A wonderful machine.

published

We have a dog. Can the little rollers on the cleaning head that run on the floor be made easily removable for removing dog hair etc. Otherwise the Dyson V8 is a top machine and worth every dollar...

The stories are absolutely true guys! There is no better vacuum cleaner on this whole entire Earth other than the one and only Dyson (Dyson in general not necessarily specific to this model). They are absolutely incredible, do not waste your time with anything else like I did, you will be kicking yourself for it once you make this purchase.

My girlfriend bought this for our apartment

To be honest i was quite upset in the beginning because she spent over $500 for this vacuum machine and I thought it was too much and if you ask me now it's definitely worth it .it's very easy to use and very powerful. I love my Dyson vacuum cleaner.

Cheap Bellini Bagless (Target) better than Dyson V8 Absolute

published

Do not waste your money. I recently purchased the Target Bellini ($129RRP) after a couple of years with my Dyson. This is the second Dyson vacuum that I have purchased that kept breaking down. The Bellini really is phenomenal (check out the reviews on Target!).

worst vacuum ever

published

Please don't buy one, we had a v6, it wouldn't stay on. We said okay we must be unlucky with this one, so we bought a second v8 because it was handy without using a cord.
This v8 goes flat after only 5 mins being on minimal power, very frustrating so we are going to go and purchase a completely different brand.
If we could I would not give it any stars that's exactly what we would give it, hopeless, worst thing ever.

so easy to clean the floor and carpet. The included attachments are so useful for dusting and even vacuuming the car. Battery lasts long long time in the low setting which is enough.

LOVE the no LUG

published

I use this for cleaning wooden floors, carpet, walls ( picture rails ), the ceiling fans and anywhere else. I would have bought the latest but the cost was prohibitive. My only issue is the length of time on the power up. It goes for about 7 mins full bore before the battery dies and takes about 4 hours to recharge. Not really a problem now - once you've dysoned all the rooms initially - it is so so good at getting all the dirt and dust - you don't need to throughly vacuum as often. I have a dog and a cat - and this is the best vacuum I have ever had by a mile. Worth every cent

Perfect cleaner, with some limits

published

Love it! Best one we have. Problem is that battery doesnt last the whole house for us and cleaning is more frequently than we would have liked. If only the company makes spare battery that doesnt require opening of the motor for swapping over.

First battery was playing up so was replaced under warranty. Bin lids broken twice now with one under warranty.

Easy to use, battery life not so good

published

This is my first Dyson vacuum purchase and performance wise, it hasn't disappointed. It is very easy to use - just pick up, change the head (carpet or floorboard) and off you go. No cords to deal with. The disappointing part is the battery life - it doesn't last very long...15 minutes if you are lucky. This sometimes means stopping the job halfway and charging, which takes a few hours. Maintenance is also quite easy, however hairs constantly get stuck in the heads which is a bit of a headache cleaning.

Great performance with ease of use

Used this vacuum for tiles and carpet area, pretty easy to use with great convenience. One full charge of battery can easily last cleaning the whole 2 room apartment, but after that it will need a recharge. Performance of the battery starts dissipating after 1-2 years.

Battery dies quickly

published

I have had my Dyson v8 absolute for nearly two years. It was great when it was new but now the battery dies really quickly, only lasting about ten minutes when it’s supposed to last for 40! It’s so annoying having to vacuum in small areas and then having to wait for it to recharge. It’s handy for cleaning spills etc but not for doing the whole house.

A great vacuum

published

I use it multiple times a day and find it so easy to use and clean out. Dyson are amazing with customer service if you encounter problems (we needed a new battery and they sent it asap for free). Sometimes I have to go over crumbs etc a few times to pick them up but overall I love this vacuum. Only thing I don’t like is when battery runs out you can’t use it for a while. I wish you could plug it into the charge cable and keep using it.

Excellent product from an excellent brand.

published

I have had a Dyson V8 Absolute for about three months now and it has definitely been one of the better purchases I've made (!). It is easy to use and easy to install. It has enough power to run for 15-30 minutes and I have yet to run out of battery during use (and I use it a lot!). It is has many different attachments to use for hard floor, smaller areas etc - they all work quite well.

I have not had any problems with this Dyson V8 Absolute model. I'd recommend this product to friends and family!

V8 Absolute

Hi - I have a dyson V8 absolute about 2-3 years old. The last few weeks I have noticed that the battery life is less and less - today it was 1 and half minutes. I store the V8 in its charging station so charing all the time when not in use. There does not appear to be any blockages and I clean the filter quite often. What do you think is the issue? thanks

The battery I am looking at buying a generic battery that should last longer and be stronger
Not another crappy Dyson battery

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

If your Dyson V8 is working well otherwise (i.e. picking up dust and debris) when not in Max mode, and the lights on the machine turn on when the machine is plugged in, it would indicate the battery on the machine would need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement battery for the Dyson V8 here: https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-v8-replacement-battery-967834-02. We would always encourage use of a genuine Dyson battery to ensure your machine works as intended and designed.

If this isn't the case, the machine is under two years old, or you have any further queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

V8 Absolute

My Dyson charges but will only work for about 5 minutes and then dies.

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

To confirm, the V8 has two modes of suction; Max and high power. With the motorised head attached the machine will provide 25-30 minutes on high power mode. Without using a motorised tool it can run up to 40 minutes on high power mode. On Max mode, the machine will run for around 7 minutes regardless of the tool in use.

If you aren't seeing the above run times, So we can best assist, please email [email protected] with your details and our Dyson Experts will be in touch to help.

V8 Absolute

Can I leave it on charge inbetween usage?

2 answers
Karina F.
Karina F.

You can, why not, though it’s not necessary, you can use it with min 20% of battery and battery lasts quite long.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

It is recommended you leave the machine on charge when not in use, even if you haven't fully used the battery. This will ensure it is always ready for your next cleaning session. Your Dyson V8 has smart electronics within the machine, battery and charger to ensure the machine won't overcharge.

Should we be able to further assist, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help. Alternatively, If you are not in Australia, please visit www.dyson.com and press "Contact Us" for the local contact information of the Dyson helpline in your area.
