Comprehensive Plan, Domestic Plan, Multi-Trip Plan, etc...Hugely expensive!
We needed an extension to our travel insurance policy which we had taken out prior to leaving Australia and we could only do it on the day our original travel insurance expired which was stressful waiting to call from Europe on that day particularly because of the time difference.
It cost us a whooping $264 for 10 days in Europe and our excess was $200! Luckily for us we didn't need to make a claim but as we had no other option for travel insurance as we were already overseas.

Appears to be a good cover
Did not have a claim but the Company has a good payout record (Choice). The cover was easy to set up but their pre existing Medical conditions have strict guidelines going back ten years. The cost of my pre existing conditions cost more than my insurance.

Worldcare Insurance review.
It was good value. I would recommend this company.
I did have to lodge a claim. It was the first time that I have ever had to lodge a claim. It was accepted within days and the funds appeared in my account within a week from the time of the claim.
This was the first time that I have used this Worldcare Insurance company.

Happy
We thankfully didn't need to lodge a claim so cannot comment in that respect hence the 4 rating. We were very happy with the cover and found it very reasonably priced when compared to other travel insurances. Appreciated the " travel tips and don't forget" email just before we left too. Made it a bit more personal.

Worry Free
We researched lots of companies products but came back to Worldcare as they offer the best deal in our opinion. We thankfully never had to claim but the piece of mind we were covered was enough. Even though we compare others we still come back to you guys. Next time we feel there will be no hesitation in signing up again.

Good for Oldies
Fortunately didn't have to claim, we would use Worldcare if going on another holiday. Good value for seniors in their 80's as travel insurance very expensive for oldies. Thank you.

Costs vs Age
Most people don't get the chance to travel overseas until they have retired. By that time they will most probably fall into the age group that attracts an age based levy on their insurance premium. For example a couple aged 32 and 40 travelling to Vanuatu for 1 week in December 2022 will be quoted $93.66 for Comprehensive Duo cover. However a couple aged 71, 79 will be quoted $244.91 for the same cover. As we are a couple aged 71, 79 the "value for money" component no longer exists with us.
We have used Worldcare Travel Insurance probably more than 20 occasions for overseas travel and maybe 5 to 10 times for travel in Australia. We have not had any need to lodge a claim.

No problems
Easy to arrange and easy to extend after original travel plan changed. As there were no issues during the trip it is not possible to comment on whether ‘after care’ is effective. I would try this product again.

Any chance of having a multiple travel insurance plan for someone below the age of 78?
Being a frequent traveler, I was sent an email that a Multiple Travel Insurance Plan is the way to go about it. However, when I rang up but was told that I was not eligible because I was 76. As I travel overseas 4-6 times annually, I find it a hassle having to answer all the questions each time I want a travel insurance. I have been using your company for the past 3-4 years and happy with the services I received.

Travel Insurance for 70yrs+
There were some inconsistencies in the health questions which took up a little time. Overlapping areas ditto for some health concerns. Compared to other insurers it represented good value. I looked at "Choice" for guidance. We had no claims. This is the first time that we have used this Insurer. All processes were completed on-line.

Low cost for cover
Whilst we did not make a claim, the product was the best for cover and price. This is the second time we have used this travel cover. Both times was the lowest cost for highest cover.

Reasonable price for comprehensive cover and peace of mind. Easy to set up and understand the cover/policy. I did not need to claim, so I have no experience/comment on that process.

Did not need to use but nice to know it was there
Took out the Policy as the company agreed to cover my travel in Iran. I did not need to use the policy. But for peace of mind it was there. Thus cannot comment on any claims experience. Whilst I was overseas, I decided also to go to Lebanon and without any fuss it was included in the policy very quickly.

Not worth the money
Turned out to be very expensive, not sure if it was age related, but our daughter managed to get a quote, 1 week less but 1/5 of the price.
Didn’t cover our needs, would have liked to have extended our stay due to family illness but insurance didn’t cover the cost to change the flights.
Not sure if I have used it beforehand.

Questions & Answers
Heinrich B.asked
I took out a policy to travel to Japan. I am now not going. There seems to be no way to actually cancel the insurance? Or at least I could not find a way. Should be clear - no travel, refund the insurance premium?

G Griffinasked
Hi, if the Australian Government or other official authority issues a Do Not Travel warning to the specific region or country I am booked to travel to, and that warning is given after I purchase your travel insurance policy and after I book my travel arrangements (flights and accommodation), would you cover me for cancellation of my trip? Kind regards, Gillian

I had the same issue and rang them directly (as suggest by them below) and got a detailed answer rather than ask in a review site.

If my trip gets cancelled due to the coronavirus will I receive a full refund?

You need to ring WTI & talk to them about your specific circumstances. Don’t assume anything. It’s likely your conversation will be recorded for future reference if needed, for both parties benefits.
