Braemar Gas Wall Furnaces Ecostar WF30
At least with our old unit we could see the flame ignite or not when you pressed the button and as per others it is noisy.
We just purchased a new vehicle and it starts with the pressing of a button (one press and it turns on). This thing takes numerous goes and then sometimes a second person to take over before it can get going.
Very disappointed that in this day and age that such a clunky starting mechanism still exists makes it feel like a very cheap unit.
A for noise level I agree we have had to turn our TV up to be able to hear it over th...

I have a rabbit-warren kind of house (not open plan) and with the rear register this heats the whole house. I am waiting for Seeley to tell me the optimum operating temperature range, but I have it on '1' overnight and 2 or 3 during the day. I haven't had a gas bill yet, but am using no other heating..

Room is not warm enough without having the heater running flat out. Noisy. Metal makes clicking noise when thermostat turns on/off. Our 24 year old wall furnace did a much better job. Very disappointed as Braemar has such a good name. Price included installation.

This heater has recently been installed in the home I rent. If I could I would trade this unit for my old Vulcan any day. Like many other reviews have stated, this heater is loud and clunky. At setting 4 and above the fan is overwhelmingly loud and uncomfortable in the space, especially when it kicks in to the higher speed. There is no way to control this since turning the dial down a little to 3 or below basically makes the heater cut out altogether.
Along with the absence of directional fins for air flow this has to be one of the most user UN-friendly appliances I have ever come across. With an energy rating of 2.2 I wonder how any manufacturer would be proud of this product. Avoid if you can.

a noisy relay to control ignition and fans instead of a silent FET or IGBT common place in most white goods. fan speed via a resistor. using the above is almost a noise free start and with the correct part selection will be far far more reliable often at a lesser cost.Hint : surface mount IGBT's rated at 600 volts at 8 amps are more cost effective AND fully silent. Using a simple cheap opto coupler and a minor firmware change smoother start of the blower can be achieved. I did see a large fixed capacitor if its purpose is a starter that might ...
Read morehave a baring on why you might not have elected to move to this technology. just as simple to have a multi would induction motor with three FETS or IGBTs and why no insulation over a motor winding do you really want to trade winding heat in favour of corrosion and possibly an open circuit motor. I makes me wonder as a tenant, if one should trust your firmware in the key roles of protection for over temperature and carbon monoxide sensing ! especially when a look at the above factors admittedly I only see your retail price but even so in 2020 the build is total risk at this price and I DO agree that with the cost of gas to the consumer there is a high emphasis on efficiency and it can be hard to meet the above in that context. I opten wonder if it might fare better as a fan forced solely hydronically fan forced arrangement having no carbon monoxide problems to content with only a small heat exchanger with temperature sensing,Purchased in August 2020 for $1,500.
The furnace was purchased a little over two years ago. We arranged for the first "every two years" service/inspection in May and they detected a significant (7-10ppm) carbon monoxide reading over two different days with two different sensors and told us not to use the heater until repaired.
Braemar asked us to have a second group have a look (at our cost) and if there was an issue then we'd pay again for labour but they'd consider sending the part. So: service #1 + service #2 + labour to fix.
Since it'll cost approximately as much in labour as the furnace originally cost, we're removing it. I wouldn't recommend Braemar furnaces.

Had this heater installed to have a checkup done out of the blue about a month or two later from the installation company who put a sticker on it basically telling you you couldnt have any exhaust fans on in the house and had to have a window open in the room. As well as needing to install a carbon monoxide alarm in the room as our model had been found to have leaks.

I read some reviews online which are both negative and positive but I decided to take a punt on this anyway. I've been running it for the last 6 weeks and honestly it is a very warm heater that heats up both my living area and kitchen in around 10 minutes. It needs to be put on setting 4 (out of 7) in order to prevent the thermostat from cutting the heater in and out. 3 and below seems to be just too low a setting for it to stay on. One drawback is like others have said, yes it is a little loud when the boost kicks in but it doesn't stay on too long and isn't overly annoyingly loud but you know it's on. Overall a decent enough heater for the price ($1200) that does it's job.

Really really dissapointed with this heater. Didn't do my homework, big mistake. It is poor quality, no temp setting so just guess work, no fan control so it cuts in and out with a noisy high speed fan, and the room gets hot and cold. But the worst is it exacerbates my asthma. Might have past as a bottom of the range heater 25 years ago, so sorry I put this in my house.

Had this heater installed last year was good for the year, but it’s now blasted hard to light put it on pilot light goes out, two days ago went out on temperature three now.
Rental had someone service the heater yeah blow vac and turned it on to see heat temperature from the bottom but wasn’t interested in finding out why it just cuts off most times I go to bed to stay warm at night at least my electric blanket still works, can’t even light it today

Really loud and clunky, it cuts in and out often, so you’re either way too hot or just as you’re starting to feel warm off it goes and you’re suddenly cold again.
Worst heater I’ve ever had.

Purchase 2 years ago from Gasworks asked for the best this is not!!! replaced a old 30year heater for this $4000 heater to stop working after the warranty runs out cost $180 just to have someone look at it after being one month out of its 2 year warranty! Don’t waste your money buy a fire place!!! Also found out you need to get it serviced every year because of the computer chip in it!! Crap!! They don’t make heaters like they use too!!

Questions & Answers
I'm having trouble lighting the pilot light. I have the power connected. Any tips would be great thank you.
Turn the knob to the spark symbol, hold it down for a few seconds and press the igniter button a few times until the metal arrow on the pilot indicator is in the red.
Special note: when you want to turn it off, only turn it to pilot, as 0 will turn off the pilot light as well.
Just had one installed this week. It is very loud and is smelling strongly which I was told would be but for how long? I am worried now reading these questions/answers about carbon monoxide?

We have had a Braemar WF 30 installed. Wondering if there is a replacement for the front vent as mine is not directional it blows the hot air straight in to my cold glass sliding doors. My old one which was replaced was directional.
