Eight Homes is currently offering a $100 Prepaid Visa gift card to customers encouraging either a positive or negative review based on their build experience. This started from December 1st 2017. It is possible that reviews were written by customers who received such reward. These reviews adhere to ieatwords’s Incentivised Customer Reviews Guidelines and may explain a spike in review numbers. Reviewers can only claim one gift card per build.

Is there any difference in the quality and workmanship from display homes and customers homes.???

LisaGEight Homes
Hi Pravin,
Regarding your question if there is a difference in quality and workmanship from display homes and customer homes, all houses need to meet the display home standard as well as the regulated standards. The home goes through a thorough inspection process prior to completion and we follow up with a thorough three month warranty inspection.
As always, we regularly communicate with our clients during construction and if there's any concerns all you need to do is let us know.
Pravin - Please feel free to get in touch with us [email protected] and we will be more than happy to assist you.
Kind Regards,
Bec
Yes!!! display homes are spotless and perfect....send me a pm and show you what you get.

We have just put our initial deposit of $888 down with eight homes, building the octave 32. All the displays seem to have that wood along the skirts over the floor boards. Do we have to have this? Cant they do the flooring and come back to do the skirts? This will be our forever home and whilst i LOVE everything else in the home i feel like this could make me not want to go ahead with them

We were told that the quads were the only way they could finish the laminate floors. This is the reason we chose to do our flooring after handover. That way we can get our skirts fitted after laminate is installed...the quads are an unsighlty finish.

To anyone who has built with or is building with Eight Homes!
Did they cover your water and electricity bills during the build stage or just the usage part leaving you to pay all the charges?
I have built with two different companies previously and have never had to pay any part of water or electric bills until after I move in!
3 answers
Hello Tammy, electricity is transferred to the owner at hand over and water was minimal charges. I believe water fees may differ from council to council.
They only cover the usage.

Anyone tell me about Eight homes. I am gong for sign final contract for a double storey but somehow I feel doubt about it. Please advise.

8 homes where great to deal with, kept us informed and the quality of the work is great
Read all reviews. Think carefully. I wouldn't build with them again. No pride in work. I wasn't happy with the finished home and certainly not happy with a collapsed ceiling joist and average workmanship

Hi 8 Homes. I’ve heard start dates after land settlement in the Geelong area can be up to 6 months! Is this correct? If not, what is the average start time after land settlement? Thank you

The major terrible thing that I am going through is final payment. Can any one give advise of it?
Have anyone been through the final stage with 8 home? They have the policy that I have to make the final payment before the home appliances installed, the rubbishes on site removed. The policy is NOT clearly mentioned or stated in the contract . And with other side, lender stated they need all the contract works to be completed with all materials and appliances installed BEFORE sending the final claim. What should I do?
I am currently going through the final stage with 8 home. It such a nightmare.
*The ACTUAL total construction days are excessed the days which stated on the contract.
*Things not getting done on time as promised.
* Ignored my emails
* Site supervisor been changed to different people and so many time without informing owner. And they did not pass things to the replacing supervisor before they left the position. Lack of communication.

Does 8homes use raft or waffle slabs?
3 answers
I think it ultamitely depends on your block but we had a waffle slab
LisaGEight Homes
Hi there joziegrozy,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Which type of slab we use does depend on your block requirements. To answer your question, generally we use waffle however, we have used raft in the past due to site requirements. I hope this answers your question!

I have chosen 8homes to build house for me. My sales quotation is final but they have given me building contract signing date after 1 month. Is this normal time frame? I don't find any reason why it will take 1 month? Due to financial reasons I need this building sign contract asap.
3 answers
Hi Chy, if you go through the color selection, it will take well over a month. Our took about 1.5 months. If you pick a colorboard from the display, it should take a month to draw your plan as per selection and prepare the contract.
Thx for your response..I didn't go for anything..mine was pretty straight forward..but still they have given me time on next month..I am frustrated...they are making lots of excuses
4 weeks to prepare Master Builder contract is standard. All builders we spoke to, we were told 4-6 weeks to prepare contract. there are lot of work to be completed for contract. Engineering, design etc which takes few weeks. I understand you have a reason to be quick. hope Eight Homes can help by manking it quicker. All the best.
Tintinasked
Can I please ask what is the direct email address of 8 home's complain department? I sent a complain letter to 8 home customer service but I also would like to make sure complain will be seen and issues can be addressed ASAP. The staff who responsible my job is not reliable and trust able at all. Not replying your email, not follow up for your requesting, ignore your question, arguing with you, lying, never does what she promise or does it in other way. It just too frustrating. I need someone can help me with this situation.

Hi Tintin, there is no detail for any complain contract detail on their website. They have a customer service officer Bec who monitor this site so you should get a reply soon. If you have sent a letter already, I will suggest to give 48 hours to action otherwise write up a review here detailing the issue. I think they dont like negetive review online and will act on your concern pretty quick. Hope things gets addressed with you promtly. All the best.

Hi
I am building with eight homes in atherstone estate lot [Personal Information removed]. I did choose a niche to be built in my family room in a s six house. I choose the niche from the display home and I asked the sales consultant that I want same niche in my house. He put it in my qoute. He added the wrong description of this niche instead of 500 mm deep he put it 90mm niche. I did not get the final drawing copy until the day of my contract so I couldn't check the dimensions and on contract day I was rushed by admin to sign the documents asap. I asked my admin [Name Removed] to fix the niche but she said I have signed the plan drawings .Now please tell me how can I check every single dimension on the plan and sign all the documents in two hours? I don't want any bad experience from eight homes so please fix these little issues.
Thanks

Hi, yes you are required to verify every single measurement in drawings as if you catch their mistake they will say you signed!!! we had a good drawings at contract, then other set of drawing got made due to a variation done by builder, we did not check and they had changed some measurements not related to change and when we noticed the wrong measurement we were treated as if we were in the wrong for pointing their mistake!
Thanks Eight homes to rectify the issues, great response, quick action.

Hi Gullu,
I am currently building Ace plan. I have replaced the standard stairs with a open riser timber stair case. The stair is pricey, but it creates more room in the family area.
