Uncle Tobys Vita Brits (page 2 of 6)

They've turned Vita Brits into Weetbix
The recent change to Vita Brits has made them smaller, airy and near tasteless, much more like Weet Bix. The bag is also no longer sealed allowing them to go stale quicker. The reason I chose to eat Vita Brits for the last 50 years is no longer there. Unless they change back to the original recipe, I've bought my last pack of Vita Brits.
Purchased in April 2021 at Coles for $5.
After 45 years I need to find a new breakfast
My whole family have laughed at me for years as I chose to eat Vita Brits every morning & even worried what I would eat when traveling over seas. Sadly, no longer!!! Even the smaller biscuit & packaging wouldn’t deter me BUT the taste of last last few packets has destroyed my breakfast, they taste like weetbix, YUCK! Please bring back our Aussie brekky, surely someone at Uncle Tobys must care what we think???
Seven in the bowl now needs to be eight.
Before opening the box pretty clear they were not going to be the same. Australian grown tick Australia made? Jury is out on taste but made here? Please own up.

What did you do!
I have been eating VitaBrits for more than 55 years and you have ruined them
For over half a century the flavour has never changed and now they are terrible!
You have ruined breakfast for me

No longer the Vita Brits we knew
Vita Brits were my breakfast staple for decades. I noticed the change straight away in the taste and consistency of the biscuits. I don't like them at all. What is being sold in a Vita Brits box is no longer Vita Brits. Checking out the country of origin tag, its seem quite clear that they are now manufactured overseas. So, when I was last down at Woolies, I picked up a packet of Vita Brits, re-read the box and placed it back on the shelf and purchased Australian made Weet Bix instead.

They're just fine, people !!!
Reading all these negative reviews, I wondered how many have been planted by competitors ...
I actually think the new product is an improvement on the old. The new recipe (probably just a new manufacturing process) has them finishing up more like weetbix in structure, ie. more airy and uniform in structure, so they absorb milk quicker and more evenly. (Personally, I don't like weetbix so much, as the malt flavouring is so extreme ...)
I used to laugh at the old vitabrits and how poor they were at absorbing liquid -- some bricks were much thinn...

bloody bean counters
Dear uncle toby,
please undo your recent changes to the Vita Brits. after many years of loyal breakfast eating, i must now seek an alternate cereal. I bet your sales people will see a kit to sales. then you will eventually need to shut the whole thing down due to it being a poorly performing product. turn around now and get back to what worked!!!

It's scrummy but it's changed size, volume and the package isUNSEALED.
The food is good. But it's unsealed and I'm concerned about possible contamination. Also concerning is the volume and size of the product. Texture is I think the same, but I expect that to happen considering your greed for profit

Something has changed
Packaging has changed. It used to be Amcor I think and I noticed Opal written in the inside now. They don’t seal the bag. It is just folded over. Surely that must have an impact on the product. The flavour is terrible but I am wondering if the recipe has not changed and it is maybe just the fact they are not sealed. Then again once opened in the cupboard they usually never change how they look and taste so I guess they must have changed something because these suck!

No longer my favourite breakfast cereal
Vita Brit's recipe has changed, and they are no longer a delicious breakfast cereal that they once were. Dry, bland and simply no good. Please revisit your recipe nestle for the betterment of your cereal!
Terrible
I have been having Vita Brits for breakfast for the last 50 years. We have 2 box,s in the pantry both in code. I will not eat them, Whatever the company has done to the formulas has resulted in a smaller, looser, and tastes like dust
Unless they change back it will look for something else to have for breakfast.
I will not buy them again.
Disappointed

Manufactured overseas = less Australian jobs. Product shrunk. Dehydrated so that more packs fit into shipping container. Recipe no longer enjoyed by long term customers. No longer a staple in pantry.

Cost cutting?
It's seems that the latest batches of Vita Brits have undergone some changes for the worst. They have stopped sealing the plastic bag that they come in causing the wheat to become hard as a rock and also tasteless. The size of the wheat biscuits have also shrunk. I can only imagine they have done this to save money.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? New Vita Brits = 2nd-rate replacement.
Whatever Uncle Tobys have done to their new Vita-Brits is a tasteless failure, and a second-rate replacement for a previously delicious product. Grossly disappointing. Unacceptable. Bring back the original, please.

What's happened to Vita Brits
I have been having Vita Brits for breakfast for over 25 years, enjoying the taste and texture. The last box I opened was extremely disappointing. Checking up I found the recipe has been changed to the detriment of people like myself who have been eating them for years. They taste nothing like they used to and are more in comparison to a brick Unfortunately my wife buys them by the carton and as I can't enjoy them any more it looks like the dog will have to suffer them.

New Vita Brits are disgusting
Uncle Toby’s Vita Brits seem to have had a recipe change, and a reduction in the size, texture and taste of their cereal. Another example of a business putting profits ahead of customer loyalty. Maybe it’s time to switch to the competitor in the market place.

Shrunk and taste bad
Vitabrits have been my staple for years but they’ve shrunk and don’t taste the same. Seems like recipe change as well. Won’t be buying again or any other Uncle Tobys cereal.

What the....!
Bought a box about a month ago and was surprised at what I found. Had to double check I bought the right brand. Went to a smaller store a few weeks later after feeding the remaining biscuits to my dogs, and they obviously had 'old stock' on the shelf. Back to good ol Vita Brits I thought. Then I bought another box a week ago, and back to the horrid looking and tasting biscuits! Didn't realise there was a recipe change - thought it might have been a temporary seasonal thing. Oh dear. Wont be going down this path any more. A shame after 30 years of consistent quality.

Disappointed
I purchased them and thought they were off. Why change something great? I hope Uncle Toby's revert back to the recipe we love. I buy other cereal but miss them.

Disappointed with new style vita Brits.
Very disappointed with the new style Vita Brits. They are very hard and taste stale. They've lost their flakeness. I've been eating them for breakfast all my life but don't think I'll be buying them again.

Goodbye Uncle Toby's, I liked the old recipe.
Open a new box of cereal this morning and found the packaging and product has changed it tasted stale, like the cheap knockoffs or left in the pantry too long.

Changed for the worse
Noticed in the past month Vita brits has changed. Initially thought that I bought a bad batch. But I was wrong. They have changed the recipe for the worse. Until they change back to how it was that have lost a customer.
Vita Brits appalling change to recipe, taste and local manufacture
Uncle Tobys, you should be ashamed of the appalling changes you’ve made to Vita Brits breakfast cereal, and the complete lack of information on the pack about where they are made is disgraceful.
After 50 years of consuming and purchasing Vita Brits, I will now spend my money on your main competitors Australian made product.

Horrible change to cut jobs and save Nestle money!
I can only echo what else is being said on this site. The new formula (described on Uncle Toby's website as "a minor change") means the biscuits are smaller, less flaky and have lost their distinctive taste. Simply put, they now taste more bland and mass-produced. Think of the difference between the old buttery, crunchy Scotch finger biscuits and the cardboard they replaced them with. And why did this happen? So Nestle could save money - they have shed 36 jobs and stopped making granola cereals, so now we don't even know who or where the...
Read morese biscuits are made: https://www.farmonline.com.au/story/6930680/nestle-pulls-plug-on-breakfast-cereal-after-31-years/ What a shame. Another iconic food goes the way of profit margins and foreign owners not caring about Aussie consumers. Very sad and a terrible change.Purchased in March 2021.

A case study in how outsourcing can make things much worse.
We bought a box of Vita-Brits in our normal fortnightly shop, opened them up and figured by the texture and taste they'd been badly water damaged. Added some to the dogs' dinner mix and threw the rest out. Bought a second box and had the same issue; the tasted like they'd gotten moisture in them and then dried out again. Figured it must be a batch issue at the store and so bought from a different supermarket chain at a different location; same issue still. Dug deeper this time and learned that the manufacturing unit that had operated so well fo...
Read morer 30 years had been shut down. This isn't the first time they've messed with Vita-Brits either. If I recall correctly, Nabisco made them initially and were bought out by Uncle -Toby's, shortly afterwards, they changed the recipe and removed the malt from them. We adjusted as the change in taste and texture wasn't significant enough to move to something else, and they were likely healthier than the original too. The change from that second recipe to the third has made the box they come in more palatable than the product. They say you can't improve things without change; well you can't mess things up so badly without change either. This product will remain off the shopping list indefinitely until the recipe used for at least 30 years is used again. This is not a complicated product. It has been a healthy, staple breakfast choice for literally generations so why mess with something that worked so well? It seems in chasing profits, Uncle Toby's has killed an entire revenue stream.Purchased in February 2021 at Coles Supermarkets for $4.
