Braemar Ecostar Ducted Gas TH Series

Spent $12k 10 years ago for a Braemar gas ducted air con. After 7 years the AC compressor, soft starter and capacitors all died. $4k to fix but took 1 month to track down parts.
1 month ago the AC stopped working again.
Got a technician out who said the soft starter is no good. He searched for 3 weeks, then I called Seeley. They don't make this very vital part any more.
So I basically have a full ducted system that is useless because of one minor part.
That's what you get for trying to buy Australian made. I would never buy Braemar again.

My ducted heating( Ecostar TH5X32N) had been working normal since its instalment in 2014. However when passed its 7 year warranty, it became problematic; so i called the installer and had some sensors and SCC replaced ( SCC is expensive). It behaved good just for a couple of weeks. I have had this heater for a while now- not sure exactly how long- but over the last few years have had nothing but problems with it! So far, new control board, new thermistor and ignitor- twice!, and now yet another error! Will never buy Braemar again.

Bought a used TH330 from gumtree in 2015, still had 1 year warranty left. Paid $300 for the unit and $600 have it professionally plumbed and some duct work modified as this unit had larger duct size. This unit was to replace the old 15kw Braemar my home came with that kept throwing error codes and shutting off after a hour's use. It's now 10 years old and I only just had to replace the PCB board as it failed, heater has had about 5 year's usage in total since new. Found a brand new replacement PCB on Ebay for $225 and changed the board over. Wo...

Bought this heater to hopefully save a bit of my gas bill, and first year it worked very well, since then it has been basically useless, the flame doesnt stay lit, its been cleaned, new board in it and still no good. We have a vulkan wall furnace that has done the last 6 years odd. Tried to get it fixed and you get a tin ear from either coldflow or braemar, and dont think about ringing their service manager waste of you time. This is the type of thing that should be sent off to consumer affairs and I now wish I had.

i have spent hours mucking around with them over two years
and I am a mechanical engineer

Purchased / Installed April 2014. First 3yrs of warranty period (5yrs) it wasn't too bad, some minor issues. Since then, every winter when you need the alleged 'heater' something goes wrong, motherboard, pressure switch, fault codes, SCC replaced.. Now it's June 2020 & guess what... It's fault code 08 on the screen, Technician should be here in 6 days..? Think I'll go & have an ice bath, at least house will feel warm after that..

When it works, it works well. However 7 years to the day it's dead; after spending over $4,000 buying this unit and another $1,000 in repairs. Standard 3 bed weatherboard home; have been told the unit is too big for our 6 outlet house; I could only go on what ColdFlow recommended. We now have constant error codes of 11 and 19 - which sure I've been told how to reset, but what's the point when you have to do this every 10 minutes!!! Start with the good. When it works it works well. When a technician is needed, Sealey International in Adelaide are excellent at providing a responsive service and their techs are always very competent. Now the bad:

1. The addon cooling unit kept switching off every time the outside temp hit 39-40C this past summer even though we cleaned around the unit. It kept tripping the fuse in the fuse box. Heater system failed in less than 6 week of installation. Have been waiting for over two week now for them to come and fix it. I have literally spent thousands of dollars for system that does not work and to be freezing in my home. If you want system that works STAY AWAY from Braemar.

we installed this back in 2014 and it has been very noisy which sounded like helicopter landing on our ceiling. It still exists even speed reduced to a lower degree! called the braemar but was told that how they knew noise existed from 1st day?! serious? if we know this will be a noisy product, we wont even buy it. what waste of more than 3K! I did google online and apparently some people got similar experience as well! NOT HAPPY!
