Not impressed
Have had this for almost two years and really not that happy. Outside motor is rather noisy, the actron connect app rarely works, uneven air through ducts, nothing really that happy with . The installers aren't even interested in checking it out. Had other brands previously but thought I would try action. Wish I hadn't.

Unacceptable noise from the Compressor-Very Unhappy-Update 5/8/18, Very Happy
The noise from the compressor, which constantly cuts in and out every 5 seconds, is totally unacceptable. We have had to build a sound barrier around ours costing more money and it is still bloody noisy. Very disappointing given the literature states it is quiet. The installer and Actron have been out, done all their sound measurements and it is all within their stated literature. Well the literature can't explain grinding, scraping, vibration and tick ticking noises every 4/5 seconds. I'm hoping the bills live up to their literature as we awai...Read more
t our first winter one! The cooling and heating work well and the installers were great. We will continue to pursue reducing the noise further. UPDATE. Actron, under warranty issued sound reduction kit for installation which was carried out on 3/8/18 by Design Air. Very happy customer now.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beware of Digital Scroll compressor technology. It is very energy inefficient and noisy
I researched replacement of my ducted air conditioning units very closely and discovered some very misleading information which I feel obligated to bring to the attention of the market.
Actron and some other manufacturers make three different technologies. These technologies vary in the way the compressor regulates the supply of the gas to the evaporator to maintain the set temperature. The three technologies have significant differences in power usage efficiency and noise levels.
Actron have the Standard, ESP Plus and ESP Platinum models.

Very Noisy and vibrates
I was very impressed with the sales pitch, and generally, I am very happy with the unit, but I can clearly hear it start up and it is unusable at night in the bedroom. If you are after a quiet unit, keep away from Actron Air, but if this is not a consideration, this is as good as it gets.

Love it and so do our neighbours
Four weeks ago we replaced our 15 year old air conditioning system for an Actron Air ESP model. We are delighted at how nicely it cools our home on hot days and at its whisper quiet operation. The old unit was louder than a jet on take off while running and made us feel guilty about the noise we were inflicting on our neighbors when we ran it. Now we can enjoy cool comfort without guilt, also knowing that our electricity bills will be much lower as the ESP design makes this unit much more efficient than the old one even though both have the same 23 kW capacity compressor.
We believe we made a good decision to purchase an Actron Air unit, even though it was not cheap, expecting many years of good service.

Complete Dud
We rarely used the system and for the first two years it was ok, although the air distribution was not even throughout the house.
Then drama after drama with it barely working. Lots of expensive service calls which actually seemed to make things worse, really!
We purchased the supposed Rolls Royce version but I think it's more like Kia Rio on 1 cylinder.
In short, dud product, lots of promises, servicemen who didn't seem to know what they were doing and super expensive for an appalling experience - look elsewhere! You've been warned.

Excellent performance in every respect
Our home is 22 years old. The original owners installed an ActonAir ducted system. We have owned the home for 10 years. The original system performed without fault until winter 2015 when a control board on the outside unit failed after 21 years. The replacement part was going to cost over $600 so we opted to install a replacement ESP Plus system because it offered greater energy efficiency. The ability to close down to a single zone is brilliant. The new system was installed in November 2015 with all parts replaced except the return duct and fi...Read more
lter. The system has effortlessly handled it's first summer and winter. The total average daily electricity consumption of our house is just under 10kWh (we have a gas hot water system and cooktop) which indicates that the system does run very efficiently. The original ActronAir system was installed by Nicholls Air in Seven Hills and we used them to supply and install the new system. Nicholls Air has provided good service and seems to 'know what they are doing'. If the ESP Plus system has a 'problem' it's that it is so so so quiet you have to put a hand up to a duct to be convinced it is running!! From a user perspective, the biggest plus is the extreme evenness of the temperature control. There is no hiatus caused by the system cutting in and out as the thermostat controls the temperature around the set level.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Really bad system and customer service, creating issues under the 5 year warranty
Called for service as the display was showing E9 constantly as an error and also loud clicking noises in all the rooms where ducts are when unit turned on for half an hour. Was charged by Actron for $165, they explained that the return air ducts, 1 totally collapsed( probably due to someone walking on it) and 1 functioning at 50%. They didn't fix the clicking noise and advised that a quote would be sent in 3 days. Quote came back for $839 and so we got another company to repair and replace return air ducts for $300! The new repairer advised tha...Read more
t the return air duct had clearly been cut(dodgy) and there's no way it would have been caused by someone walking on it as there's plenty of space in the roof so there's no reason why someone would have to walk on the return air duct. Since the ducts were replaced, E9 error still shows and the clicking noise still persists. For a system that's under 5 years old and giving problems, would definitely go for another brand and to think they might have done something dodgy just does not give me any confidence in the Actron business. Will definitely lodge a complaint with ACCC to prevent other customers from being ripped off.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Actron DisConnect
It has been two months since the installation of the Air Conditioner started. It seems no-one can get the wireless control app ActronConnect to work. I've had the installers come over four different times specifically to connect it. They've climbed into the roof space and reset the WiFi module a dozen times. They've replaced the WiFi module. They got someone from Actron to come out and have a go. I've replaced my router. The app keeps crashing. Actually, that's giving it too much credit. By saying it crashes, I'm implying that at some point it ...Read more
functions. It doesn't even connect to the A/C. It malfunctions before it makes any connection. It malfunctions before you even start inputting your WiFi details into it. I have never seen such a badly written app. The actual A/C unit is a bit better. It works. Most of the time. It has crashed a couple of time with an E9 code in the few weeks that we had it working. At one point during the installation, it turned out the fan motor was defective and the installers took it out of the roof cavity and brought a replacement one. The control panel is nicely laid out, but the build quality is poor and the buttons don't always work. Actron Air gives a bad name to Made in Australia.Similar opinion? very good
We had our ActronAir ducted system installed by A Grade Air Conditioning at Seven Hills early Dec.2015. The system works very well and quickly cools the house on the hottest of Western Sydney days. A Grade were prompt and courteous and I thoroughly recommend ActronAir and A GRADE Air Conditioning.

No after service care
Air conditioner works great. After service .... There is none. Our unit was very noisy. Our installer got someone out to check it. The service guy admitted it was louder than usual and he would recommend a noise reduction jacket for it. After hearing nothing for months I contacted our installer again. Took him a while to find out that Actron decided it wasn't noisy enough for them to supply a noise jacket for free like we were told.... But we could buy one for over $400 dollars. Would never recommend them to anyone. Not because of the unit, that's fine, but because of the lousy non existent after care

Its great
I just had the system recently installed and its very quiet. It cools the house quickly especially in these hot summer days. I'm so glad I have it now and look forward to cooler summer days indoor. Also the price was very afforable for the system and very easy to use.

sad and sorry
We bought it in 2007 for the price of a brand new small car. Within the first 2 months, it broke down during the hottest period over Christmas. It just blew air, no cold air, just air. It was repaired under warranty.
We have had it serviced every year. And has worked well for these proceeding years. Then the other evening when we arrived home after work, turning it on, only hot air came out. The company we bought it through is no longer, but I finally found someone who could come out and he states that it is the compressor that is gone. A bil...Read more

Worst air conditioner ever
Ever since I built my house in 2010 I have had nothing but problems with this ducted air conditioner . I have had The installers Pact heating & cooling out every year since I have had it and it fails every year when we need it the most . We gave the same issue every year where it just starts blowing warm air, they add more coolant and say see how it goes & then it lasts for the rest of the summer & the next year the same thing happens ! Now of course it's out of warranty & I have to pay to fix the same problem it had when it was first insta...Read more
lled . Acton came out to have a look and two years ago & said nothing was wrong . Well I tell you when it's hotter inside than outside with the air conditioner on full there is an issue !! this thing cost me nearly $14k when I built the house & it has only given me grief & the after sales service just want a quick fix & get out & now Pact are saying perhaps get someone else !! It is the worst experience I have had on s major purchase & hope no one else has to go trough the same especially with a young family in this heat !!Similar opinion? Couldn't survive without my ActronAir
Going into our 4th summer with our ActronAir ESP ducted system that hasn't missed a beat since it was installed. So pleased we choose an Australian made product that is reliable & delivers what the manufacturer advertises. Using the ESP mode really does make a difference to our power bill. The controller is very easy to use, you don't need a degree. What a savour in the heat & fantastic for the cold months. Well done ActronAir!

Fantastic product
We had this unit installed and could not be happier, works great, does the job and we also had actron connect added, on our way home from Sydney just click on the app and turn the system on, East Coast Air in Maitland installed it and were the utmost professionals, I don't think you can go past this brand on quality, price and user friendliness, I let the experts advise me on the correct size for my situation and was a little hesitant on there recommendation, I actually thought it was too small, but they got it right, I would recommend this bra...Read more
nd to anyone that wants to listen. UPDATE, 1 month after instal and Actron contacted us to say they had a reason to believe the compressor in ours was a possible problem and it may only last 5 to 8 years, so they sent out East Coast Air from Maitland and had it replaced, all done professionally and quickly, still no problems and I did notice our electricity bill had dropped from last year, we had a split system in and it was costing a fortune, hopefully summer will be cheap as well. Also we had the module put in so we can turn this on and off from anywhere as long as my internet is working. In the event that you use East Coast Air from Maitland, ensure they will carry out your yearly service, we signed a contract with them to have it done and they have now told us it is too far to travel, Actron 10/10, East Coast Air 4/10,Similar opinion? Nothing but trouble since DAY1
Australian disgrace is what I would say about the Actron ESP+.
Since day 1 the unit has been a problem with "loading and unloading" noise which is so bad you can hear it over 15m away out on the public street, not to mention noise that keeps you awake when it is working at night and neighbours complain about noise.
Installer say's it is normal.
Repairs since new in October 2013
20th Jan 2014 after noise complaints and several visits by installer the unit was relocated off wall mountings onto concrete pads on ground.
Effect:- NIL.

Another repair
I had my SRV15 fail with the deaded soft-start capacitor failure in the compressor (fan works, but compressor doesn't start). This was fixed under warranty the first time, but the fridge mechanic stated that it was a common problem with them.
The second time I called Actron and they wouldn't fix it out of warranty, even though it appears to be a design flaw. When I started calling repairers, they all suspected the soft-start capacitor straight away.

Update after Two years
We reviewed this Actron Air Plus, after we had it installed. It broke down in less than six months after installation. I must say though after 2 years now...it has been PERFECT. Not an ounce of problems. Very efficient, and keeps the whole house really cool in summer. Wonderful unit. I don't regret purchasing the Actron.

I have an Actron Air ESP approximately 7 years old. It is displaying E9 and won’t let out cool air. Does this mean the filter needs cleaning?

Hi, this could have many reasons but not the filter. Could be the soft starter or more. It threw my ESP out and replaced it with a Daikan. Much better quality and cheaper. I had nothing but problems with it. It was a money trap.
