My cruise just got cancelled that was leaving from Sydney on Monday. How do I go getting a refund on flights, parking, accommodation and the cruise? I have been tryin to call, but the line is busy (understandable)

I assume you have tried to cancel all that you can. If not then do that to try and reduce your losses. Being proactive should help with your insurance claim.
1. For the cruise it might depend on where it was going and which line. Cruise companies usually have an info page with cruises news/changes/cancellations/etc. Here is Princess cruises site (if it applies to you): https://www.princess.com/news/notices_and_advisories/ (they have a voluntary pause in cruises for 60 days from 12/3/2020. Maybe others do too).
2. For flights, you might be able to cancel for a smaller fee, depending on what type of fare you bought.
3. For parking, if its at Sydney airport you can usually cancel as long as its a couple of days out, not sure about other facilities.
4. For accommodation, hopefully it is refundable. Otherwise, cancelling may incur a fee of the first night. Any after cruise accommodation should be cancelled, assuming you will not use it.
For claiming, if you have Woolworth's travel insurance you can lodge a claim online and you should be able to do this with other insurers. Check the website for the company you insured through. However, you can only claim if you have a "cancel for any reason" option or your policy includes epidemic/pandemic inclusion. (Woolworth's travel insurance excludes these so won't pay if that is the reason you cancelled). It is still worth claiming as they may make an ex-Gratia payment (but this also depends on their good will and how early you took the insurance out)

Update. Just noticed you indicated your cruise was cancelled. If that was by the cruise line then they should refund you but if you cancelled then probably not

I do not understand why you cannot cancel my insurance when the airlines canceled the trip to China could have charged the cancellation fee but I only asked them to cancel the insurance and they do not answer my husband called 3 weeks ago and still nothing the group that was traveling with us took out other insurance and immediately returned the money TRVC 2001363291708

How do I get in contact with emergency assistance if I am overseas?

Steve within your insurance policy there is a 24 hour emergency number that you should enter into your mobile phone. If an accident occurs then use that number and you will be assisted from that point. I know we were greatly assisted and from the point of contact the stress levels really subsided.

I am thinking of taking out a Woolworths travel insurance policy for an upcoming trip to Thailand.

I will be departing on 20 Mayember 2022 at which time I will be 79yrs and 11months old.
Can I take out a policy ? (Refer PDS page 11 "...Cover not available for travelers more than 79 years old (at the time of Policy purchase)......" )

You should be okay because you will not have turned 80. Even at 79 & 11 months you are still in your 79th year. I found there price reasonable although when I made a claim for purse stolen they were slow and it took 3 emails which they claimed 2 weren't received even though they were all to the same address. But overall it was okay.

Can i get annual cover for multiple trips (3) and we are 77 and 73

I don't believe there was an option for multiple trips. I took out the comprehensive insurance and it was reasonably priced compared to some others I looked at. I was robbed by pickpockets and on my return I made a claim. I lost my purse and cash and whilst the claim process was easy and done online, communication was not quite so easy. After hearing nothing about my claim I send 2 emails. I received no answers to two emails sent a week apart, but eventually received an answer to my third advising they had not received the previous two. But if they received my third I cannot see why they did not received the previous two. My claim was paid for the lost money and purse. But the lost cash limit was $250 which is not much when you consider the value of the Australian $. I had about 320 pounds and 130 Euros stolen which is close to $900 and a colorado purse which cost $70 stolen, and only received a claim amount of $200.54 I suggest you look at some others who have multiple trips and compare what you pay to what you may. My sister used NRMA and was happy with them. Of course when over 70 you pay more

In order to purchase a Multi-Trip Insurance Policy we do require our customers to be below the age of 75. However this does not mean we cannot cover you for single destination policies!

However, it is important that you specify the right destination when you purchase the policy.

I'm off for 2 years to Canada on a working visa. I'm required to present two year's worth of travel insurance at the border upon first arriving - I've bought one year with Woolworths, and want to buy a policy from November 2020 to November 2021. Is it possible to do this? The online quote system only allows for the next year.

most travel insurances are not for working situations (read all PDS carefully) .. perhaps buy your insurance from a Canadian insurer.

Dear Khanh T, Under Annual Multi-Trip Policy the maximum period
for anyone's Journey is 30 days. You can make as many
Journeys as You wish during the Period of Insurance
but You must not be away from Australia for more
then 30 days during any one Journey. All of our policies cover cruises.

Would like a woolworths rep. To answer my questions please:

In woolworths general exclusions section pg.30 no.14 mass media/govt warning - I asked woolworths if I listened to such a warning and cancelled my trip (did not go) would I be reimbursed for the full cost of over $15,000 (my son and me). They refused to give me an any advice saying that I have to make up my own mind about these things. Can you please give me some helpful advice about this and no.15

No.18 search & rescue costs woolworths say they wont pay these - then who will pay for this??? Would countries like peru, argentina and brazil cover these???

Pg. 31 talks about if you have needed any treatment or prescribed medication 90 days before start of policy (which I was forced to buy on 4/6/19 to cover all my airfares/tours paid). When I tried getting some answers from woolworths insurance I told them I was down with the flu and on medication (antibiotics) and asked whether this would mean that I would not get paid cancellation & amendment costs if closer to date of travel I again developed the flu??? Was told that this was a pre existing ailment - which I cannot believe is true, as the flu can come and go at any time - unlike the osteoporosis that I honestly declared I have and which I will be insured for. Nobody can prevent getting the flu. I have taken the flu vaccine and still got it. The flu cannot be deemed a pre existing ailment that customers miss out on a genuine claim. Clarify this please

Section 4 - additional expenses page 23 (top of page) - most we will pay will be $3000 - does this $3000 apply to the whole of this section or to just one particular point???? Help please
