Con men.
My partner went there for a replacement wheel ended up costing $170 when all it needed was a tyre and tube.
it broke within months after taking it to a trustworthy place they were disgusted by the "workmanship" of 99bikes preston.
Avoid these con men at all costs.

The customer assistance provided form 99bikes Browns plains store was outstanding,
I highly recommend 99bikes, as they have the best bikes and parts. I always chose this store because the customer assistance is outstanding. All my bikes have a bit of their produced parts, also I like home grown brand " PEDAL " Brisbane's bike company owned by 99bikes.

Great bikes at great prices but don't use the workshop
This store is my local bike shop so I try to support them. I've spent over $4K there by my calculations and have purchased some very nice bikes for the family at very competitive prices. The purchase experience is usually very good. The staff are helpful and always make sure the bike is properly fitted, which is an absolute must. They're good about letting you go for a decent test ride, which is also an absolute must.
Unfortunately any goodwill generated during the sale is rapidly burnt by the after sales support in the workshop. These gu...Read more
ys are overworked, in a hurry, stressed and often come across with a roll-the-eyes blame-the-customer attitude. They're either too busy to do a good job, or incompetent. I'm not sure which. Every single bike I've purchased has been so poorly assembled that I've needed to take it back soon after purchase for adjustment. Not only are the problems rarely fixed, new ones seem to be created. My most recent bike went in 2 weeks after purchase for a rattly internal cable (which couldn't be fixed) and came back with front mech shifting issues. The tech was very defensive and blamed me but on further inspection the big chain ring had 2 badly damaged teeth and needed a warranty replacement. He suggested that I'd damaged the chain ring myself and Shimano might not come to the party which was completely false. 2.5 weeks later I was informed that my bike was ready to pick up with the new components covered by Shimano. When the tech wheeled the bike out it was clear that he had been WORKING ON THE WRONG BIKE! My bike was still not fixed when he finally located it. He tried to fix it while I waited but was clearly flustered and couldn't find the correct parts. In the process he managed to drop my new bike on the floor without an apology or even cursory inspection for damage, just a comment of 'that'd be right'. A second bike leaning against the wall was also knocked over while I watched. I think I know how those chain ring teeth were damaged now...... I'm horrified at the lack of care and responsibility. I'm thinking of purchasing a new front chain ring myself and taking the bike to a proper workshop. I'll be out of pocket but at least my pride and joy will be safe in my care.Similar opinion? Good store for a bike but service is a bit pricy.
They are very good at what they do and helped to choose a good electric bike which I ride to college. It’s fast and reliable but the service is very expensive.

Affordable Bulk Bike Parts and Tools
Purchased a Shimano HG50 sprocket, a Shimano HG40 chain, and a BBB Nautilus chain breaker tool from 99 Bikes. All components were reasonably priced and the customer service was excellent.

Service received when Tacx trainer gave trouble
My Tacx Flux trainer was making strange noises and I took it into 99 Bikes at Capalaba. The sent it away and had it replaced with a brand new one. They removed the cassette and quick release before sending it and returned same to me once the product had arrived.

Service department
Just had my mine and my wifes mountain bikes serviced by Colin at the south melbourne store. I have to say my experience from the moment I walked Into the store with what were 2 very much neglected once loved comp bikes Colin took over and with interested scrutiny, came up with a cost effective way of getting them back to a condition where we can enjoy them again. Colins passion and "can do" attitude is a credit to himself and the store lucky enough to have him.
I'll be back and will recommend in a heartbeat anyone who is looking for bike service.

Honest and Professional Service with bike repairs.
Given my experience with David, he is an honest and dependable bike mechanic who won’t rip you off! I know zilch about bikes and bought a bike thinking it only had, minor problems. David told me the bad news about numerous things needing to be fixed, but I decided I didn’t want to overcapitalise, given the bike was second hand.

99 bikes lie about having price matching policy then refuse to price match.
I went to 99 bikes Elizabeth st Brisbane city to buy a ninebot es4 electric scooter. I went there because they had a finance option but there was another shop advertising the ES4 over $100 cheaper. I asked in store if they had a price matching policy, the guy said sometimes but not this time, he said the other store was too cheap and they couldn't match the price. 99 bikes sold me the scooter for just over $100 more than the competitors advertised price.
When I got home I searched online to see if 99 bikes do have a price matching policy, whi...Read more
ch they do. So I filled out the online price matching form. Here is the thing, an ES4 is just an ES2 AND an external battery. There is no scooter that comes in a box that says ES4. When I got my ES4 99 bikes billed it as an ES2 and an extra battery. 99 bikes refused to price match because they say I didn't buy an ES4 as my receipt says ES2! so sneaky. At every turn they just tried to close out my request for price match. So I filled out a new price match request, this time for an ES2 as the competitors shop also sells the ES2 for over $100 less than 99 bikes. Now 99 bikes are ignoring the ES2 price matching request. 99 bikes is the most unethical bike store I have ever dealt with. They lied to me in store about having a price matching policy then they gave me the run around through their website, trying to close my request and any available chance. I will not be shopping there again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love my bikes thanks 99 bikes
Read the bad reviews and was wary, but actually someone at another shop told us to come here as they bought their bikes here. And I’m so glad we did (Kawana store). It was our fourth bike/sport shop but as we walked up, we immediately received attentive service, talked us all the way through prices, bikes, sizes and so forth. We joined the club (for $5 one time fee, not sure what the big deal there is), so we got the ‘special’ prices but he also gave us a further discount, put a basket on right then and there, spent time fitting the bikes in the car....in short excellent friendly chilled service. Highly recommend. Maybe sometimes someone is having an off day but we had good experience. Will just go there from now on.

Great service
We found 99 bikes Artarmon to be professional and helpful. Casey did an excellent job advising us on the difference between electric bikes and we chose one suited to my husband’s needs. The prices were competitive too . He and Flynn worked for ages on getting a good fit for the new bike carrier on our rusted tow hitch. We would recommend 99 bikes.

8) Got the bike home and what do you think happened?
9) Drove it back to the shop and I waited again so I didn’t have to drive back and pick it up. The mechanic did a full brake service that usually costs around $50.

Terrible customer service at Stanmore shop
A sales consultant was incredibly unhelpful and obnoxious when we visited (2/6/19) to report a repeated fault in a new bike, insisting it was “user error” without seeing the bike.

Good bike, excellent service
Bought a Merida 20D from 99 bikes at North Lakes. Excellent customer service, explained the bike, rode the bike, follow up service the bike. All staff knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Compared with another bike shop where the young attendant had no idea of what he was talking about and offered no service.
