Caronavirus refund
Ok, it's pretty disgusting how you plan to keep my dollars on a policy that I haven't used ( which I purchased last year) due to Caronavirus and Government travel alerts. It's totally out of my control and I'd certainly be traveling if I could! To say there was a cooling off period when I purchased I understand, but this is out of my control so how about doing the right thing and try and keep future customers and refund !! I thought I found a good company with Insure and Go but maybe not......

Will not budge on cancelled trip offer to future credit.
All Clear which is part of Insure and Go have been terrible in making excuse after excuse to take our travel insurance premium even though our trip was cancelled and made NO claims. We were told we could transfer our policy ( plus some fees ) to a new trip later in the year, but today declined flat. Very poor company and totally untrustworthy. Have lost our business forever, costing them far more than the latest premium. What a stupid way to do business...annoy people...lose future business and drive customers to look for ETHICAL companies, if there are any in this business. Plain DUMB.

up this matter up with the ACCC and Consumer Affairs. I also note that in some circles there are people considering class actions in relation to travel policies. Not sure if this would be successful but there seems to be a lot of negative sentiment around this issue. I noted in my email that in the short run you will keep our money but you will never get us to take another policy with AllClear or Insure and Go ever gain. In the end we both lose but AllClear will be far worse off as when, for example this all blows over we intend to take a 5 month trip to Europe. The last time we did a large trip our insurance in 2014 was $3000. Who we insure with - no idea - except it won't be with AllClear as it stands at present. Can't trust people you have no faith in. So it is simply BAD BUSINESS. I can't see why the managers are too blind to realise this. Totally confused. My business and rental property are bust. I have refunded thousands in deposits and fees with no customers in the near future. Everyone is taking a hit- except maybe insurance companies. People have long memories. You should pass this message in FULL to your managers. I think they need a reality check.

We took out our travel insurance well before the coronavirus, our travel company transferred our holiday because of this unforeseen world incident (which is a stand up thing to do) so we didn’t need to use the travel insurance, when asked if we could change the dates we were told NO transfer, never used this policy $398 of our hard earned money, in their money grabbing pockets the evil of insurance companies at their best. Taking complete advantage of people’s misfortunes.

Disappointed and Frustrated
Like many other reviewers I am very disappointed with this company. Have been a customer for many years and never made a claim but they have certainly lost my business. Under the current circumstances I would have thought they would be considerate of people's positions, as are many other travel insurers, airlines. hotels, etc. I did not want a refund - just a "change of date" on the policy as my cruise was cancelled. But no go! $850 they have got for nothing!

Pre-Existing medical covered with a cost
Tried to organise online but the final quote was too high to pay. Phoned Insure&Go who helped me get it down by offering an extra discount and increasing the excess .

Good value cover

where's my discount
I felt that the silver level cruise cover more than adequately covered our needs and was good value however the day after I paid for this insurance cover I get an email stating a discount code if I buy insurance with insure & go.... a little late... and the timing of the very next day was disappointing. But overall I thought the process was easy to follow but my holiday is still some time away so not sure why this survey was sent now instead of after my cover ends as I can not even say if i do or do not need to claim....hopefully not

In terms of reviewing before you need to claim, I understand your point. We do also ask for feedback if you need to claim, but we also like to get feedback on the buying process too. This is because buying a policy is not easy for everyone, and some people struggle with aspects of the application process. Insurance covered all requirements
Easy to purchase online.
Very reasonable premium covering pre existing medical conditions.
Have not travelled yet so have not claimed.
Cannot comment on claiming and really the ease of claiming is of paramount importance.

Premature
Easy to apply for, staff contact especially good. However, as my holiday is some time away, we have no idea if we need to claim anything, and hope not. This makes it very hard to make any judgement. The staff we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. Maybe have this review after holiday is over.

Months to process claim
Lodged claim, InsureandGo took over 2 months to process claim. They were uncommunicative and did not answer my questions. I sent emails to try and sort out why they did not cover what was listed in my policy but no response. Would not use company again and would not recommend them. I have used this company multiple times but not till you make a claim do you realise how difficult and unhelpful InsureandGo is.
They dragged out claim process(told its being reviewed) to past the end date of my policy and now I can not get my claim sorted out.

My policy was purchased 19/2/20. My query is did Insureandgo know when i purchased this worthless policy that due to the pandemic they would not be liable for any claims. In other words they took my money for jam. As far as I am aware the pandemic was declared 31/1/20. I feel that should have been informed at purchase. My cruise dates were from 22/5/20 to 5/6/20. Hi Keith, It's more of, if you did travel and caught the virus that you are not covered. But our dispute is that it doesn't matter when you purchased the policy you haven't traveled yet, We all should be getting a refund. I have read that other travel insurance companies are refunding. As it is not our fault that all travel has been shut down. InsureandGo stand to make thousands of dollars if they do not give everyone back there money. I have put in a formal complaint to the ombudsman now, not just for me but for everyone. I hope you and others can do the same, the more complaints the better chance on getting a refund.

If it's good enough for companies like Woolworths Insurance to refund the policies then it should be the same for all major companies. I'm seeking clarification from them on my 2 policies purchased for travel this year then I will too go the the ombudsman. In a spirit of goodwill from them I'd even be happy with credit for my future travel.
