Compliments to the Springfield Ripley Team, they have been fantastic support during the building process. Anything that has been required has not been an issue for anyone. If we had a question it was answered competently and quickly. As any house build we had some hiccups along the way. Our supervisor Dan worked very quickly and well with us to support any change or corrections that were required. We built our second house with GJ Gardner North Brisbane. The build quality did not meet basic building standards and we almost ended up in a legal dispute.

Poor works included large gaps in external fixings, non fixed gutters, loose brickwork, and half siliconed expansion joints. They issued variations without approval and invoices for incomplete works. They finished all internal works (plaster/paint/cabinetry/etc) without starting brickwork and reaching lock-up. We had a close call with the GJ Gardner Logan franchise. We had reached contract stage when I looked into their QBCC history and discovered an unusually low number of builds in the last financial year and some compliance issues. Based on this information, I did not have confidence in the franchise’s financial stability etc so we pulled the plug. A fortnight later, the franchise went into administration. It really does pay to check your builder’s history on the QBCC website!
