Braemar Gas Wall Furnaces Ecostar WF30 (page 2 of 2)
Very easy to use, quiet and effectively takes the chill from the large area covered by this heater, which is particularly comforting on those freezing winter mornings when the family prepares for the day ahead. The design is modern and the colour suits the style and decor of our home. A very good choice.

Read reviews prior to purchase and was a little concerned with fan noise however had it installed and love it. Fan is normal, you can hear it but it fine. If that's the worst thing then l'm very happy with product. I recommend the product. It only took the technician just over an hour to remove old heater and install new one. Good price too $1600 installed.
I purchased this this WF30 this month, it switches of & on far to often, it goes from pilot light to slow then run speed this were the noise comes in, at night if we have it set on about 3 1/2, 21 room temperature it goes thou the 3 settings about every 15 mins we can't here the TV, when we go to be we got to close the bedroom door because of the noise, so please do not buy the crap w have had the service people out twice & they say it is normal for it, well they need to go back to the drawing board the person who design this crap should be giv...

Based on all the reviews, I was dreading buying this unit, but it was the only real option to replace my old Braemar D45 wall furnace without re-plastering the wall and such. I originally just had Casey Gas Plumbing (recommended by another company I trust) out to check my old one for carbon monoxide and if that was ok, to replace the fan that has started making scraping sounds. The carbon monoxide was fine but unfortunately it had a small gas leak coming from a part that could no longer be replaced.
Expecting the worst I had already looked at...
Read more options for replacement so we discussed my options. In the end, Braemar was one of only 2 options and the repair guy (Bruce) recommended the Braemar saying it was much more reliable as it wasn't packed with all the electronics of the alternative which he's had problems with. He also mentioned that he had installed many of these units and found them to be very reliable. He said he did not recommend the WF40 for normal homes as he said they were definitely much noisier than the WF30 and were really designed for much bigger areas. We also discussed the WF25 due to the much higher star rating but he mentioned that the star rating comes with a lot more turning on and off in order to be economical. With trepidation I agreed for him to supply and install a new WF30. Just a quick note here, I did some pricing before hand and found the price quoted to be fair for supply and install, however I note that the big companies charged much more and my gas provider (Energy Australia) was over $1000 more expensive, so do a little homework and consider smaller companies when pricing. Mine ended up costing $1600 including installation. I did not need the extra plate at the top as some do to cover a hole in the plaster and it only vents from the front, not into the room behind so didn't need the extra kit for that. Back to the heater. I understand what people are talking about in relation to the fan noise as the auto setting does mean that the fan runs louder than just leaving my old heater on low all the time. However I did not find the noise to be excessive considering that this was mostly during the warm up phase of a cold house and it did warm the house much more quickly than the old heater did. When the house is up to temperature it mostly runs on the low speed which is only slightly louder than it was in my old heater. I should mention that the chair I sit in is right next to the heater and I am literally 2 feet away from it. I also have a bad back and sleep in that same chair as I cannot sleep in a bed. I have had the heater running all night in Melbourne Winter and it did not disturb my sleep right next to it. I should also note that my old heater used to make lots of clicking or banging sounds as it heated and cooled inside. The WF30 is actually much quieter than the old one in that respect. In conclusion, while the fan does make more noise, mostly while bringing the house up to temperature, it heats it more quickly and more evenly than the old one I had. My experience is not even close to some of the other reviews and after discussing my concerns with the repair guy it seems like we have a case of most people just expect things to work well and don't review a good result so the unhappy people get to make all the noise. I'm mostly writing this review myself to express what is probably the normal result, for people like myself who dread buying one based on the bad reviews. If things go south in terms of problems or noise I'll come back and update otherwise I'm happy with the unit.

I had to place my trusty Vulcan because it was leaking carbon monoxide. It was a great heater. The new Braemar replacement looks great but doesn't sound so great. It is definitely noisier than the Vulcan but its only awful when you set the fan to boost. Heating wise I'm happy with it. I haven't had any problems with the thermostat clicking on and off. It cost me $2500 and was a preferable alternative to the $6-7 000 ducted heating would have cost.

You should consider another way to heat your room. This Braemer is extremely noisy and not very good at heating the room. Looks, good but performs below par. You should hear this unit working before you consider installing it. I hope you have better luck with your new heater choice. Happy shopping.
After 20 years of using my Vulcan heater, decided to replace with something newer and modern . Big mistake, Braemer WF30 has only automatic function, when fan is running makes loud noise it is impossible to watch tv, we cannot leave heater running overnight because of the noise . Wasted $1800

We recently had to replace an old Vulcan heater. Initially, we had been reluctant to get the Braemar because of some of the earlier bad reviews about noise. Nonetheless, we had limited funds (and the other heaters would have cost a few thousand dollars for installation because we'd need to re-plaster and repaint the wall) - so we eventually decided to go with the full wall furnace.
We are VERY happy with our choice!! It is SO much quieter than the older furnace and it heats up our space very quickly. The thermostat works nicely and the room ...

Have just replaced a very old, but fantastic Vulcan wall furnace with a Braemar WF 30. Heats quiet well, but this automatic fan..... My goodness what a poor piece of design and engineering - so, so noisy. It could possibly drive me crazy.
My question to anyone out there is.... could an electrician do anything to cancel out the automatic fan so that I can just have it on low the whole time? Most of the time the fan switches to high, which seems unnecessary and a waste of power, as well as sounding like a jet taking off.
I am so disappointed wi...
