I'm trying to take out travel insurance for me and my girlfriend and was happy to find that you're offering travel insurance for couples on your website. I proceeded to put in the details to get a quote. Then, in the policy summary before payment, it explicitly states that only 1 adult traveller is covered. There's also no option to add another person. What's the purpose of a couples insurance if it only covers 1 person?

So, if you can't even get your products and sales process right, how can I trust you're getting anything right when I actually have to make a claim?

Hi Simon, thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry you have not had a great purchasing experience. Our website is normally very user-friendly and an easy buy process to obtain one of our policies. We get loads of great positive feedback about it all the time. I'd really like to take a look at your quote, to see what went wrong, and would be most happy to help you with your policy purchase over the phone. I'll even throw in a discount for your trouble!
Feel free to call on Monday and ask to speak to me directly.

For temporary residents of Australia, cover is available, however, only if:
You are a non-permanent resident who holds a valid Medicare card or are covered by an Australian Private Health Insurance policy that satisfies the government health insurance requirements for your visa type; and You have a home in Australia to which you intend to return; and Your trip starts and ends in Australia; and You hold a return ticket to Australia; and You are aged 89 years and under.
I hope that helps!

Are children under 21 complimentary?

2 answers

David

I would suggest: fill in all the details of who is to be covered for a quote and see what is offered. You don't have to accept the quote. I didn't see any mention of children being included for no extra charge -insurance companies have to cover themselves for any additional risk.

Fast Cover Travel Insurance
Fast Cover T.Fast Cover Travel Insurance

Hi Linda,
Thank you for your question. Yes, I can confirm children under the age of 21 are covered for free :). In the context of travel insurance children under the age of 21 who are not working full time are covered for free. You do not need to put their ages in until the payment page. If you need any further information please don't hesitate to contact us on 1300 409 322 and we'd be happy to assist you. Kind regards, Margretta

Hi Catherine,

Thank you for your question! We sure do :).

To be covered for trekking at altitudes of 3000metres to 6000metres (not higher) but only where specialist climbing equipment is not required. You will need to add on the Adventure Pack to either a Comprehensive or a Standard Saver policy.

I hope that helps!

Is the River Cruise in Europe(Budapest to Amsterdam) classified as a cruise or just Ocean cruises

Hi Dawn,

Thank you for your message!

The easiest way to know whether your river cruise is considered a 'cruise' which you will need travel insurance for is whether your cruise has a medical team on board. If your river cruise has a medical team on board then you will need to choose the cruise option for your trip. If there is no medical team then you do not need to specify cruise on your quote :).

I hope that helps!

1 answer
Fast Cover Travel Insurance
Fast Cover T.Fast Cover Travel Insurance

Hi Cavalierskye, thanks for your enquiry.

Our policies cover a list of 43 Pre-Existing Medical Conditions which you view here: https://fastcover.com.au/what-we-cover/pre-existing-medical-conditions

If you have a condition that is outside of this list, you would not be covered for any claims related to that particular condition. In the context of travel insurance, your back injury is considered a pre-existing condition and unfortunately it is something that is NOT covered under the insurance policy. However, you can still take out the policy with us and you would still receive medical benefits for claims that are unrelated to the pre-existing medical condition.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Hi Kim!

If you have a Comprehensive, Standard Saver, Snow Sports, Domestic or Frequent Travellers Savers policy then there is luggage benefits.

We do cover mobile phone left provided: You report a theft within 24 hours to the police or an office of the bus line, airline, shipping line or rail authority you were travelling on when the theft occurred. You must prove that you made a report by providing us with a written statement from whoever you reported it to.

Yes we do suggest that you take pictures of your items you will be travelling with so that if anything happens whilst you are travelling. There is an excess on all of our policies but not all benefits hold an excess. The luggage benefit has an excess.

I hope that helps!

Hi. I'm looking for travel insurance to cover a flight from Perth to Adelaide for myself and my husband whilst on holiday in Perth. We are UK residents. We both have pre existing medical conditions and was wondering can you provide such cover.

1 answer
Fast Cover Travel Insurance
Fast Cover T.Fast Cover Travel Insurance

Hi BOWE, thanks for your enquiry.

Cover is only available if:
- You are an Australian citizen, or holder of a valid Australian permanent residency visa, permanently residing at an Australian address and hold a current Australian Medicare card which is not a visitor Medicare card; and
- You purchase your policy before you commence your trip or you satisfy all of the requirements for purchasing a policy while you are already overseas; and
- Your trip ends in Australia.

For temporary residents of Australia on a 457 visa cover is available, however, only if:
- You hold a current Australian 457 visa which will remain valid beyond the period of your trip; and
- You have a home in Australia to which you intend to return; and
- You hold a return ticket to Australia; and
- Your trip ends in Australia; and
- You are aged 74 years and under.

If you don't meet the above criteria, we're unfortunately unable to provide a policy for you. However, you may want to check out these other companies that may be able to provide travel insurance for non-residents of Australia: https://www.comparetravelinsurance.com.au/travel-insurance-tips/non-resident-travel-insurance

I hope that helps!

Hi Liz,

If you are hospitalised while you are travelling you, or a travelling companion, or treating doctors need to contact our Emergency Assistance Team, who will coordinate with the doctors and hospital both to ensure you receive appropriate medical treatment, and to provide a guarantee for the medical costs if the condition is covered by your policy.

In the situation that you need to see a GP for a less severe medical condition, you may keep the receipts and medical reports, and submit a claim via our website when you return.

I hope you have a great trip.

Hello,
We are travelling to the USA next month.
I leave Australia 8 days prior to my husband and 2 teenage children (who are travelling with him).
We are then meeting up in the USA for our family holiday.
I then travel back to Australia separately to them again.
Are we ok to travel under a “family” policy even if I’m not with them for 100% of the trip?
Thanks,
Suzie.

Hi Suzie, thanks for your enquiry.

As you have a different itinerary from your husband and your children, you would have to take out a separate policies. You may be able to purchase 2 Single policies - one for you and one for your husband, where your children under the age of 21 could be covered free of additional charge under your husband's Single policy if they will be travelling with him 100% of the time.

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
