The house we dreamed of
Our build with dale Alcock is coming to an end, and we are eagerly awaiting our handover in six days time!
The build process has been smooth sailing ever since we started (getting started was a headache with the council)
But any issues we’ve had between our customer liason officer Nena and our site supervisor brad they have been quickly sorted!

Great First Build Experience
As a young family with no building experience or knowledge, the idea of wanting a home of our own was a daunting prospect. This was all put at ease when Lachlan Aquilina and the team helped us start our journey, they made us feel important and relaxed while coming up with our first dream home. We were always kept in the loop with progress along the way and everyone we had the pleasure of dealing with, from Finance with Scott to Gina and Paige during Prestart and Preconstruction and now with Nena and Brad for the Build. Thomas Heap was our consultant from the start even before we had sourced our block, we had been in contact with Thomas for 12 months prior and he asked when we were ready to contact him and we did.

sultant) who did the original design from my scribble on a piece of paper showing circles of where I would like the bedrooms to be ("there, there, there and there"); and maybe the Theatre Room and Home Office "there"; and all the rest "you can work out". He did his magic and came up with an amazing design on a very difficult shaped lot that required the house to be L-Shaped. This house has everything. Right down to tall broom cupboard; 4 taps on each side; oversize man-hole to cover a few. At no time during the build did I ever have anything but Kevin Shaw's total commitment and cooperation. I would say Kevin Shaw is a bit of a Perfectionist; and any time I wanted something moved or change, he would do it, but suggested from his knowledge, in a Polite and Professional way, that it may have a factor in the resale value or the flow of how the spaces would work. But he would always change it the way I insisted to be and never ever showed an irritation or frustration. Every time this happened, a week or so later I would ask him to change it back as I eventually saw that he was uncannily right the first time. Kevin Shaw would do this with no problem whatsoever. I don't know how many times this happened but it was a lot. (As I said I'm a difficult client). I truly believe I now have a house that could not be better designed by a true professional. I have now looked over the drawings for hours on end and I can honestly say there is not a single thing I would change that Kevin Shaw has done. I can't over emphasis that every room is just the perfect size and shape and each flows from the each other. It has a "feng shui" feel and flow to the design.1 comment

Amazing Experience

Excellent turnaround time on all requests
Harry Lewer has been extremely helpful and his response time has been the best I have seen in quite a while within any organisation. No changes within our initial plan were too big or small to accommodate. Harry has always been very flexible in setting up appointments to accommodate our work schedules. The subdivision had problems but all the issues were resolved from start to finish and this resolution of issues continued during the build and everything was always resolved to our satisfaction.

We got our house key on 3rd April 2020. Johnny the Supervisor came personally to deliver the house key. We are very lucky to have Johnny as our Building Supervisor. He is knowledgeable, patience, helpful will assist whatever our request that we wish to add at last minute. Harry Lewer -Nothing too much trouble!
After looking unsuccessfully for an established home for many months, we finally decided to build. This was the second time in our life with the first being 40 years ago! We met Harry at the Jindalee display village and we were immediately impressed by his personable manner. Feeling overwhelmed with what may lay ahead, Harry has consistently listened and worked with our ideas (and they have been ever changing). Excellent building experience: The only building company I would use.
The whole building process has been excellent from start to end. Stuart, our new home consultant, took the time to really understand our requirements and worked with us to make slight modifications to the original plan to ensure the new house would suit our needs.

Thanks to Johnny and Tania’s efforts our build management exceeded expectations. The overall workmanship cannot be faulted. The small one percenters make all the difference, with the house being show home quality. It was so good, our independent building inspector remarked that compared to other company builds our house was of high quality with only a few minors areas picked up which were all fixed by Johnny and the team. Any issues we had were resolved in a timely matter, even after taking handover, a small issue arose with the NBN conduit, Tania was on to it straight away and it was fixed within hours. The final build price came within the expected price as per the contract. The end product is one of quality. If you are considering Dale’s as the company to build your home, in my opinion, don’t look any further.1 comment

Hi, I built with Dale Alcock homes in 2011 and have cracking running along the cornice join to wall and also continuing to run down the wall, every room has substantial cracking and large pieces of gyp rock have fallen out exposing the brick behind it, some cornice has cracked through badly also, it looks like the roof has moved exposing where the gyprock line finishes from time of home handover. After paying for the house to be painted this will have to be re-done when cracks are repaired due to the
sheer number of cracks requiring repair. I would like to know if Dale Alcock are responsible for repairing these issues under warranty and also inspecting roof movement as the root cause of cracking issues??

Our home was finished in 2015 and we also have extensive cracks on walls and ceilings in nearly every room of our home. As well as cracked tiles and substantial fittings that show tarnishing that cannot be cleaned.on reading the latest reviews, Dale Alcock must have picked his game up after our home because the finishes and even the way the hand over was done can only be described as unprofessional. After trying to rectify certain issues that have just returned, we were left emotionally drained from all the changing management and different trades tracing through the house months after we moved in. We thought we were getting a good builder to build our house in Coogee, so we did not go to a cheaper builder. Turns out Dale Alcock at that time were just like a cheaper builder with some of the tradesmen being very slack and site managers that did not check jobs effectively.

HI there,
I have just purchase a property in Pearsall (we are the second owner). We have had a building inspector and a ceiling fixer come out to the house and have been advised by both that the ceilings through out the house have sagged and the bad glue (purple in colour) that DAH used in the past has failed (apparently this is a common occurance). In some areas there is nothing holding up the ceiling other than the cornice!
They have also advised that it is so bad in the master bedroom that they don't believe it is safe to sleep in that room and is actually dangerous.

We are the second owner of a 2003 Dale alcock home. We have structural concerns with the steel poles around the perimeter which go straight into the ground. At installation they mustn't have been correctly protected and now they are rusting through. Are we eligible for warranty claims? Thanks
