Nearly Perfect!
I have installed four of these between family and friends with one having been installed for a few years now without issues.
They are quiet, efficient, easy to service, have effective airflow and well laid out intuitive remotes.
I knocked off one star for the finish of one unit where the louvers don't park up exactly flush. Not exactly a deal breaker but the unit is in full view and is noticeable once spotted.
Overall, recommended for this price range as you won't find better value for this price point, all things considered.

Cooling only model SRK24YMA-S
My MHI model wasnt listed but the SRK71ZMA is probably the closest to what I have. Havent had the weather to fully test it out yet but when tested after install it worked great, water comes down the drain like a tap is turned on, I dont get super hot temps in summer, low 30s normally, mainly to get the humidity down in a large open plan living/dining / kitchen area being in the tropics. Straight forward to install, surprised how quiet it is on low fan speed ( indoor) for a large split A/C. Would not recommend it for a bedroom, still...Read more
a bit noisy for that & most bedrooms dont need more than 3.5kw anyway. Outdoor unit is quiet too, even at max capacity . Outdoor condenser is blue fin coated, gives a couple more years life before corrosion becomes an issue. There are other brands with slightly better star ratings out there in this size range, mainly one that use R32, Mitsubishi still using R410A. Being inverters they can ramp down in capacity & they get more efficient as they reduce capacity, think these 7.1kw units can go down to 2kw capacity. Going to claim MHI's cashback offer, will see if they pay up the $150.....Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very happy with the SRK63ZMA-S
We have this installed in our apartment living room and we are very happy with it!
On low-medium fan speed the indoor and outdoor units are whisper quiet, so much so that we aren't worried about noise for the neighbours late at night. Even on medium/high the sound is unobtrusive.
Great features and works perfectly!

AHHHHH - No going back now!
Our house is all wrong! We planned it soooo carefully too. Massive double storey, designed having utter regard for sustainable practices - heaps of windows to take advantage of the breezes, northerly aspect.
It was being built on a little rise on our 13 acre rural block, and we were going it alone with our power. The grid was only 80 metres away, but we went with a stand alone battery solar system. There was NEVER going to be A/C - we had followed all the guidelines, so we'd never need it!!
Our house would have been just perfect by the se...Read more
a. It isn't by the sea. What's the use of a hundred large picture windows if the breeze is preheated to an industrial 44 degrees? Those first few years were sheer hell (literally!). We spent $18K putting in roller shutters on the main huge windows, which helped but all of our chocolate still melted - sacrilege and the thermometer showed a drop from 43 degrees inside in summer to a much better (!!) 39. So when the gov't announced they were gonna pay 44c per Kw exported from rooftop solar back in 2011 we grabbed the opportunity, threw 81 panels on our roof and put in a 15Kw grid connect/feed system.Similar opinion? A very nice unit for a small space
I was looking for something small and discrete for my backyard studio (17.5m2 timber cottage with high ceiling double glazing, Sarking and R2.5 in roof). This unit works very well for both cooling and heating in extreme days. The inverter is quiet and so far have had no bill shocks.

WARNING
Should you choose Mitsubishi Heavy Industries air conditioners as I just did, watch this trap. Brand New products should come out of their Factory packaging in working order, right? Wrong! Out of two, I received two damaged units, from seemingly undamaged boxes. Surely it is reasonable to expect that new products do not to arrive in faulty condition and if they do, as mine did, they be immediately replaced. Not so at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries! Before I see my new purchases work, I have to go through the lengthy Warranty process. The installer...Read more
has his money, the Electrical Warehouse has been paid, now, before I find out what I've got for my money, I have to wait on the good pleasure of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Warranty system to run its snail's pace course. Warranty terms quickly insist I may be entitled to nothing. Never pay, until everything works correctly, is my new motto!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Does the temperature sensor work whilst using the unit in heating mode? or just in cooling mode?
I ask because as we are now approaching winter I am using the unit in heating mode, and it seems to completely ignore the temperature setting. So if I set it to heat to 23 for example, it just keeps eating and heating without stopping, last night it is heated the room up to 26 without stopping !

Hi Peter,
The temperature sensor (located within the wall mounted indoor unit) works in both heating and cooling mode. If you are are using a separate temperature sensor, it will produce a different reading to the temperature sensor within the unit itself given it being in a different location. If you find where you're located in the room is too hot (according to your separate temp sensor) we'd suggest reducing the temperature by a few degrees.
Hmmmm....I have a separate gas heating system which I am trying not to use. It has a temperature sensor which seems to be very aligned to my room thermometer. I can set the heat to, say, 24 degrees, and when it's sensor detects it had reached this temperature, it correctly cuts of the heating. The room thermometer at this time also reads 24 degrees. The thermometer is on an internal wall about 3 metres from the Mitsubishi. If I set the Mitsubishi to 24 degrees it doesn't stop! It is still pumping out heat when the room thermometer is now reading 28 degrees!!
This seems to be a very high margin of error!

Hi Peter,
If your room thermometer and the sensor for your independent heating system are in an area which directly receives heated air from the air conditioner, it may result in a higher temperature reading and might not be reflective of the average room temperature. There are a number of factors which influence room temperatures and airflow however if you are using two different sensors in different locations it's likely that you always have a discrepancy.
You may wish to try and deactivate the offset temperature on the unit by turning the unit on. Once it is on, you can press and hold the main power button on the indoor unit (not the remote) for 30s until you hear two beeps. Refer to the user manual for the location of the power button.
If you still believe there is an issue with your unit, you can submit a warranty service request on our website - https://mhiaa.com.au/consumer-help-centre/warranty/warranty-service-request/
