They don't care as long as they get paid
My contract with belong is nearly over and can't come any sooner. If you want to pay for a month's use and only get a week solid connection then belong is for you. Don't get stuck with them like me.

Entering week 6 of no internet service with them tomorrow. Countless attempts from their staff have failed, as well as a new modem. Im actually perfectly connected to the NBN. The issue is Belong.

my contract. The staff are taught to trap you and fee you, and that its. That said, one staff member actually leveled with me and agreed their company is terrible. Its not his fault. He was a nice guy and felt embarrassed to work there, and it makes you feel embarrassed to be a customer. The best example I have is my modem internet light has been flashing, thus not connected, yet staff suggested i run a speed test... Its an awful feeling to know the person helping you knows less about networking than you do. Please go under and dissolve.1 comment

Great in start but than became hopeless
5 years ago when I initially signed up it was absolutely fabulous...just like when you buy a new car but with passage of time ...the true colours staring to reveal ...
Belong has lost its identity & should change its name from “Belong” to “Lost” as that’s how they made my experience with them....
No correspondence via email and customer service is hopeless :(

Very poor!
I commenced a broadband plan with Belong a week ago. Very quick to send out my modem which was great however it has gone downhill from here.
I am unable to get my wifi to connect work despite having all appropriate NBN connections. Have attempted all recommended trouble shooting instructions with no success.
The customer hotline is down ‘due to COVID’ therefore I have submitted a contact request form... To then be informed it may take up to 10 days to get a response. So I am paying for a service that doesn’t work and I am unable to get any help. The customer service with Belong Broadband has been nothing but a negative experience thus far. Wish me luck.

Appalling customer service.
Absolutely appalling service, nothing but problems from getting connected (Despite the physical connection being completed 3 months prior) through to changing the address on my account.
Everystep of the way they make promises and excuses and not a single person can pick up your problem understand it and follow it through. Unbelievable.
After being promised a refund for the 3 months we didn't have internet. it took numerous half hour conservations to get any sort of credit.

Useless.
The internet has been on and off and is extremely unreliable. Due to COVID-19, their call centre is closed, which is annoying but what is even more annoying is that they take 2 weeks to reply to you or even get back to you. Please look for a different provider, these guys are extremely unreliable. Don't expect to get any credit for the outage either. They're getting free money for a service that BARELY works!

Non responsive and charges for no service.
I have tried contacting them over numerous occasions and mediums. First time over phone but they had sent everyone from their call centre home, fair enough. I then sent a support request via their website on 4/4 but no response, so sent another on 7/4. Its now 28/4 and I still have not received any contact from the company. I have also attempted to contact them twice via Facebook on 2 occasions, both were ignored. It is worth having a look at their Facebook page, there are numerous unhappy customers who have not received any contact for months ...Read more
and require their internet service to keep themselves in employment. Belong will not respond but continue to charge you. Your only option will be to contact an ombudsman. Also, if you are looking for a good Internet service provider, go with Tangerine. They let you bring your own Modem, have the cheapest prices and better speed than Belong, and also are extremely responsive.2 comments

Worst Customer Service Everrrr
It's been nearly a month that Belong deducted $300 for NBN connection for our new house but to date we still don't have the NBN connected. Upon asking NBN, they told us that they haven't received the payment from Belong yet.
Since we can't call anyone from Belong, I did so many support requests, and idiots like (Arl) and others just ask for information but never gets back.
Definitely, gonna be using some other provider...

Behind a NAT
Please note you will not just have a dynamic IP but will be behind a NAT. This can cause you a lot of issues. You will be forces to pay the extra $5 to get the static IP just to make some website work.
For the techies out there, Belong will use multiple public IP addresses to send you browser request to servers. This can cause you to get authentication failures as only the initial IP was authenticated.
To sum up add $5 and you will have a normal internet connection, speeds good. Terrible customer service (Just like all the ISP's in Australia (Except Internode)).

No easy tech support
Been connected 10 days, only using for home based work but internet light started flashing and now sync, internet and LAN all off. Tried every trouble shoot but no success. I’m an essential service worker and to potentially wait 10 days for a response Is not good enough, especially if eg the brand new modem is faulty.
I might add the first 8 days it worked a treat.

Worst experience ever
I tried to get belong NBN at my house, but it took so long to get a service, that i decided to go with another provider TPG and got connected after a few days. I send multiple emails and text, attempted phone calls to Belong to cancel the order since i got connected to TPG.
Suddenly after 3 weeks later, Belong decided to process the order and disconnected my perfectly working NBN service with TPG (even after i send them notice to cancel the order). and now TPG cant get the service back up because Belong don't respond. TPG support center said...Read more
NBNco cant transfer back unless Belong cancels the transfer. Now I got no internet. Flashing green light
Been with belong for over a year now and never had any issues. For 2 days now however the 'internet' light on the modem is flashing and WIFI has been disconnected. No one to answer phone calls is really disappointing, and I have seen many people on chat groups saying they are waiting up to and longer than 3 weeks just to hear back from anyone. I will be cancelling before the beginning of next month if no one has made any contact, and if money is taken out of my account before anyone has reached out to me, I will be speaking to the office of fair trading. I used to like you belong but this isnt good enough.

Up and running in under a week now not working stars will go down
Signed up on Sunday 19th of april 2020 working as of now Friday 24th April
So far so good no complaints. It seems to be working pretty fast did a speed test I'm getting 36mbps. But I am downloading a PlayStation update so that could be slowing down the speed maybe ?
Edit can't connect to PlayStation network anymore...worked for about a week ....can't contact support . Avoid this isp at all costs . My product rating will be going down one star a day for everyday they don't contact me.

Doesn't have any add-ons
I was thinking of switching my NBN provider to Belong. Had a look at their website and gave them a call. After dealing with a robot for 1/2 an hour I finally connected with a human. The price is very attractive at first sight, but (Spoiler alert) it turns out you pay $65 per month for only internet. No Landline, No TV Entertainment, No International Calls only Internet. Seriously belong? If you need add-ons, I would recommend you to not waste your time with belong and consider bigger providers like Optus, iinet or Belong's owner company Telstra, who has a way better NBN plan then Belong.

Very frustrated!!!
I signed up with belong last March 10, 2020 and up to now no internet yet, a technician managed to connect the nbn box yesterday and said I need to wait for another 7 days to actually get the precious internet connection. My son is doing an online learning. Contacting them is a nightmare and always reason out due to COVID pandemic.
Be the judge people if you BELONG.

Don't do it to yourself. I have aged a decade since dealing with their nonsense
Signed up for internet on the 29/03 along with a whole bunch of Aussies now working from home. Received my modem only a few days later- sweeeet. Hadn't heard anything so about 10 days later I lodged a support request. Never heard anything back. At this stage I noticed a status change on the app - "we're sorry we haven't completed your order. We're following this up for you" yada yada yada.
On the 15th of April I received a missed call - they chose not to leave a msg. When calling their number back (0399296200) it says that the network is busy....Read more

Horrible and useless.
Internet is horrible and barely usable. It took them way to long to ship a cable over so we just had to buy one instead. The reliability is poor as well, even when doing small tasks like internet browsing. Forget about playing any games or watching Netflix. It's ridiculous that it advertises itself as NBN when It's below standard for even average wifi. I tried contacting them twice but they said they've stop call centers due to coronavirus even though I've seen them reply to other reviews saying to call them recently.

over 3 weeks since I joined and STILL NOT ACTIVATED and no help in resolving this
I called Telstra around March 29th to swap from them to Belong and they set up my new account for Belong NBN. I was told on the phone I would not be charged for the Modem and I would not need to pay the $300 new NBN connection fee as I had already done this with Telstra 2 years ago when I moved into my new build home. Brilliant I said. 2 days later they have taken $360 off my credit card, $300 for an NBN installation I DO NOT REQUIRE and $60 for a Modem I was told would be free of charge. 12 E-mails including support requests, help requests...Read more

An NBN technician appointment was made for April 9 which I did not require so I e-mailed Belong and sent support requests 6 times before that date to tell them to cancel this as it was not required and to refund my $300 fee. Neither was done. The NBN technician turned up on April 8.....A day earlier than the set appointment. He said "I don't need to be here you already have NBN". To which I replied "Yes I know mate, tell Belong to refund my $300 they took from my credit card because I paid that $300 2 years ago when you set up my initial connection to the property and it is a ONE OFF FEE and send me an activation code so I can plug in my Modem and start using their service". He said OK and left. I then get an E-mail from belong a few days later stating the address was incorrect on my NBN technician order and my service could not be activated. Is this a joke company your running or what?????!!!!!! In the past week I have had multiple replies to my support requests all stating the same old rubbish "Reply to this e-mail if you still require assistance, if not this matter will be closed". What the hell.....You have not resolved any issues, you have not answered any questions I asked in my 12 plus support requests and e-mails, you have not refunded the $300 you charged to my credit card without my permission nearly 3 weeks ago for an nbn installation I told you I did not require, you have not activated my nbn and you charged me for a modem I was told would be free. Without a doubt the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of TRYING to deal with. you should be ashamed of yourselves in this time of a global pandemic when people are having to be very careful with their money and you are taking it without permission then not refunding it and refusing to communicate any kind of resolution or assistance. Then you have the nerve to send me 2 e-mails requesting my feedback on your service hahahahaha what a joke!!!! Give me back my $300!!!! Activate my nbn service!!! So im guessing i won't be hearing anything for a week again when you will reply with "this matter is now closed" the ONLY reason your quicker on here at replying (still with no resolution to my problem or a refund of my $360) is because it's a public forum and your company is trying to look like your helping people. When in actual fact you are not. I want my $360 refunded, my order cancelled and you can have your modem back. Awful product. Awful service. Didn't bother sending modem for over a month. Took money a month before the agreement was due to begin. Asked for calls back but have no phone number to be called on. Internet lasts about 15 minutes before dropping out.

Still trying to get someone to talk to me. A phone number, anything, a person. Nothing. I bet that they won’t have an issue collecting direct debits though in a few days when they are due. Frauds.

Apparently resolved and closed my still unresolved issues
Emailed many requests for a technician to be organised to be sent out but the keep closing my request without any resolution. My cord has been eaten and i need it replacing... I cant even see where they think they have responded because nothing it there see. I need a technician appt made please... and please don't respond with a generic reply.

I had no issues connecting, was actually really surprised, but when I had an issue they were a nightmare to deal with. Keep saying theyll do something or follow something up or call you back to resolve or escalate and literally did nothing until I contacted the ombudsman. Hopeless
