I read all the negative reviews - after I'd ordered. Thinking this was a large store with a Sydney showroom - so it must be a reputable company - I ordered a bookcase online before reading the reviews. Ergo, I was nervous that my bookcase would arrive damaged/not arrive at all and I'd be caught in the nightmare of trying to get it replaced/refunded. This didn't happen. it would be based on the picture and description. I found the customer care I was given very satisfactory. The process was well-organised, the store and delivery service providing excellent communication and options for delivery, both when I rang the number I was texted to arrange delivery through Kelly, and when I was messaged the day before with additional delivery options - in case anything had changed. Exceptional service and product quality
Visited the Adelaide showroom on several occasions prior to deciding on my purchase and I was pleasantly surprised at the helpfulness of staff at the store. Natasha helped me to choose my sofa and ensured prompt delivery. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the product.

Failed to replace faulty goods
I received a chair with faulty fabric and the warranty claim officer denied the fault and offered for me to swap it with the floor stock, but has not offered any discount off the full price I paid for receiving floor stock. Do not shop at Matt Blatt unless you are willing to accept faulty goods.

Complete and utter incompetence
This has got to be the worst retail experience i've been through. I originally purchased a dining table and chairs through their online store. This is probably the easiest part of the interaction and it seemed easy enough - the website was quick to take your order, and equally quick to take the money from you. ollow up call right after the delivery) that the dining table would not arrive until 3-4 months later. It would have been nice if someone from Matt Blatt had called or emailed me with this estimate before delivering the chairs or even agreeing to continue with the order. No word from them whatsoever. What am I suppose to do with the dining chairs that were now sitting in my lounge taking up space without a dining table; am I expected to have an imaginary dining experience on my non-existent table? Needless to say, I requested a refund of the chairs and cancellation of the entire order, including the dining table. From that point on, not only have i continually called to arrange for this to happen, as well as emails, NOTHING happened until 1 month later from the date of my refund request. It took... 1 month... for someone at Matt Blatt to arrange for a delivery person to pick up these dining chairs; how it is possible they send delivery out within 4 days but take over a month to organise for something to pick up returned furniture. Throughout this period, i continue to call for an update to no avail. Their call staff are also hopeless and can't give me a reason for the delay, they can't connect to their warehouse to see if the item has arrived, they presumably also can't create accurate records on my order file so the next person knows what to do. They are non-responsive and my emails have gone unanswered till this day. Today i call up again to ask the whereabouts of my refund to which i discovered the items had already arrived, yet it took another call from me to get them to action the refund. Had I not called i probably would not have seen my refund. After all this time, because they don't read/respond to emails, the call staff also didn't know that my dining table should have also been included in the refund and now i have to wait yet another few days for an 'approval' from their accounts department. My warning is to steer clear of this place unless you are 100% comfortable that you won't have to deal their returns processes (note: all 4 of my dining chairs were defective).

Good service and not a bargain no frills store
We love going to Matt Blatt, every single store we have been to look amazing, bold, colourful although often we find it hard to find a piece that fit into our home, which is neutral and minimalistic. Hey, my partner and I are definitely no interior designers. I am sure one can make it work.

roduct hence there are some variations one has to expect. That worked against us one time where the furry cushion we bought appeared very flat. The shop readily took it back and offered to order another one in and let us inspect before taking it. Given it is not a bargain store, we did expect quality and service. Still, we really were delighted by their service. More recently, we purchased a few furnitures from MB Blackburn and the experience was so great that I have just pushed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Sofie, the assistant manager, was so nice to let me know an item I have been eyeing on for quite a while was going on sale which helped me to save a significant amount of money. The store manager Lisa loaned us and even promised to personally deliver us an item so we can test it out in our home. May be I expect too little, I was completely blown away by her generosity and how accomodating they are to the point that I decided to just buy the item. Yep, you guessed it, she delivered it! Excellent service 'above and beyond'
Excellent in-store service from Jono at the Richmond store, followed by really exceptional care and attention to detail in the assembly of our Oxley wardrobe by Jesse and Jono. A confusion about how much assembly would be required by the customer was rectified with prompt, professional, no questions asked service, with Jesse taking great care to ensure the wardrobe was perfectly assembled. Dishonest Seller - Waste of Time - 5 month wait for in stock purchase.
We purchased an in stock dining table online during the November sales. The FAQ said 3 to 10 business days for delivery of in stock items. We even received an invoice that confirmed our delivery date being just days after purchase. Kept following up on the status of my delivery but never received a response. 20 days after purchase I finally received a response saying ETA was now 5 months away.

If I could give minus stars I would
First of all, I was a bit shocked by the delivery fee which was about 100 dollars for a smaller delivery - I would have picked it up in store but that option was not available to me and their warehouse was too far away from me.
After huge delays, I finally received my order 4 weeks later but the issue was, they had not given me any screws for the table. 6 Weeks later and it is still in its box in my living room as they have not been able to sort the issue for me. Very poor communication and service
After 4 weeks, there has been a total lack of care from the Sydney team that deals with online orders, no proactive updates and item is still unknown. The people at store level are super nice and try and give info but they are limited to the amount of info to them.

Perfect table!
The staff were so helpful!! We bought a table before we moved into our townhouse, which was far too big for the space. Matt Blatt Fortitude Valley were so understanding and let us pick a new table which was swapped over with the large one. We are very grateful!

Amazing service
I bought a chair from Matt Blatt Adelaide. Delivery time was tight because of time spent in Customs in Sydney, but Rebecca kept me in informed every step of the way, both by emails and phone calls. Even after the chair's arrival in Adelaide, there were problems caused by the courier company, not by Matt Blatt, but Rebecca did her utmost to see that I received my chair in time for my special event.

Echoing problems with delivery logistics
I cannot believe Matt Blatt's logistics ... in an age when products are delivered fast and often free, this was a shock to the system. I purchased numerous items and was then quoted what I feel is a very high delivery fee. But to add salt to the wound, they stated they could not commit to a specific delivery date. We only had a two day window when we would be in the house when the furniture was required and they could not commit to either day. Terrible Customer Service! Products not adequately described.
Absolutely atrocious service. Chairs I purchased for my office were advertised as armchairs but when they arrived and assembled one, discovered these are like a dining chair not an armchair with a tiny little seating area. Purchased for a reception area as advertised as an armchair. No one in our office can sit in it comfortably. I communicated via email and made numerous phone calls asking for a refund. This has been going on for weeks and even asking to speak with a manager - I was promised a phone call on Friday 7/12/18 which did not happen as promised. I have since spoken with them and they were apologetic about my situation and are working with me to resolve my issue.

Terrible service
Order to items on line both in stock, 4 emails and 3 phone calls later no products, so I threatened consumer affairs, get an email saying your delivery is on it's way!!!!! one item arrived only to be told today after finally getting a response from another 2 emails that is was out of stock when I ordered and it is a 3-4 month wait. Told them this crap it was in stock and when I finally spoke to a so called customer service person they said both items are in stock yet 6 days later 1 item arrives.
Avoid this company at all costs they are rogues who take your money and don't deliver maybe they have a cash flow problem, but what ever the reason their customer service is absolute poor.

I ordered a bed online at Matt Blatt on November 5 2018. This bed was paid for in full. At the time of order, the bed was displayed on their website as 'IN STOCK'. This is displayed prominently beside the drop down menu where you choose the quantity. . I contacted Matt Blatt by phone on several occasions to obtain information on the delivery date. I was advised each of these times that the matter would be followed up and someone from customer service would contact me. Needless to say they never called with more information. I finally received an an email to say that the bed was out of stock. I pointed out that the information on their website was misleading and that I would not have purchased this bed had I known it was not in stock and would arrive more than a month after purchasing it. I received no response to this email. I wrote again a week later to convey that it is completely unacceptable not to have received a response or an explanation about the false statement on their website that the item was 'in stock' which is inconsistent with what I had been told. I pointed out that it is illegal for a business to make statements that are incorrect or likely to create a false impression. Amazing - loved the light we found for our dining room
Everyone that comes to our home comments on the ‘cool’ light fitting that we bought from Matt Blatt. They have a fantastic range at reasonable prices. The one that we bought looks like a state of the art luxury light. The staff at the store were just superb - full of enthusiasm and they had a great knowledge of the products. We loved the store because it was filled with so many fun accessories. We walked out with gifts for our kids and their partners. Matt Blatt is not just a furniture store. Its and experience!

We ordered 2 solid timber bedside tables on 18 March. Matt Blatt said at he time they were made in Australia and delivery would be one week. They took 3 weeks to arrive were made in China of chipboard and had many scratches and chips. They were total rubbish. Matt Blatt responded to a warranty claim by saying I will have to get a refund from their supplier - in Asia!!!
Question: why was Matt Blatt still selling product on line when they were clearly unable to supply, why did they have a SPECIAL ONe DAY SALE last week when they could not deliver goods sold and why have they shut all stores, are not answering phones and are dumping stock onto Grays on line auctions?

Probably you would have know by now that they are scamming customers. I had bad experience too when I ordered X2 armchairs and after a week they said they don’t have them in stock so either I get refund or get another stuff ! Huh ? I read their reviews online and I promised myself not to buy from them ever!
Karan You should lodge a charge back to your credit card and file a complaint with Dept Fair Trading. There is a form on their web site. Matt Blatt is unloading their stock onto online auction sites (Grays online) I expect that none of this will go back to the customers. The tables they sent me were cheap chip board rubbish made in China and unusable. The worst I have ever seen. Good luck.
