Hi Skymesh tonight I watched three episodes of a Netflix series ( I have no TV) and it used 9 gb of my data. Is this normal how can I tell my usage rate not my allowance? As I am in a rural area this is important to me. I also know to stay up late for off peak but I'm not always up to it.

Just give them a call so they can check it for you but free Netflix download quota applies only to Australian Netflix content via fixed line or wireless services only. So if your on satelitte or using VPN or using an geo-hacking tools to access Netflix US content directly then this data will count in your download quota.

I don't work for Skymesh. I use them. Yes you can easily use that sort of data if you do not go into your settings in Netflix and change the resolution down. You must have watched them in HD which is the default setting.

Hi,
I have recently discovered the unreliability of the FTTN NBN. I have 5 days with no internet. Shoddy NBN techs. So I am curious if you offer a 4G backup like Telstra?
Thanks,

Do you service Two Rocks WA?

Hi Sonia,

They likely do if the NBN is available there but personally I would avoid them.

Over the last few months their service has drastically dropped as they are now being run through a separate company who is using older, outdated technology.

We've just changed to Aussie Broadband and judging by the newer reviews we're not the only ones doing so.

The new owners have run this company into the ground (like TPG did with iiNet) and the original director left despite a 2 year contract so it would be best to avoid them completely.

Very easy to change, just log Into skymesh (My skymesh) with your email and your password they gave you. Click on the "Services tab at the top and the details of your plan will come up. There are two options on the right hand side, buy data block and "change your plan". Click on that and choose your new plan!

This will be my 4th attempt to contact anyone (no luck yet). On the 9th August we could not get on the net this was resolved on the 10th but it is showing that we used 3000mbs. How is this possible when we couldn't use the net? Also it is shown that we used 50% in 7 days as we have not changed our usage habits I think this is a bit bizarre. your contact page is stuck on processing with my 3rd attempt though the two previous attempts did go through.

thank you for replying Adele - they finally answered me on thursday morning 17/8, sent by Brendan skymesh request no. 4042300. our last invoice no. 3083075 Davis (I don't know where to find the account number) we are in Spicers Creek, NSW, 2820. just to let you know they seem to think the number of mbs used could be accounted for but to go through the list on the request answer we don't use webcam or skype ever, no peer to peer file sharing, we are on satellite so the signal is secure and doesn't reach either our gate/road or our neighbours and on that day we only had 4 windows updates. as I said we could not reach the web all day so I don't know how 3000 mbs was used and the rate of mbs used up to that day (from the 2nd) seems excessive. I would rather work this out over the computer as the landline is not in the same room (no mobile reception) and makes it hard to work out things running between the two.

Was Ok until Owner sold out to the UK company. Now its profit before anything else. Immediately on handover congestion started
on Sky Muster. From a regular 23.7 down its now in the low 13Mbps from 6pm to 11pm. So no more Netflix and back to the old days
of ABG. I advise to try another provider, stay away from SkyMess.

You will be fine signing up, and for a week or two after that.
Your speeds will drop, you will finally, after weeks trying, get through to support,Then you will get an email saying How your speeds at peak times cant be guaranteed.
And that No-one can promise that, and if your on a 100/50 service getting 7/4 they will say there's nothing they can do about it.
But hey! some say its brilliant, think they work there.

Telstra does not own the nbn. Furthermore Telstra charges much higher nbn packages than skymesh. Compare skymesh and Telstra packages and you will know who is more competitive

Hi SKyMesh,

It says on your web site you can cancel you contract anything within 30 days. What happens after 30 days when you cancel your contract ?

1 answer
Lachlan B
Lachlan B

Re: Cancellations - You are required to give SkyMesh 30 days notice to cancel your account. However, they often accept a cancellation with slightly less warning than that. After 30 days, you can still cancel the contract all the same, as SkyMesh plans are month to month. That statement isn't a 30 day money back guarantee of any sorts, it just means that you aren't locked into a long 12 or 24 month contract. You're free to leave whenever you wish to, provided you give notice.

Thanks,
Lachlan

SkyMesh services all areas with NBN connectivity across Australia. If NBN is available at your address when you enter it in on NBNCo's website, http://www.nbnco.com.au/, you can order a service with SkyMesh.

You don't need to ask special requests directed at Paul for SkyMesh to match other provider offers. SkyMesh will plan match most other ISP plans, unless they're unlimited. To ask for this, you simply need to email their Sales team at [email protected] or [email protected] and include the details of the plan, they will try their best to match it for you.

"ifreezehere"
"ifreezehere"

Just an update, Paul sold the Company to a British company, since then its gone downhill.
Cuts on CVC have caused all sorts of problems people on 100/50 plans have been getting
single digit speeds just when you want good speeds, from 7.30pm to 10pm.
But if you browse and email, then Skymesh is for you.

Has anyone got VoIP call forwarding working on SkyMesh NBN fixed wireless? My VoIP phone service (and internet service) work fine but I've has no luck setting up call forwarding, voicemail or any other service using any of the dial codes listed on the Skymesh website at https://www.skymesh.net.au/docs/Using%20SkyMesh%20Voice%20for%20nbn%20Services.pdf. For example *72 redirect phone no # has no effect and just results in a busy tone after it the code is dialled. I have a Skymesh supplied Netcomm NF17ACV router. Why can i only get 40gig download in peak time on satellite? this is used in the first week of the month. I can't buy more they tell me and i am only about 4 klms from an NBN tower.
So why can I not get fixed wireless .i give them my address and thats it no more conversation. I ask if they can test my signal .no can't do that so i am stuck with 40 gig download .as i don't stay up all night to use the off peak data.
My question is can i test my reception by some other means myself. With a phone or will someone do it for me. At my age of 70, i would love to spend more time on the net but can't.
Please help some way.thanks Hayden.
Yes i do get mobile coverage..

1 answer
SkyMesh
SkyMeshSkyMesh

Hi Hayden, you have a Sky Muster satellite service and the decision on Data Allowances was nbn co's not SkyMesh's or other RSPs. nbn co has set a Fair Use Policy to ensure that the satellite doesn't become congested like the Interim Satellite Service. That affects the maximum Data Allowances that RSPs can sell, and it also makes the price of the service more expensive than Fixed Wireless and Fixed Line services. When you say "I give them my address", are you talking about nbn co or SkyMesh? nbn co also determines the footprint of their Fixed Wireless towers, and whether or not the signal quality is acceptable where you live. It may be that the radios on that nearby tower don't point in your direction and that's why there is no more conversation. You can check the coverage of nbn co's Fixed Wireless service by keying your address into nbn co's Rollout Map here - http://www.nbnco.com.au/learn-about-the-nbn/rollout-map.html If that says you have signal at your home, by all means ask SkyMesh to go to bat for you with nbn co and ask them to reclassify your address from Sky Muster to Fixed Wireless. If the map shows that there's no signal, nbn co won't send a technician to test what they already know. Even if you could test your reception yourself, or get someone to do it for you, nbn co has already mapped your premises and they know you can't get a signal, so they won't take someone else's word. If you get mobile coverage, have you considered cancelling your Sky Muster service and ordering a mobile wireless service with Telstra? The data allowances aren't very good, and the price isn't cheap, and they lock you into a 24 month contract, but it's worth comparing with Sky Muster. I'm sorry that's not better news. Thanks, Paul

SkyMesh

Can anyone please rate SkyMesh in regard to Skymuster satellite NBN? I am with Clear Networks and it is hopeless. Thanks in advance.

1 answer
SkyMesh
SkyMeshSkyMesh

Hi theewe, a really good idea would be to check each provider's Product Review Star Rating. Here's theirs - /p/clear-networks.html and here's ours - /p/skymesh.html Sky Muster has had its problems with outages, but that's common across all RSPs. nbn co has a program to fix all the bugs and make it more reliable, so that's encouraging. If your problem is slow speeds at peak times, we know that we have the best Sky Muster performance around. We don't sell high capacity Plans at low prices, so we don't attract customers wanting huge data allowances. Our Sky Muster customers are 'middle of the road', so we have very little congestion at peak times. Best of all, you can transfer to SkyMesh and if you're not happy you can transfer away, we don't lock customers into long term contracts. I hope that's been of some help. Thanks, Paul
