I chose to go for the Dyson Absolute rather than the Torque as I have more carpets than hard flooring. The Torque only comes with one main head which is better for hard floors. Whereas the Absolute has 2 main heads, one for carpets and the other for hard floors.

Purchased the Dyson V11 a few months ago. Very convenient to use makes me want to vacuum. After 3 20 minute sessions the power head died. I phoned service. After trouble shooting it was determined I needed a new power head. Was told that part was unavailable it would be 2 or 3 weeks and would be notified when it is available. In a brand new house, the newest Dyson does all the things it is supposed to do.
One of the biggest improvements, apart from the smaller motor with a bigger power and sucking capacity, is the attachment that can clean up hair and not get tangled and bound up by it; true to its word. I purchased this vacuum because I have had an accident which limits the use of my right hand and my Upright Dyson is now too heavy for me to use. The V11 really is a fantastic vacuum - I filled the bin on the first use despite having just vacuumed with my older Dyson. I am very new to the Dyson family with this being my first product of theirs and I had done a lot of research prior to this purchase and the bulk of the negative feedback was the price and also the pushbutton to power it on the button did not bother me and obviously I went ahead and purchased it because here I am leaving a review haha! Purchased the V11 Absolute on special from Ebay (BingLee) and was skeptical at first about the rave and why everyone made such a fuss. At $400 off the RRP I bit the bullet and purchased. Looking back its probably the best appliance purchase that I can think of. Yes I still have my barrel Dyson in the cupboard but I haven't used it since the V11 was delivered.
