I hear water dripping in my heater.

published

I have the WF25N heater and it heats well. My concern is sometimes (not always) I can hear the sound of water dripping inside the heater. Is this normal. I was told it had some kind of carbon monoxide safety feature, and I was wondering if it had something to do with that. The heater is about a year old.

Very disappointed.

published

Room is not warm enough without having the heater running flat out. Noisy. Metal makes clicking noise when thermostat turns on/off. Our 24 year old wall furnace did a much better job. Very disappointed as Braemar has such a good name. Price included installation.

WHY???

published

Why install a known faulty heater DHHS??
Less than a year old with probably only two weeks actual running as installed just after winter last year and when we turned on for the cold snap it is the 3 red lights and one green light. Numerous calls and plumber attendance and here we are with no heating and a piece of crap. Supposedly a faulty gas valve (which is readily purchased ) but we are still waiting 4 weeks later.
Would not recommend anyone to purchase this model as it has a history of similar problems - reviews written since 2018- same issue so that says a lot about Braemer rectifying known issues and DHHS purchasing substandard essential items.

Can't live without heating.

published

Our new Breamer wall heater was installed 2 years ago after the one before nearly killed us because of emitting carbon dioxide. We live in DHHS and now this new Breamer just stopped working. My husband and I have medical issues and we need heating. Three times someone came and now been told that it needs a negative switch but still waiting. Really upsetting and Breamer should not have sold defective heaters to the housing department. Really upset because we are goin to freeze.

Give me back my old Vulcan.

published

This heater has recently been installed in the home I rent. If I could I would trade this unit for my old Vulcan any day. Like many other reviews have stated, this heater is loud and clunky. At setting 4 and above the fan is overwhelmingly loud and uncomfortable in the space, especially when it kicks in to the higher speed. There is no way to control this since turning the dial down a little to 3 or below basically makes the heater cut out altogether.
Along with the absence of directional fins for air flow this has to be one of the most user UN-friendly appliances I have ever come across. With an energy rating of 2.2 I wonder how any manufacturer would be proud of this product. Avoid if you can.

Failed after 2 years, carbon monoxide

published

The furnace was purchased a little over two years ago. We arranged for the first "every two years" service/inspection in May and they detected a significant (7-10ppm) carbon monoxide reading over two different days with two different sensors and told us not to use the heater until repaired.

Braemar asked us to have a second group have a look (at our cost) and if there was an issue then we'd pay again for labour but they'd consider sending the part. So: service #1 + service #2 + labour to fix.

Since it'll cost approximately as much in labour as the furnace originally cost, we're removing it. I wouldn't recommend Braemar furnaces.

I had this heater installed in my house by dhs in July 2022 one thing I noticed its always turning off and on and loud when running.
Just recently it started not working it tries to light and shuts off.

Excellent service provided by Braemar

published

I can’t thank David Mitchell from Braemar enough for helping my 85 years old mother out. He went way beyond after a non braemer installer had given her grief. Davids team not only checked everything but followed up the following morning to make sure she was ok and happy with the way the heater was working and all out of the goodness of their hearts. ... thank you very much.

So far so good

published

I read some reviews online which are both negative and positive but I decided to take a punt on this anyway. I've been running it for the last 6 weeks and honestly it is a very warm heater that heats up both my living area and kitchen in around 10 minutes. It needs to be put on setting 4 (out of 7) in order to prevent the thermostat from cutting the heater in and out. 3 and below seems to be just too low a setting for it to stay on. One drawback is like others have said, yes it is a little loud when the boost kicks in but it doesn't stay on too long and isn't overly annoyingly loud but you know it's on. Overall a decent enough heater for the price ($1200) that does it's job.

Purchased in April 2020 at Stan Cash for $1,200.
