If you have a pet, that malts hair, you NEED this vacum!
We have a long haired White Shepherd, who we love dearly, but malts hair like no other! The Dyson has been a game changer; it actually picks up the hair off the carpet and trust me we have tried multiple! Its easier to use and makes vacuuming daily a treat not a chore.

Could be better. But heavy for ladies, doesn't suck properly.
Parket and carpet
It's too much strong to vacuum on the traditional silk rugs, too risky, don't do it
Not to bad but it could be better
Don't let hair stay in for a long time, otherwise it's gonna blow up the vacuum

This vacuum is a must have if you have pets!
I purchased this as for my bedroom carpets as my French bulldog loses so much hair and cannot believe how well it sucks up hair that sometimes you cant even see with your eyes. After vacuuming my carpets look like new. It is also excellent on my floor boards, can't believe it didn't buy this earlier.

Dont waste your money.
So disappointed in this vacuum. Went on whim one morning and purchased after seeing the ad on TV, so tired of pulling the Dyson barrell around and getting caught in furniture etc. Have never been a fan of cordless vacs so the promises this one made seemed like a dream come true. In truth, it sucks, and not in a good way. The only speed worth operating it on is max, otherwise it does nothing and on max, it runs out of juice in 10 minutes. It does not even pretend to remove dog and cat hair from the rugs, I still have to moonwalk on then in my s...Read more
ketchers to rake up the big sausages of fur. It sulks every 20 minutes unless you clean out the filter. I am honestly outraged at the price I paid for what is no better than a cheap cordless stick vacuum - in otherwords less effective than a broom. I think with 2 cats, a dog and a hair shedding daughter, I am resigned to buying a new cheap vac every 2 years or so. I will not waste my cash on dyson again, since I dont love my barrel vac either.Purchased in September 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $1,100.00.

So handy and so powerful
I’ve owned a Dyson vacuum before which was great but the V10 is absolutely fantastic. Suction is so strong and it glides so easily over carpet, wood floors and tiles.

V10 Battery Fail after 2 weeks
Our V10's battery failed 2 weeks after purchase. During a call to Dyson's customer service group I was advised that under consumer law batteries are regarded as consumables and as such not covered by warranty however Dyson are prepared to offer a replacement at no cost........after 2 weeks are you kidding?

Dyson Vacuum V10
Just purchased this item from JB HIFI. Very satisfied with this vacuum. I have been depressed over other vacuums before not providing enough suction to eliminate unwanted dirt on the carpet. This product exceeds my expectations.

Over engineered
Vacuum works great, however cleaning the filter is too burdensome. After a month of use the filter light came on so I removed the filter and cleaned with water and let it dry for 24 hours per the manual instructions. After installing the filter the unit ran for ~ 1 second and shut off. I called customer service and they instructed me to wait for another 24 hours for drying. After 48 hours the unit still would not run. Called customer service again and was instructed to let dry for another 24 hours. After 72 hours of drying the unit operates normally. Recommend Dyson provide a spare filter with new units. I believe it is unrealistic to expect the customer to wait 3 days before they can use the vacuum after cleaning the filter.

Great suction but short battery life
The suction on this is great. Swept up so much cat hair. I had no idea so much was ingrained in my market. I have to mark it down as when it is on full power the battery only lasts about 10 minutes. I will use the low or medium suction next time otherwise I won't get much down before the battery goes.

Its a Dyson
Have had a dyson DC44 and have moved to a larger home and the battery did not last long enough so it was time to upgrade. Looked at the LG stick but decided to go with the original and best the Dyson. As we have cats we got the animal. Has some great attachments the came included. Now if I could just get someone to use it for me (HaHa)

Great suction power
I have found the auction power on the V10 is amazing. The battery lasts a good length of time, and the filter is easy to remove to clean. I like the new design change for emptying the bin, finding it pushed everything down so you don’t have to manually scoop pet hair out like previous models. I find the opening mechanism a little hard to use though. Other than that, I highly recommend this model.

Great while battery lasts
When Dyson advertised that they were replacing their normal vacs with a rechargeable line, I was excited to buy a lightweight convenient form of vacuuming. I already had a Dyson with motorised head, which I was very happy with, apart from the heaviness of it.
They claimed their new rechargeable line was so good they no longer needed to make normal vacs. This may be, but beware, read the fine print on how long the battery lasts on basic floor vacuuming. Mine V10 lasts 8.5 minutes using highest setting, which is needed to clean carpet properly - ...Read more

Useless on hardwood floors
Absolutely useless on hardwood floors. Just pushes tiny objects you're trying to vacuum around. Contacted Dyson, no option for a hardwood head, we'll need to buy the absolute for that. Another $999... No thanks. Gave 2 stars as it is useful on carpet.

Impressed, yet Disappointed
We have 4 dogs in home...A great dane, boxer, boston terrier and chinese crested/chihuahua mix. I own a dyson corded, but thought it might be nice to have a cord-free, so my go-to was dyson. From reading the ad (not reviews) it sounded like it would be good for our needs.
I was very impressed with the suction power and cleaning capability. This was my first time using the machine. I vacuumed bare floors on medium (next time I'll try low) and carpeted on either medium or high, depending on carpet length and traffic areas in the house.

disappointments with the product: 1. The very first thing I noticed as I started vacuuming was that you have to continuously hold down the "Trigger" to keep the vacuum running. There is no simple on/off switch. I have problems with my hands and when I have to continually maintain pressure like that, it makes my hand start to go numb. 2. I was disappointed in the small holding cup size. I've already have to empty twice and still not done all of the floors. With 4 shedding dogs in the house, it doesn't take long to fill, especially when it's designed especially for pet owners.Purchased in April 2021 at Canadian Tire for $699.00.

Love My Dyson V10 Animal Vac
I have four Australian Shepherds which are indoor/outdoor dogs. They constantly shed hair. I recently bought a Dyson V10 Animal cordless vacuum with attachments. I had googled reviews which were great only bad thing was length of vacuum time. Well, was I surprised - I vacuum at least every two days because of the dogs and dust (I am on a farm). I have a five bedroom home with lounge/kitchen/dining/bathroom which I generally do all rooms - and still only charge on average once a week - as I use lowest setting. It is super easy to use and fast (no cords to plug in every time). Easy to empty (usually I need to empty twice each vacuum). I absolutely love it!

Never had a vacuum that sucks up so much dirt/dust!
Works very well on carpet, I’m always shocked at how much dust/dirt is sucked up! Very good in an asthmatic household. Also works well on tiled floors. Easy to charge, and battery life is quite long for a handheld vacuum.

Brilliant
I confess I don't own one. However, being a house-sitter I get to use plenty of different vacs (God help me!) However, on a few sits I've used these Dysons. And trust me, I'm very cynical about being over-sold on stuff. But I have to say this V10 thing does an excellent job. And if I ever find a place to live, I'll be buying one of these "animals". However, it'll be secondhand, because they AIN'T worth a thousand bucks!
Though they work well, they are like standing next to some kind of racing car or bike. They make so much bloody noise!!...Read more

Great machine, best Dyson we have had
This machine is light and has great suction, it’s less stress to use than older units, it’s great on tile surfaces as well, we still Can’t believe how much dirt this unit gets out of the carpet.

Great product. Terrible customer service after damaging my rug
I purchased a V10 a few weeks ago. It’s a great vacuum cleaner however, it pulled threads on my rug. Unfortunately the damage is really noticeable. I contacted Dyson immediately and provided them with all the information they requested including the Nick Scali rug manufacturers cleaning instructions, receipts, photos, etc.
Dyson emailed me back today with this response:
We have referred these photos to our technicians who have advised they would be unable to advise how this damage has occurred to your rug while using the Dyson V10 vacuum. W...Read more
e have also looked globally and cannot see any reports of similar issues like this occurring elsewhere. As the particular part you advise has caused this damage should not come in contact with the floor or floor covering during use. Please note we have sent as a goodwill gesture a replacement Soft Roller Cleaner Head, which we believe should be more suitable for your rug. However we would recommend as the Soft Roller Head still does contain a motorised brushbar to get further advice from Nick Scali in regards to the suitability of this head for your rug. As you have gone against the manufacturers advise on what should be used on the rug (as they clearly advise to use a suction only vacuum or head that the brushbar can be raised during vacuuming) by using the Dyson V10 which does have a motorised brushbar that cannot be raised, we would be unable to provide you with any type of compensation for this matter. The dust cup fills to the full line on one side only. Is it normal that it fills unevenly like this? I empty it when the one side is full as i don't want to overfill it. This vacuum is only two months old

When dust enters the bin it is spun out of the airflow. At the bottom of the dust bin there is a plastic baffles to catch the dirt/hair/fluff and keep it down. If it wasn’t going to be caught, this debris would keep spinning and negatively affect the performance of the machine.
The way your dust bin fills depends on a number of factors, primarily the type of dust and dirt, and also the speed in which the particles enter the dust bin. If the majority of your debris is smaller, such as dust particles, sand, grit etc, it is more likely to evenly fill the bin bottom to top (think like a glass held unevenly under the tap).
If more carpet fibres, hairs threads etc are sucked through the machine, the fibres can catch onto each other as they spin through the dust bin. The baffle at the bottom will catch them, and they will tend to bundle together and build up and out from the one spot.

Hi I have a problem with the V10 assembly bin handle really stiff to release to point where I feel it’s gonna break, I have cleaned it though, can’t see any damage, but still stiff it get the bin off, any ideas please?

While it may be slightly stiff when new, we certainly wouldn't expect the bin of your V10 machine to be hard to release.
Please give our helpline a call on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy. Our Dyson Experts are available Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4pm AEST.

To confirm, the V10 has three modes of suction; Max, mode two and mode one. With the motorised head attached the machine will provide up to 35 minutes on mode one, 20 minutes on mode two and 5 minutes on Max. Without using a motorised tool it can run up to 60 minutes on mode one, 30 minutes on mode two and 5 minutes on Max.
You can find a video explaining these modes and how to switch between them on https://youtu.be/mWElDYPJMBo.
