaper to run than a gas heater. With the remote controlled and timer one has to do little to be really comfertable. I can recomend this aircon to anyone.

ECONAVI Reverse Cycle Inverter RKR Series

Hello, I have the Z12RKR and the Z09RKR installed in the kids bedrooms 3 years ago. The first nights we used them they would not cool consistently. It would start off at a correct temp, then warm up over the night. We followed the instructions carefully. They were on cool mode, econavi off and fan on auto. After trying multiple combinations we were never able to get the rooms to stay at a constant temp. We rang the installer who advised that we shouldn't use auto, as it doesn't keep the room consistency cool, but to use a low fan setting. Which we have been successfully using since.

The other day I was cleaning the filters and noticed huge amounts of mould growing inside the unit. The last clean and service was conducted 15 months ago. I rang the installer who stated using low fan settings typically contributes to mould growing, and seemed to think it just needed a clean and service.

I feel like this is a no win situation if I follow what has been advised. What settings should I realistically be using to keep the unit clean and actually cooling at night? Has anyone else encountered this?
I feel auto at night should work when econovi is off?

I understand all units need regular servicing. However I cannot believe this amount of mould would grow in such a short amount of time unless something is wrong. None of our other brand of air conditioners we have purchased in our properties over the years have behaved like this. Thank-you.

Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic

Hi Shotang, thank you for your query. Mould build up is due to the environment. Running the unit on any particular mode will not add to this or remove it. We would recommend frequent cleaning of the filters, but also of the whole unit.
Auto will detect the temperature and the unit will ramp down accordingly, and when the temperature rises, turn back on. This is why it would have been suggested to use the product in manual mode, to have the unit consistently running the whole night.

We would recommend at the end of each summer running the unit on a heating cycle (if it isn't used on heat in winter) to dry up any stored moisture within the unit.

Can you please advise what is the highest possible level this unit may be installed on the the wall? ie. What is the necessary clearance from the top of the unit to the ceiling? As I've noticed the unit expands outwards (not so, much upwards) during operation

thanks

This is a question for the installer or electrician but mine is installed quite high up with about a open hand space to the ceiling. I was told this will be ok and I hope it doesn’t cause any issue down the track.

Thanks, is that for this same Fujitsu designer model? When it operates, the front panel extends forwards and up. Is your hand distance enough for this?
