Customer services spam calls you
I inquired about a pet insurance quote a month ago, and after realising they charge twice the amount as their competitors (please do your research) I told them I was no longer interested. Every few days for the next several weeks they have been spam calling me to try and sign me up. I unsubscribed from all communication however I keep receiving spam calls from their number, which is different every time.
Avoid their overpriced insurance and spammy tactics. Would not recommend them to anyone!

Don’t bother!
Don’t bother trying to make a claim as they try and find any excuse not to cover it. They won’t cover my dog for a simple ear infection because he had ear mites 3 years ago even though my vet said it wasn’t caused by ear mites! When I emailed them they didn’t want to help me and now I have no reply. I am worried that if something serious happens to my dog they wont cover him :(

Dog insurance Excellent
My Consultant was extremely helpfull who answered all my questions. She went through the policy very patiently. As I have had a poor experience with a previous pet insurance provider therefore was hesitant and wanted to ensure this was the correct cover for my 9 week old puppy Diesel, and piece of mind for me. Thank you so much for all your help. I hope this is a start to a great relationship with RSPCA pet insurance.

The policy was very difficult to set up online as the system would not process it. After several attempts I had to ring a consultant which was again a protacted process.

Have never been so disappointed.
Sure, it is so easy to join up, they welcome you with open arms, easy peasy! But don't try to claim, they will wiggle their way out of anything. I think it is very sad that this company is flying on the shirt tails of such a worthy company as the actually RSPCA, who do a wonderful job. And did you know that an ingrown hair follicle would later on be deemed as a skin condition, so no cover for allergies etc. Really pathetic. Would not advise anyone to joint this insurance company.

Cover out of reach if you have multiple "high risk" pets
Have been with this insurance company for 3 to 4 years (different ages dogs). I haven't had any issues with claims upto date. My issue is the premiums have risen year after year as the pets get older; which is absolutely normal. What started at under $70 a fortnight has evolved into $100. I understand the risk grows with the animals getting older. But IMO almost 20% as a single year increase pushed me to consider saving that $2600 in a rainy day fund. At the current premium increase; I would be looking at heading towards $200 a fortnight once m...Read more
y dogs reach the age I'd really need cover. It took me 3 phone callsto cancel my policies; or at least they cancelled 1 of the 2. I had to phone back 2 weeks later once a payment for my second policy continued to be deducted. I was told by the sales team that i would get a call back once their customer service team were available. It didnt happen and I had to ring back the next day. This time my second policy was officially cancelled and once monies on their end were received; I would get a refund. Accidents happen but I thought it best cover my whole experience. I do appreciate they have recently changed their policies to mean there is no excess and you just have to pay the "gap" payment. Would have been nice when I had to pay a few grand for my dogs leg surgery; but at least it is their for future clients. I would somewhat recommend them as an insurance provider; but would be weary. Another note would be that I find it distasteful that first year premiums contribute to the RSPCA; which if you read it as it's written would indicate that is an far as their support goes.1 comment

Questions & Answers
littlepoppetasked
Dear RSPCA, I recently signed up for a policy for my puppy. Unfortunately, I had some issues with my bank card (and I completely overlooked my policy payments being declined), as a result my policy was cancelled. I had no idea this had happened as I still had a $50 claim processed in that time, once I did realise I attempted to fix it, however once I found the emails I realised I was two days outside of the cut off. - I spoke with a representative who very kindly created a new policy for me however she didn't explain that a new policy would likely be declined. She said the underwriting team would contact me to discuss but I didn't hear from them, I just got a letter declining cover.
I understand it was my fault the payments didn't process, however I was willing to pay any outstanding amounts and did offer to do this, but was advised to apply for a new policy. Is there any way that RSPCA might reconsider granting me a policy if I was to fix up any previous outstanding payments?

Why are you messing me around, my last claim was denied & then over turned & paid after lots of tooing & frowing on my behalf & NOW AGAIN my cat has gone to the vet for the exact same reason as my last claim was (which originally was a cat bite about 6 months ago which has now turned into a legion). They are even talking about amputation & you are DENYING THIS CLAIM AGAIN. I was assured after my last dealings with u that this would not happen again & iIT HAS i AM FRUSTRATED & ANGRY as to how I am being treated & expect you to review his claim again & get back to me ASAP..
