Poor customer service experience
My wife purchased her bike at 99 bikes years ago, so went back when she wanted a kids seat for our baby to ride with her. After showing a staff member photos of her bike, she was sold the wrong model rack for her bike, which didnt fit. I took it back and exchanged it for another model. I still couldn't get it to fit after following the instructions, so took it back again. After waiting 25mins to see a staff member, I was told that "they fit every bike". When I asked if they could show me how to fit it correctly, I was told "not today mate". The...Read more
staff member actually suggested trying using one fastener instead of two (as per the instructions) on the under seat brackets to increase their effective length. I was then directed around to the mechanic, who was also quite dismissive "you just have to try different combinations of brackets to get it to fit, good luck". His tone was condescending. I ended up getting the baby seat rack to fit the bike only after using a combination of parts that went against what the instrruction booklet said (the mechanic's suggestion). Rubbish
I waited to receive some customer service. Another bloke rolls in his bike and the staff member looks at me and gives a halfhearted apology and bolted to the bike guy. Went to a competitor, a few doors down, and walked away happy as a pig in poo

Very Helpful and Friendly Staff.
Needed a replacement Topeak mount for my front mudguards and was advised to go to 99 Bikes. My local is Ipswich and I was very happy with the service given to firstly locate the necessary part and then to place an order for one. Part arrived instore in 4 days and I was contacted on the day it arrived.
Needless to say I continue to go back to my Ipswich store as I keep getting top quality service.

Great Service, Passionate Bike Mechanics
The staff at Burleigh store have great customer service skills, always greeting customers when stepping foot in the store. Ask away, any questions are answered. They have excellent insight and experience when providing great tips and tricks on maintaing your new bike, No fee membership with discounts on parts and they sign you up on the spot when you purchase a new bike. They also include a free service which can be claimed within 30 days.

An abusing mechanic
An abusing mechanic. I told them i wanted to buy a new bike instead of spending $200on a repair and i would be in.came to pick up the bike and he abused me. The other colleague pushed him to the back away as he kept telling me i was not a customer because i didnt want this bike fixed. Service customers be warned!!!!!

Poor service
I called the Underwood store to book in a service on 13 December 2022 on three occasions and their phone was disconnected. I then called the head office and told them about the disconnected phone and they told me someone would call me back from the store. I received no call back. When I got home I received an email instead of a call. I thought that a large business would have an alternative line or mobile phone to contact customers, but they obviously did not so I decided to call back later. I called them yesterday and the phone is working but is not being answered. I am now looking for a bike shop that offers a more responsive service to it's customers.

Excellent service
Had spokes replaced on two wheels at the Everton Park store.
Staff were extremely friendly and they were very efficient in carrying out repairs in minimal time allowing me to maintain my daily riding routine.
I was very impressed considering their busy schedule in leading into the Christmas period.

Do not buy a Pedal bike
If you are looking for an entry level bike you might want to give the Pedal brand, exclusively at 99 Bikes, a wide berth. Cheap parts that dont hold up under pressure, I managed to buckle the crank by simply peddling up a small hill. Now I have got a cracked rib to nurse during the Christmas break. Oh, what a gift...

Feed misinformation
After experiencing problems with tyre deflating over time, returned to store, and tyre inflated again at no charge.
Within one week tyre deflated again.
Went into store today asking to buy new valve and valve tool.
Advised by shop assistant that he did not have in stock and would order in.
I decided to go to Lutwyche store and told they do not sell valves.
I was advised that I would need a new tube.
When I advised shop assistant of comments from other store I was told he didnt know what he was talking about

The customer assistance provided form 99bikes Browns plains store was outstanding,
I highly recommend 99bikes, as they have the best bikes and parts. I always chose this store because the customer assistance is outstanding. All my bikes have a bit of their produced parts, also I like home grown brand " PEDAL " Brisbane's bike company owned by 99bikes.

Went to buy an e bike for my wife. The assistance and product knowledge and female perspective was very helpful to her. Good price and have confidence we made the right buy given the help with sizing and fit for purpose of the final choice.

Service received when Tacx trainer gave trouble
My Tacx Flux trainer was making strange noises and I took it into 99 Bikes at Capalaba. The sent it away and had it replaced with a brand new one. They removed the cassette and quick release before sending it and returned same to me once the product had arrived.

Honest and Professional Service with bike repairs.
Given my experience with David, he is an honest and dependable bike mechanic who won’t rip you off! I know zilch about bikes and bought a bike thinking it only had, minor problems. David told me the bad news about numerous things needing to be fixed, but I decided I didn’t want to overcapitalise, given the bike was second hand.

99 bikes lie about having price matching policy then refuse to price match.
I went to 99 bikes Elizabeth st Brisbane city to buy a ninebot es4 electric scooter. I went there because they had a finance option but there was another shop advertising the ES4 over $100 cheaper. I asked in store if they had a price matching policy, the guy said sometimes but not this time, he said the other store was too cheap and they couldn't match the price. 99 bikes sold me the scooter for just over $100 more than the competitors advertised price.

ch they do. So I filled out the online price matching form. Here is the thing, an ES4 is just an ES2 AND an external battery. There is no scooter that comes in a box that says ES4. When I got my ES4 99 bikes billed it as an ES2 and an extra battery. 99 bikes refused to price match because they say I didn't buy an ES4 as my receipt says ES2! so sneaky. At every turn they just tried to close out my request for price match. So I filled out a new price match request, this time for an ES2 as the competitors shop also sells the ES2 for over $100 less than 99 bikes. Now 99 bikes are ignoring the ES2 price matching request. 99 bikes is the most unethical bike store I have ever dealt with. They lied to me in store about having a price matching policy then they gave me the run around through their website, trying to close my request and any available chance. Brakes Don’t Work Despite Several Attempts By Their Mechanic
1) Bought new bike and took it home.
2) The brakes locked up so I drove it all the way back to the shop.
3) Left bike with them for repair.
4) Drove all the way back to pick it up and took it home.
5) The brakes locked up again. Drove it all the way back to the shop and left for repair.
6) Drove back to the shop and picked it up and took it home.
7) Brakes locked up again. Drove it all the way back to the shop. This time I waited.
8) Got the bike home and what do you think happened?
9) Drove it back to the shop and I waited again so I didn’t have to drive back and pick it up. The mechanic did a full brake service that usually costs around $50.

Good bike, excellent service
Bought a Merida 20D from 99 bikes at North Lakes. Excellent customer service, explained the bike, rode the bike, follow up service the bike. All staff knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Compared with another bike shop where the young attendant had no idea of what he was talking about and offered no service.

Great service and passion
Well known Brisbane shop attendants with great knowledge and history owning and running previous bike shops. They seem to have the answer for every one of my questions from bike tyres to decals for wheels. Also happy to send you to another shop when they don’t have the best item

Very average experience for such a big purchase.
Purchased 2 new E-bikes totaling $7000
Also purchased $1000 worth of accessories.
From the start we found the staff were lacking knowledge in various departments including gear and the bikes themselves.
For example, I asked about a product (pump) that can do both tyres and shock absorbers to be told by ALL the staff including their head mechanic that it doesn’t exist. So I purchased one pump for each.
Got home and looked online to find they sell exactly the pump I was asking about.
