This is a great unit thus far...

published

I have a rabbit-warren kind of house (not open plan) and with the rear register this heats the whole house. I am waiting for Seeley to tell me the optimum operating temperature range, but I have it on '1' overnight and 2 or 3 during the day. I haven't had a gas bill yet, but am using no other heating..

Very disappointed.

published

Room is not warm enough without having the heater running flat out. Noisy. Metal makes clicking noise when thermostat turns on/off. Our 24 year old wall furnace did a much better job. Very disappointed as Braemar has such a good name. Price included installation.

Give me back my old Vulcan.

published

This heater has recently been installed in the home I rent. If I could I would trade this unit for my old Vulcan any day. Like many other reviews have stated, this heater is loud and clunky. At setting 4 and above the fan is overwhelmingly loud and uncomfortable in the space, especially when it kicks in to the higher speed. There is no way to control this since turning the dial down a little to 3 or below basically makes the heater cut out altogether.
Along with the absence of directional fins for air flow this has to be one of the most user UN-friendly appliances I have ever come across. With an energy rating of 2.2 I wonder how any manufacturer would be proud of this product. Avoid if you can.

Failed after 2 years, carbon monoxide

published

The furnace was purchased a little over two years ago. We arranged for the first "every two years" service/inspection in May and they detected a significant (7-10ppm) carbon monoxide reading over two different days with two different sensors and told us not to use the heater until repaired.

Braemar asked us to have a second group have a look (at our cost) and if there was an issue then we'd pay again for labour but they'd consider sending the part. So: service #1 + service #2 + labour to fix.

Since it'll cost approximately as much in labour as the furnace originally cost, we're removing it. I wouldn't recommend Braemar furnaces.

So far so good

published

I read some reviews online which are both negative and positive but I decided to take a punt on this anyway. I've been running it for the last 6 weeks and honestly it is a very warm heater that heats up both my living area and kitchen in around 10 minutes. It needs to be put on setting 4 (out of 7) in order to prevent the thermostat from cutting the heater in and out. 3 and below seems to be just too low a setting for it to stay on. One drawback is like others have said, yes it is a little loud when the boost kicks in but it doesn't stay on too long and isn't overly annoyingly loud but you know it's on. Overall a decent enough heater for the price ($1200) that does it's job.

Purchased in April 2020 at Stan Cash for $1,200.

Disappointed

published

Really really dissapointed with this heater. Didn't do my homework, big mistake. It is poor quality, no temp setting so just guess work, no fan control so it cuts in and out with a noisy high speed fan, and the room gets hot and cold. But the worst is it exacerbates my asthma. Might have past as a bottom of the range heater 25 years ago, so sorry I put this in my house.

Loud and doesn’t heat consistently

published

Really loud and clunky, it cuts in and out often, so you’re either way too hot or just as you’re starting to feel warm off it goes and you’re suddenly cold again.

Worst heater I’ve ever had.

What’s gone wrong is the design team didn’t consider noise or consistency of heating.

I'm having trouble lighting the pilot light. I have the power connected. Any tips would be great thank you.

Turn the knob to the spark symbol, hold it down for a few seconds and press the igniter button a few times until the metal arrow on the pilot indicator is in the red.

Special note: when you want to turn it off, only turn it to pilot, as 0 will turn off the pilot light as well.

We have had a Braemar WF 30 installed. Wondering if there is a replacement for the front vent as mine is not directional it blows the hot air straight in to my cold glass sliding doors. My old one which was replaced was directional.
