Whats the difference between fixed wireless and broadband?.

Support R.Tangerine Telecom

Fixed wireless is a method that NBN use to deliver NBN to your house. If you live in a fixed wireless area (often a regional area) then that's how they will deliver internet to you. The technician comes out and installs a small receiver on the roof of your house. Then the internet is delivered to that from a thing like a mobile tower.

Broadband is basically access to the internet.

Hope this helps answer your question. Please get in touch so we can see if we can assist you with your fixed wireless connection.

Hi there, Thanks for getting in touch. We do service Caloundra, QLD although at present it would via ADSL because NBN isn't available in Caloundra yet. We have plenty of happy customers up on the Sunshine Coast but I am unsure if any of these reviews are from customers on the Sunshine Coast. Most of them don't specify where the customer is located i'm afraid. Feel free to get in touch with our Melbourne based team and we can look at your specific address etc. Thanks.

I couldn't find information about ADSL2 download speed. Is it 12/1Mbps or 25/5Mbps?

Hi Klazol,
ADSL2+ speeds support up to 20Mbps download and up to 1Mbps upload speeds. With ADSL technology the actual speed you may receive is very dependent on the distance you are from your local telephone exchange.

If you give our team a call and let us know your address we can let you know your distance and an estimated speed that you would be likely to achieve.

I hope that this helps.

Thanks.

Hi Klazol,I did not find any information either.
I did not even find their website. :-)

After 21 years on the internet, I am just gambling on the promise of the lady that I talked to, Jennalyn Canlas.
She is an amazing lady, who answered all my questions on the phone with perfection, so, I just gambled, by agreeing to sign a contract for 6 months.

I am a 73 years 'old goat' with 21 year experience on the internet, with over a dozen internet providers, my 'cup of sorrow is full to the bream', with false promises by the many ISPs. IT IS A WILD FIELD. I do not think that she fooled me, anyway she promised  that I will be connected to MORETELECOM in "2 to 3 weeks, or sooner", I will find out very soon if she could keep her promise. This forum will be informed about my future 'adventures.'

The only evidence that I have is, that my next door neighbor is getting from them download speeds above 13MB. So, I am assuming that MORETELECOM should be capable of delivering similar speed to me too.It is in the interest of MORE TELECOM to deliver similar speed, or, they will loose me as a customer.

KEEP IN MIND that Telstra is the company who is doing the transfer connections between ISPs. So MORETELECOM can only present a request to Telstra to transfer my account to MORE TELECOM. Unfortunately, based on my experience in the past, Telstra seems to be giving preferential treatment to their own customers and the rest of us have to wait, they almost never keep their promise to connect my line on time, often they promise a date to call me and I never hear form them, and/or, in the last minute they give me another date. Each delay lasts about a week.

So far, my best experience with MORETELECOM is my ability to talk with Jennalyn Canlas, she actually speaks good English. In the past, I spent many hours and days attempting to communicate with other ISP personal who are located in other countries who barely spoke English, and their accent was not clear. So, I often just hanged up the phone without getting any results.

WELL, it is only one day since I signed the contract with MORETELECOM, I am looking forward with enthusiasm for a long and happy friendship. If MORETELECOM will be able to perform as Jennalyn Canlas promised me, it would be an exciting fresh page in the history of the ISPs in Australia.

I AM 3.6KM FROM THE EXCHANGE.

Hi there,
Thanks to both of you for posting.
Just in case the posts are causing any confusion I thought it would be useful to clarify the link between Tangerine Telecom and More Telecom because there are a lot of mentions of More Telecom on this thread which is actually a Tangerine Telecom thread. More Telecom and Tangerine Telecom are separate companies but owned by the same people. More Telecom is the business brand and Tangerine Telecom is the consumer arm.. Both have customer support based in the same office in Melbourne and technical support in the Philippines. The support levels for both are built to be exceedingly high. For example the average call answering time during business hours is under 15 seconds and that's into Melbourne.
Hopefully this helps clarify.
Either way, whether you are with More Telecom or Tangerine Telecom we're very confident you'll be happy with the services offered.
Thanks.

When I called at 7:30 last night, the call went to voice mail. I did leave a message, however, and the technician called back a few minutes before 8:00 and stayed on the line past 8:00 to try to resolve the problem.
