Poor sales and customer service - 0 rating if I could enter that
Sales rep did not explain clearly at time of purchase (for a dining set) that assembly and rubbish disposal cost is in addition to the delivery cost. Sales described at time of purchase there is delivery, assembly and rubbish disposal services, and then mentioned a cost of $90. I made the decision of paying $90 on the understanding of the cost is including delivery, assembly and rubbish disposal. definitely make it easier” in front of the sales rep. However, sales rep had not clarify at that point that the $90 only covered for delivery and not rubbish disposal nor disposal. Delivery arrived, and delivery guys turned up and claimed no assembly and rubbish removal paid and allowed for. Delivery guys left in haste claiming other delivery lined up and on tight schedule. I was left with 5 very large card boxes and lots of plastic rubbish (disposal of huge rubbish in an apartment complex is not easy!). Okay, I’m a young mobile person who can manage assembly of the dining table and I can manage that part. I cannot deal with the rubbish that came with the delivery especially living in an apartment. I did not purchase the boxes and plastic waste! I Rang customer service immediately, the customer service rep obviously as expected kept repeating their defending lines and terms and claimed ‘ the sales rep had explained that in store and policy stated this and that and we can’t do anything’, with no understanding of the poor service and no clarification offered at time of purchase. If I had been explained to properly before purchase, I could’ve made alternative arrangement such as an air tasker or equivalent or borrow a Ute from a friend to pick up items from the warehouse, deliver and assemble and dispose rubbish at a much cheaper price. No sincerity from the customer service rep from the switch in solving the rubbish issue or providing a solution who simply kept saying she’s bound by policy, and then referred me to the store manager which also did not show any sincerity in rectifying the problem other than offering me to pay that additional $80 for someone to come in to assemble and dispose rubbish. No empathy of the customer’s situation, no flexibility or discretion in how the company would manage this situation. They have totally missed the point of not admitting/ accepting to any miscommunication to the customer. I requested a full refund of the delivery cost or get someone or the delivery guys back to take the rubbish away for free which were rejected quite bluntly. After much debate and frustration on multiple phone calls, store manager only offered refunding half of delivery charge (time wasted and frustration does not equate to that refund amount). Matt Blatt management or corporate, you advertised as a high end furniture company, yet your service is at the lower end. If your furniture has that ‘fine touch of detailing’, your customer service has cut and scar those fine touches. Sorry, you have lost future businesses from my family based on this experience and from my circle of influence. Looking at all other past feedback and review. the company has not learnt or cared to look at improving their process and customer management. How many comments were related to waste and rubbish, how many related to delivery issues and returns... I wish I had look at this forum before the purchase. No wonder the review function in their Facebook and their website are lacking.. Quality of dining set appears good so far but only time could tell after use. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced
I bought the Molly dining and coffee tables in store and had them delivered to my home. I decided to go ahead with assembling the two tables and had a lot of trouble. When I made the purchase in store, I was advised that it would be super easy to put together and it would simply be a matter of screwing the legs on the table.

When I explained that there may be something faulty with the legs not fitting on properly - he advised that I should fill in the warranty form, take some pictures and send it in - after which they would assess it and let me know next steps. I advised him that we were just around the corner from Christmas and I could not have a half made dining and coffee table just hanging around in my living room while they assessed my issue and decided how to proceed. Even if it was decided that the tables should be picked up and returned, it could take a couple of weeks for all of that to happen. When I said this, instead of being sympathetic to my issue and providing me with some customer service solution, the person I spoke to was extremely rude. He responded with "Well, what do you think we should do about it? Give us a better solution if you have one. Sometimes things are faulty - nothing we can do about it." When I suggested dropping it off at the showroom, he responded with, "Well, what are they going to do about it? They're just a showroom". In the end he agreed that it was ok for me to drop it at the showroom. Given how heavy the glass is, and how much effort it would be for me to take it back to the showroom, I decided to call in a carpenter to fix the tables myself. The carpenter was able to more or less put the tables together but even he remarked how difficult it was and that it would have been impossible for me to do it myself. I would never ever recommend Matt Blatt to anyone.

Nice product, terrible packaging
Deeply disappointing to find an expensive product bought in large part for its apparent quality and natural timber construction wrapped in masses of polystyrene. Why not use decent, environmentally responsible recyclable packaging?

Terrible after sales service
Purchased 4 dining chairs, one faulty, told it would be replaced, thats 2 months ago. Would never shop there again, big fuss until they get your money, very poor Matt Blatt Richmond

Omission of vital information by Matt Blatt
Sales staff friendly prior to purchase. However prior to purchase they omitted to verbally provide vital information - that furniture is delivered in flat- packs which may have altered the decision to purchase. No mention of flat packs or that assembly will be required or that boxes would not be removed or that an assembly service was available. After delivery of flat packs Matt Blatt unhelpful - stating company policy. Well all I can say is FLAT PACK THE CEO!

in getting the furniture out of flat packs as well as with the assembly (I am retired and suffer from arthritis in my shoulders and other joints) All I wanted was for the showroom to arrange for the removal of the large cartons, which they refused. The only thing they were able to do was apologise and BOAST about irrelevant details. This is the thing- I purchased expensive furniture from the showroom NOT THE PACKAGING which in fact is more of an advantage to Matt Blatt to ensure the furniture is delivered without damage. I paid for the delivery of the furniture NOT THE PACKAGING. The delivery company refused to unpack and remove the cartons and said that many customers were surprised and annoyed by this lack of customer service. I expected more. More information before the purchase and more practical help and assistance after purchase, none of which occurred. This unexpected problem solving was not appreciated and resulted in painful joints and added expense for the removal of Matt Blatt Packaging. Please pass this on to Mr Blatt and family, who no doubt enjoy the financial gain they make by putting the onus of their packaging on to their customers.Similar opinion? Exemplary Delivery Experience
This review is only 4 stars simply because I was not made aware that the chairs I bought would be delivered in a box and unassembled. This issue however, was quickly resolved by the delivery boys who with great grace and charm assembled the chairs. They went even further and helped move some of furniture.
They were courteous and respectful and turned a situation around that would have been difficult for me and my 85 year old husband.
Utter professionalism.

Buyer beware
Was told a week ago that the sale specials would finish next day- still going.
Dont buy unless absolutely sure- T&C misleading. You will not get a refund unless goods are faulty, and you are responsible for arranging and funding return to Sydney warehouse in return for a credit note. I will not shop here again

Making furniture fun
Bright and colourful store with lots of choice, friendly staff who were helpful without being overbearing and allowed plenty of time to browse and choose. We found exactly what we wanted and were really happy with the whole experience.

Great purchase & customer service!
Had been looking at a piece of furniture for a long time but couldn't come in store and view it. Their customer service went above and beyond to send through photos and details to make sure it was right for me. It clarified my decision and made me feel very confident as a customer about what I was buying. Will defiantly be back soon!

What a bad experience.
Im not going to waste my time telling the whole story but customers need to be aware... Dont shop there.. ! I order and paid for 2 chairs its been 8 weeks and I havent had a call back to explain..

Rubbish Customer Service
Ordered specific items 9 weeks in advanced, told it will be no problems and stock is allocated. Go to do final payment and we had to ask everything was ok, put me on hold and said by the way those 9 chairs you ordered aren't available. Offered us completely different looking chairs, wouldn't provide a replacement of similar look rather they were concerned about the dollar amount of the item that they had to provide us. The staff were insensitive, rude, un empathetic and have no regard on the impact this had on us. I would never ever use this company, total rubbish!

Amazing service! Unique in my experience.
I bought a sofa (floor stock) Saturday 13/07 at 12.47pm. It was in my home at 1.30pm the same day. I can't believe how incredible the delivery service was (Sim and Tris). It took 3 weeks for another retailer to try to deliver the 3 parts of my previous sofa. I only ever received 1 and subsequently returned it for a full refund. If only every store had Sim and Tris! Thanks to Tamara also for putting me on to them. I think I will buy all my furniture through MB from now on. Amazing service!

Excellent customer service
I ordered the Klaus desk through the Fitzroy store and it arrived very promptly. No thanks to my clumsiness, I managed to damage the legs of the desk whilst assembling the item - I reached out to Joshua from the store who went above and beyond to get me a set of replacement legs under warranty. The level of customer service has blown me away.

Lacks customer service
it seems there biggest fault is there third party delivery service and without delivering in time! I got a text outside of business hours advising delivery will be 730am - the delivery date was incorrect and I need prior notice to ensure I’m home first. A phone call asking when I would like delivery seems more appropriate. Matt blatt also never sent an email with tracking number so I had no true lead time it’s more of a guessing game. Sydney customer service was appalling!! Overall a regretful buy.

Great service!
I went in hunting for a new entertainment unit and was served by a fantastic woman who even remembered me coming in a week before and what I was looking at. She was a great help in ordering our unit and explaining the delivery process to us and was generally a lovely person. Will be shopping there again and hope to deal with her again too!

-Horrible customer service, rude people who do not take any feedback
-Spent hours on the phone 10+ times trying to organise the delivery, investigate where the items are at
-Not worth the pain, used other amazing furniture stores when refurbished my house and they were all top notch
-Items come very flat pack and take lots of time to assemble

Rude staff, poor customer service and no confirmation on my furniture delivery
Matt Blatt has terrible customer service. I made a purchase with them two weeks ago and have yet to receive a timeframe on when my couch will be delivered. I called customer service to follow up and the staff were extremely rude and nonchalant about the issue, nor could they give me any information as to where my couch was. I called up the Richmond shop to see if they would be more helpful but the lady responded to me in an aggravated manner, saying the shop was understaffed and she couldn't help me until the end of the day. This is extremely disappointing and would like an answer as to where my couch is and when it will be delivered to my apartment.
