Hi I just moved into a place and I don't know how to turn the heater on. I flicked the 2 switches and pushed the little red button and nothing

Hi Give Archer a call in Melbourne they are helpful ... if your power was disconnected it can cause the control to need to be reset which is easy ... but easy start
1. make sure the red button is off and both switches are off
2. Push the right hand switch to the on position (this switch on only first as two switches on at same time will blow the gas out)
3. Wait 3 minutes until one burner is fully lit
4. Push the other switch on
5. Wait 3 minutes heater should be fully lit
6 push in red button as this will keep heater going and not cut out when the room it hits a certain temperature
Hello, check power is turned on at the wall plug, should be a small red pilot light on the control panel. Find the remote control unit and press the Mode button to ON THERMO this will control the fire to the set temperature. Takes a little while to go through the start up. but you should hear fan noises straight away. Cheers.

my F100 fire won't start because the flue light goes out. cleaned the flue pipe.I can't get anyone to fix it.
I live near Ulladulla. Can anyone help.before I put a brick though it.

Hi there, Usually it is the flue pipe but it could also be your flue fan. Things can get inside the pipe and build nests in the fan which in turn will stop it working. You will need to get into the back of the heater to access the fan. Please give us a call if this does not help, or email your details so we can communicate further. 0397958895 Regards Lee
This could also be a fault with the pressure switch. It has a micro switch that works off a diaphragm that senses low pressure when the flue fan is running. If either the micro switch, the diaphragm, or the tubing is faulty the heater will cut out for safety reasons. So even if the flue fan is running and all is well with the flue, if there are any issues with the pressure switch the heater will cut out.

Why did my fs100 start beeping last night, had to switch off at power point to stop it

Hi Boo
Sorry I don't know the anser to this, as my heater is a different model.
When was the last time you had the heater serviceed ?
Isn't there some hint under "trouble shooting" in the manual.
Frustrated
Nothing in the manual.
Probably need to change batteries in the remote control. The Receiver box inside the heaters seem to beep when they are losing signal with the remote whether it be low batteries or remote taken too far away. Change the batteries or move the remote closer to the heater. See if that works

Have a new archer heater but it is so loud. Can I fix this?

Hi Jjj
I had the IS900, which has double fans - Mine wasn't loud as the fans cut in and out depending on the heat. SO I would suggest it needs looking into.

Hi, we have an Archer Log Fire for about 8 years (FSP 100) and has been fine. Today when we switch on the fan starts up as per normal and then a few seconds later when flame wants to lite it trips out our power circuit breaker. Can you suggest what issue may be please? Do you also know someone in Adelaide that services these units?
Kind regards
Martin.

It sounds more than likely that one of the burner Ignitors (Hot Surface Ignitor) is either touching the burner or earthing out by touching a log or perhaps has sooted up and is earthing through the soot. If you carefully open the front glass door and inspect the Ignitors on each burner you will see the problem. It's important that they do not touch anything. Please turn off the power before doing this as the Ignitors are 240v and avoid touching them as they are extremely brittle and break easy
Thanks for your reply. :-)

Hi, we have an aurora has log fire... We bought it so that we could have the fire in low flame and low fan (as we were told this heater could do). The heater lights and stays on low flame but kicks the fan onto high after about 20 mins. It's that bloody loud you can barely hear yourself think.. Can anyone help me?! The Heater is perfect when on low, but it always kicks into high and I end up turning it off every 20 mins to get it to kick back down. Any advice?!

Hi Cristina .I think there must be something wrong with your heater, as the fan is automatic and should work to the flame settings,if set on low flame the fan should work on low it will cut out and come back on, but should come back on low, not high also make sure you have the low switch on only the one on the left .Hope this helps regards Ken

You might want to check what your gas pressure is set at.

Who is your service agent in Ballarat.

Does anyone know a repair agent who fixes archer .I have rang a few gas plumbers who won't touch them I need my heater fixed I am desperate and my girls are cold!!!!!!
No one will touch them. I have had one for 8 years, with problems every year, and the plumber we have just sort of fumbles his way through it, but thankfully he is very nice and quite clever. He also said they are a piece of junk (good heat, but always break down), and suggested we don't buy another, but on the flip side, it keeps him cashed up from our house during winter (every winter). I have his number on speed dial now!
