Hi
Do Tangerine provide internet in NSW?
Nathan H.asked
Hi
Will the TP-Link TD-W9960 ADLS2/VDSL Modem/Router/Wirless-N can be run with tangerine XXL speed boost plan?
Thank you.
1 answer
No idea if it will. If it's suitable for NBN speeds, should be OK. Finding that you may only get 60% of the speed too, as NBN lines in some areas are crap.

Is any one in the albury area using Tangerine

Is it cheaper if there is no phone

Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi David.
Our standard nbn plans do not include a home phone.
The NBN bundles page shows the plans which include internet and home phone.
The home phone component costs $10 per month and includes unlimited local, national and calls to Aus mobiles.
Any other questions, please let me know.
Margaret Wasked
The speeds Tangerine says you can get are much higher (eg 83 mbps) than those listed by other providers. How can they get higher speeds using the same fibre/cable as other providers?
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Margaret. Other providers also advertise similar speeds. The speed quoted is on the top tier 100/40 nbn product. Speeds will vary from provider to provider and also from user to user. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Why is it taking tangerine so long to port my landline phone i am without a home phone. Any help?
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Vuinnie. Number porting requires the co-operation of the losing provider as well as the gaining carrier. Sometimes some losing carriers can take longer than we'd all hope to approve a port out. We'll reach out via PM for your account number so we can provide you an update on your request. Thanks.

I expect to be connected to NBNs Fixed Wireless service in the Q1 2022. Presently I use an ASUS DSL-AC68U. It is described as compatible with xDSL, fiber and cable. Would it also be compatible with a fixed wireless connection?
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Graeme, it seems that your device supports a WAN connection so this will be compatible with NBN Fixed Wireless. Look forward to helping you with a connection in Q1 2022. Thanks.
Elisabethasked
Do you also operate in Tasmania? And if I switched mobile phones, would I be able to keep my old number? And if I switched NBN from Telstra, would I be able to use my old modem?
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Elisabeth, sorry for the delayed reply. We certainly do service Tasmania. We also support mobile phone number transfers so you can keep your existing mobile number. With your modem - you should check whether it is locked to Telstra. Easiest way to do this is to try and login to it and change the ISP username and password. Note: that you should make a note of these and know the password as you'll need to change this back to continue your current service. Thanks!

Domasked
Hi, I was wondering if my ASUS DSL-68U would work with your service (HFC at my home), looking of swapping but I've heard somewhere that tangerine and asus don't get along so well (something about blocked ports?)
thanks!
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Dom. Are you referring to the ASUS ACDSL68-U? If so this supports Ethernet WAN so will work with HFC NBN with Tangerine. Some ASUS router models did have issues connecting to NBN generally. This seems to have been resolved with firmware updates released by ASUS, so we’d recommend ensuring you are using the latest firmware to avoid any issues. Thanks and let us know any further questions.
JCaasked
Hi, I have an IINET supplied wireless Technicolor Modem model TG789vac V2 and live in Maylands Perth.
Can I connect to your service? thanks JC
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi JCa. Without actually trying your iiNet supplied modem we can’t be sure. Some modems are locked by carriers. We can try our best to assist and if that fails we can arrange for one of our recommended Netcomm modems to be despatched with next day delivery. Feel free to give our technical team a call on 1800211112 and they can perhaps try accessing the config of your modem to establish if it is locked. Look forward to helping you with an NBN service very soon.

Hi,
I have recently discovered the unreliability of the FTTN NBN. I have 5 days with no internet. Shoddy NBN techs. So I am curious if you offer a 4G backup like Telstra?
Thanks,
hydraflexx
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Hydraflexx. We will soon be launching a 4G backup option. In the mean time feel free to give our Melbourne team a call and ask about a 4G option. There are some costs involved in this. Hope this helps and we hope to launch our 4G backup option very soon.

According to Modem Settings FAQ (http://www.tangerinetelecom.com.au/help/what-settings-are-required-for-my-nbn-modem) "VLAN ordered 1st June 2017 onwards Disabled / not active ", does this mean that VLAN tagging is no longer a requirement for modems from June 1st 2017? Also found "Tangerine supports a BYO NBN modem/router option when connecting for NBN. We do not require the VLAN tagging feature on your BYO device as do a lot of other NBN providers. " at http://www.tangerinetelecom.com.au/help/requirements-to-use-your-own-byo-device-for-nbn
i.e. You chance to make it clear on here that VLAN tagging is no longer a modem requirement.
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Mike, thanks for reaching out. For all services ordered with Tangerine Telecom after 1st June do not require VLAN tagging to be enabled. This is a new feature on the network and only applicable to newly ordered services after this date. If you order a service with us today you will NOT require VLAN tagging to be enabled on your BYO device. I hope that this helps. Thanks.
Hugnkiss15asked
Can you please tell me if you offer coverage for Mount Gambier, South Australia. If so what is the maximum speed tier that can be achieved in this area?
What does voice or no voice mean regarding modems? Is that for the phone component of the plan?
Thanks
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Hugnkiss15, we certainly do have NBN coverage in and around Mt Gambia and have a lot of happy customers there. The voice and no voice does relate to whether you want to run a voice service over your NBN connection. If you want voice, be sure to select the upgraded modem with voice capabilities (ie. the NF17ACV). To give you a more precise maximum speed that is available we would need to know your precise address. Feel free to give our sales team a call on 1800 211 112.

I've got an ADSL MODEM ROUTER that supports nbn. Its a Netgear D6300 model, would this modem router be suitable for a HFC connection that my area supports?
2 answers
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Thanks for getting in touch. From the reading I have just done it doesn't appear that the Netgear D6300 supports VLan tagging. Unfortunately this is a requirement for NBN from our carrier. Therefore, I would recommend purchasing a new modem from us at the time of signing up. We offer these for $99 (including delivery) and they come our pre-configured with your user settings. The $99 version would be the Netcomm NF10W (if voice is not required) or NF10WV (if you choose to have voice). There is also an option to upgrade to the Netcomm NF17ACV at $179. Hopefully we can welcome you as a customer of Tangerine Telecom really soon. If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch. Thanks.
Thank you, I am surprised I got a rapid from you. Very pleasing to see there are actually companies around that promote good customer service.
I will give your nbn plans a real consider. Thanks again.

Will the 'Netgear DM200 Broadband High-Speed VDSL/ADSL Modem' be a modem that i can use for the nbn network?
1 answer
Support R.Tangerine Telecom
Hi Phil, yes the DM200 can be used on the NBN network. Please note though that it is only suitable for FTTN/B connections. Not suitable for FTTP, HFC or Fixed Wireless. If you're unsure how NBN is being delivered to your property please feel free to give us a call on 1800 211112 or start a live chat via our website.
