NBN installation

We needed to install NBN as the current ADSL was going to be switched off. Contacted Mate who arranged for the NBN installer to come to our address on a Saturday. Sceptical in light of the current crisis.
True to their word NBN was at location at 8am. Reviewed the location for connection and proceeded to install a separate line to existing line, (with another ISP ) so that we would not be without internet in case things did go to plan.
All installed and after 1 hour wait and discussion with Mate to ensure modem configured correctly (BYO Modem) received text message to say all was working. Rebooted modem and we where away.
Great support and service all within 4 days. Could not have been easier. Great work.

Quality service at a great price.

I was tired of wasting hours getting nowhere with foreigner call centres and that is what brought me to Mate about 18 months ago.
Since then I have enjoyed fast and reliable nbn at a great price with only a few drop outs?? solved with a modem reset.
The staff have always been friendly and eager to help or offer advice.
And the bonus is you’re supporting local jobs and local business.
Hands down, the best (of many) ISP’s I’ve had over the years.

I signed on with Mate a few years ago and have never once had a single moment of doubt that they are the BEST. Any issue is resolved fast and correctly They call you right back when you need them They dont leave you on hold and they are Aussie boys at the end of the line !!! I leave the country periodically and have to disconnect and re start on return I was quite concerned as with any other companies this is always costly and a nightmare. With Mate it has been super easy. This company is 5 star excellent all the way

Like every Internet provider there was a few issues, it's expected some times, and they dealt with the problem immediately. They sent a technician on the next day to fix it for me. The service they provide is much better than big Internet providers in Australia. Very happy with that, I would give more than 5 stars.
In every company there are issues and a good company deals with them professionally. Good Job!

Excellent Friendly Service

Changing NBN providers almost ended in disaster 4 days ago when the one we chose let us down and couldn't provide personal service to help. A family members experience put us on to MATE and we have been provided with great prompt service via phone calls and are now Great Mates with this provider. We will soon take up the offer of mobile plans soon. This is a great company I can't speak highly enough of the 3 staff members I have spoken to. This is an Australian based firm with a local call centre.

Very reliable internet service. Was so impressed with the efficient and prompt customer service we have bundled everything with Mate - home phone, mobiles and internet. No issues with service or speed which is a huge improvement on previous service provider constantly telling us we live in a black spot and that was the best we could expect . As I am not tech savvy it is refreshing to have a provider set up the modem so all I had to do was plug it in. Always provides updates at every stage of changeover to Mate and detailed step by step and FAQ information very useful. Thank you for the great service.

Connection is reliable, rarely have issues. I've had to call the support team twice - once with set-up issues and again with a modem problem. Mate offer a call-back service (meaning your not sat on hold going nuts), and the team are friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. Can't fault the service I've received so far.

Working very well all I can say from almost 3 years, customer care service is local and very helpful nice/polite people thanks guys. Keep Australia going. Also using postpaid mobile connection 2months now for $25/mo with$10 discount from NBN cheapest than most.

Really good customer service; outstanding internet connection

First off: the internet with Mate has been superb. The only outage I've had was when the power went out for the whole suburb. No dropped connections and very rarely is it ever slow.

Secondly: Mate's customer service has been absolutely fantastic. They've helped me resolve multiple issues extremely fast. I cannot stress how great it is to be with a provider that doesn't make you feel like you're climbing uphill just to get a resolution. I'm very happy with Mate.

I've recently joined mates NBN plan & I'm quite satified with the connection reliability & speed. I was with mates in the past on adsl plan & that was great too. Hence decided to sign up with them again!

There are usually no issues. However there is a slow connection during peak hours, this is as advertised so not surprised. One of the better internet companies i have seen.

Unfortunately can’t give zero stars

My service is dropping out for no reason. They will not assist with troubleshooting the issue and want 3-5 days to investigate!!! All other carriers assist immediately. They’ve now cancelled my service rather than fix it however I have not been compensated for no service. They are only contactable limited hours and not available Sundays. Exceptionally rude and difficult to deal with. Go elsewhere.

Reliable service

Had to connect to NBN so chose Mate and I am glad that I did. I have HCF connections and bought my own router. Mate organised everything with NBN for the technician to come. I configured router by myself but they do offer a help as well. It was very easy and straightforward process. Connection is stable don't have any dropouts, I choose unlimited and NBN100, on average my speed at evening is 70Mbps. When you call they very approachable. They using a lots of "mate" word

No drop outs that I know of. Happy with the speed too. Anytime I've had a question the phone I spoke to a human about my problem and it was solved.

I have been with mate internet for about 6 months
I have found the service and speed to be very good.
They may not be the cheapest out there but when you speak to support, you hit an ozzie.
It makes a big difference to me to not have to battle thru a language barrier, and your keeping people employed here. For me a thumbs up

I had low hopes for NBN, but the speed is better than expected at 40+ upload. The MATE team was helpful in organising NBN installation and kept me up to date with progress over the month or so it took to get everything set up.

I’m really happy with Mate. The service is great and there have been no drop outs. I had some issues connecting my own router but Mate talked me through it and made connecting easy. Great customer care, highly recommend.

Would lile to thank the good mate team. Helpful and punctual. Fixed an issue with NBN fault in a very short timeframe. Our Internet never drops out and does not suffer any speed restrictions.

NBN 50 (Best Mates)

I will be moving into a brand new building with no ADSL or NBN available. I would like to know about a wireless connection - am looking at the best mates fixed wireless? what does this mean? I have a modem, was presuming that all I would need is a sim card?

We can confirm Fixed Wireless is a type of nbn service, however, we don't offer wireless broadband.

NBN 50 (Best Mates)

At 7pm on the eve of me changing over to MATE, I thought I'd give MATE a call to see if there was anything I should know prior to my changeover. Well, the person I spoke to was annoying. He insisted on speaking over me all the time, and kept reciting over and over that because I was changing over on the 24th, [which is TODAY] there was nothing he would add. All I wanted to know was how will I be notified of my new log in and password and how long would I be without a connection, as it has been mentioned to me that sometimes it could be done within an hour. He almost accused me of lying, and that it could take up to three business days, and that he would review the tapes. He kept talking to me like I was some idiot. I was not amused, and almost threw in the towel there and then. His arrogance was astounding. You could do better hiring more pleasant people to handle your calls. I hope this wasn't a sign of things to come? Have I made a dreadful mistake, as I see others have had a difficult time with your service. Should I have gone to someone else? [639347]

Hey buddy, that sucks, the people I have spoken to have always been great. I can suggest emailing them, they answer really quick and there shouldn’t be communication errors that way.
