Matt Blatt is closing BEWARE
We ordered 2 bedside tables and were told that they were made in Australia and would take 4 days to deliver. They took 3 weeks and were made in China.
The product was absolute rubbish. The worst I have seen.
There were scratches and marks, some parts not painted and one of the handles fell off.
I phoned the company and they said to fill in a Warranty form, which they sent. I did so and was told they would take 3 days to respond. They then said that any refund would come from the supplier - who I found was in China.

They have just listed a lot of stock on Grays Online so they are clearly having financial difficulties and are stalling refunding payments for their poor product. If you have bought and haven't received your product make an immediate charge back claim with your bank and go to fair trading and lodge a complaint. Otherwise all stock will be auctioned and the $$$$$ will disappear.1 comment

Do not purchase from this company
We ordered a bed 6 weeks ago and they delivered the wrong size they haven’t helped and still no bed and no refund this company is a bloody joke!Promised a replacement for 4 weeks constantly calling and always getting a different story and now they can’t even process the refund as promised and still won’t pick up their mistake....Disgusting customer service and constantly lied to.

It's joke!
I placed an order and waited for 6 days for further updated. They didn't reach out to me so had to call them and advised the item is out of stock? I sent them an email before but no response. I even called them two days after I placed an order and said, they will contact me when it's time for delivery. I was expecting a better customer service since they aren't selling cheap items and time is money! Value your customer because there are plenty of other store who do better for sure!

Terrible product and follow through service
We ordered our stools on line. They were delivered and not assembled. We had to assemble them and they are not stable at all. We called our local store and ask for help and they direct back to warranties. Terrible service - terrible product. Very upsetting for our family purchase. NEVER AGAIN

The worst
I do not go out of my way to write bad reviews on many companies as I do understand the process and take that into consideration, however Matt Blatt is actualy a joke! First they claim it's in stock on their website and then said I shouldn't 'assume' it's in stock, then they said it would be dispatched in the next few days which turned into 2 weeks... and then on the day they said it was going to be dispatched said it would be another week and a half when they're going to do deliveries in my area... No issues with order or furniture
I ordered the ‘matrix’ sofa and a tv unit.
Both items came as pictured and in a timely manner with no issues with the items or service. The only slight inconvenience I had was not receiving a dispatched email until after I had already received the tv unit (which I received less than a week after I ordered it). Stay away.
Purchased an office chair.
After 3 failed deliveries due to an apparent incorrect address (it wasn't) and significant time/cost in waiting for it asked for a refund. They refused and only wanted to give store credit.
Needed to get a chargeback from the credit card instead.

Wrong chair delivered, another not delivered at all. NO help from company.
Ordered 2 eames chairs, white / walnut. Only 1 chair was delivered which was the wrong colour, white/ light wood. Two emails went unanswered plus the "form" which the person from the 1300 ph no. promised to email me straight away didn't arrive. No apology recieved for the "stuff up" and inconvenience caused. After writing another (after hrs)email i got an " oops sorry, our bad" on the screen, so it didn't go through and was deleted. So missing product, wrong product and no help. So no, i am not excited, nor have i been able to relax and put my feet up, or whatever the promo says.

Brilliant customer service
I had received multiple gift cards for Christmases and birthdays one year and though they had a 2/3 year expiry date, they all somehow cancelled before I had a chance to use them. I'd been advised by a sales clerk at the Adelaide store to email customer service to see about extending the vouchers, and though I had contacted during the Christmas break, I promptly received a reply from a Customer Service Specialist who had informed me that he'd reactivated my vouchers with no further discussion. I was extremely impressed with the efficiency of both staff members, and the outcome, and can't thank them enough for their efforts.

Poor sales and customer service - 0 rating if I could enter that
Sales rep did not explain clearly at time of purchase (for a dining set) that assembly and rubbish disposal cost is in addition to the delivery cost. Sales described at time of purchase there is delivery, assembly and rubbish disposal services, and then mentioned a cost of $90. I made the decision of paying $90 on the understanding of the cost is including delivery, assembly and rubbish disposal. definitely make it easier” in front of the sales rep. However, sales rep had not clarify at that point that the $90 only covered for delivery and not rubbish disposal nor disposal. Delivery arrived, and delivery guys turned up and claimed no assembly and rubbish removal paid and allowed for. Delivery guys left in haste claiming other delivery lined up and on tight schedule. I was left with 5 very large card boxes and lots of plastic rubbish (disposal of huge rubbish in an apartment complex is not easy!). Okay, I’m a young mobile person who can manage assembly of the dining table and I can manage that part. I cannot deal with the rubbish that came with the delivery especially living in an apartment. I did not purchase the boxes and plastic waste! I Rang customer service immediately, the customer service rep obviously as expected kept repeating their defending lines and terms and claimed ‘ the sales rep had explained that in store and policy stated this and that and we can’t do anything’, with no understanding of the poor service and no clarification offered at time of purchase. If I had been explained to properly before purchase, I could’ve made alternative arrangement such as an air tasker or equivalent or borrow a Ute from a friend to pick up items from the warehouse, deliver and assemble and dispose rubbish at a much cheaper price. No sincerity from the customer service rep from the switch in solving the rubbish issue or providing a solution who simply kept saying she’s bound by policy, and then referred me to the store manager which also did not show any sincerity in rectifying the problem other than offering me to pay that additional $80 for someone to come in to assemble and dispose rubbish. No empathy of the customer’s situation, no flexibility or discretion in how the company would manage this situation. They have totally missed the point of not admitting/ accepting to any miscommunication to the customer. I requested a full refund of the delivery cost or get someone or the delivery guys back to take the rubbish away for free which were rejected quite bluntly. After much debate and frustration on multiple phone calls, store manager only offered refunding half of delivery charge (time wasted and frustration does not equate to that refund amount). Matt Blatt management or corporate, you advertised as a high end furniture company, yet your service is at the lower end. If your furniture has that ‘fine touch of detailing’, your customer service has cut and scar those fine touches. Sorry, you have lost future businesses from my family based on this experience and from my circle of influence. Looking at all other past feedback and review. the company has not learnt or cared to look at improving their process and customer management. How many comments were related to waste and rubbish, how many related to delivery issues and returns... I wish I had look at this forum before the purchase. No wonder the review function in their Facebook and their website are lacking.. Quality of dining set appears good so far but only time could tell after use. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced
I bought the Molly dining and coffee tables in store and had them delivered to my home. I decided to go ahead with assembling the two tables and had a lot of trouble. When I made the purchase in store, I was advised that it would be super easy to put together and it would simply be a matter of screwing the legs on the table.

When I explained that there may be something faulty with the legs not fitting on properly - he advised that I should fill in the warranty form, take some pictures and send it in - after which they would assess it and let me know next steps. I advised him that we were just around the corner from Christmas and I could not have a half made dining and coffee table just hanging around in my living room while they assessed my issue and decided how to proceed. Even if it was decided that the tables should be picked up and returned, it could take a couple of weeks for all of that to happen. When I said this, instead of being sympathetic to my issue and providing me with some customer service solution, the person I spoke to was extremely rude. He responded with "Well, what do you think we should do about it? Give us a better solution if you have one. Sometimes things are faulty - nothing we can do about it." When I suggested dropping it off at the showroom, he responded with, "Well, what are they going to do about it? They're just a showroom". In the end he agreed that it was ok for me to drop it at the showroom. Given how heavy the glass is, and how much effort it would be for me to take it back to the showroom, I decided to call in a carpenter to fix the tables myself. The carpenter was able to more or less put the tables together but even he remarked how difficult it was and that it would have been impossible for me to do it myself. Colorado sofa bed - questionable quality
Bought Colorado Sofa Bed approx. 3 months ago. Have already had one arm fall off (it appears to be complete mismatch in holes and connections, leading to physics-defying attachment) and one leg fall off - with the screws actually put in with wood putty and not actually into the wood! Would not buy again, nor would I recommend based on the quality

Great customer service
We bought three stools at the Oakleigh store not long after purchasing our new house. As we didnt settle for a number of months Matt Blatt could not have been more helpful. It was not a worry for them to keep our stools for 5 months. And with settlement approaching I was in contact with Mel the showroom manager. Mel could not have been more helpful. She was very quick with her email responses and I felt very well communicated with. I would recommend this store and Mel anytime.

So thrilled with my Flint Armchair which arrived today.
I have read some very negative reviews re this store, however my comment is absolutely the opposite.
I ordered online 2/12/19 a Flint Armchair and it arrived today 5/12/19...I absolutely love the chair and the delivery & on-site assembly was carried out to perfection. Thank you Matt Blatt. I couldn't be happier.

Nice product, terrible packaging
Deeply disappointing to find an expensive product bought in large part for its apparent quality and natural timber construction wrapped in masses of polystyrene. Why not use decent, environmentally responsible recyclable packaging?

Omission of vital information by Matt Blatt
Sales staff friendly prior to purchase. However prior to purchase they omitted to verbally provide vital information - that furniture is delivered in flat- packs which may have altered the decision to purchase. No mention of flat packs or that assembly will be required or that boxes would not be removed or that an assembly service was available. After delivery of flat packs Matt Blatt unhelpful - stating company policy. Well all I can say is FLAT PACK THE CEO!

I did contact the showroom directly on the morning of delivery of 5 very large flat packs: they apologised in a very friendly manner but did not offer any practical assistance or advice. I struggled... Read more
in getting the furniture out of flat packs as well as with the assembly (I am retired and suffer from arthritis in my shoulders and other joints) All I wanted was for the showroom to arrange for the removal of the large cartons, which they refused. The only thing they were able to do was apologise and BOAST about irrelevant details. This is the thing- I purchased expensive furniture from the showroom NOT THE PACKAGING which in fact is more of an advantage to Matt Blatt to ensure the furniture is delivered without damage. I paid for the delivery of the furniture NOT THE PACKAGING. The delivery company refused to unpack and remove the cartons and said that many customers were surprised and annoyed by this lack of customer service. I expected more. More information before the purchase and more practical help and assistance after purchase, none of which occurred. This unexpected problem solving was not appreciated and resulted in painful joints and added expense for the removal of Matt Blatt Packaging. Please pass this on to Mr Blatt and family, who no doubt enjoy the financial gain they make by putting the onus of their packaging on to their customers.Similar opinion? Poor stock control
We ordered two items, both in stock. One was from the Matt Blatt warehouse, was delivered in a couple of days. The other item was an online-only product, which I think means its supplied not by MB, but by a company using their platform. Two weeks after placing the order, nothing. Their customer service people are very responsive, but they have no visibility to what this other company is up to and consequently, I have no idea when the item will be delivered.

We ordered 2 solid timber bedside tables on 18 March. Matt Blatt said at he time they were made in Australia and delivery would be one week. They took 3 weeks to arrive were made in China of chipboard and had many scratches and chips. They were total rubbish. Matt Blatt responded to a warranty claim by saying I will have to get a refund from their supplier - in Asia!!!
Question: why was Matt Blatt still selling product on line when they were clearly unable to supply, why did they have a SPECIAL ONe DAY SALE last week when they could not deliver goods sold and why have they shut all stores, are not answering phones and are dumping stock onto Grays on line auctions?

Probably you would have know by now that they are scamming customers. I had bad experience too when I ordered X2 armchairs and after a week they said they don’t have them in stock so either I get refund or get another stuff ! Huh ? I read their reviews online and I promised myself not to buy from them ever!
Karan You should lodge a charge back to your credit card and file a complaint with Dept Fair Trading. There is a form on their web site. Matt Blatt is unloading their stock onto online auction sites (Grays online) I expect that none of this will go back to the customers. The tables they sent me were cheap chip board rubbish made in China and unusable. The worst I have ever seen. Good luck.
