We recently purchased the Aleksander solid oak table after viewing it instore at Alexandria, Sydney. The table is absolutely lovely. After 6 weeks we noticed a crack had appeared along the wood grain after very little use. I contacted the store and customer service with a photo of the issue and accompanying receipt info and was pleasantly suprised by how efficiently they replaced it. The new table has just been delivered. The delivery guys were fantastic and assembled the table for me and waited while I checked over every inch of the new produc...
Read moret for faults. It all looks good. I've owned several Matt Blatt pieces over the years and have never had any issues with product quality. We have dining chairs on order so fingers crossed the positive experience will continue.Other Furniture Shops

Delivered 12 Weeks Late - Received Defective Items when Delivered. Read Reviews Before Purchasing
My husband and I purchased a Tulip Dining Table and 4 chairs from the Alexandria Store in February 2018.
We paid for the items in store in full, with the delivery fee, and we were told to expect delivery in 2 weeks.
2 weeks turned in to 12 weeks - I had to chase them up constantly and was never contacted by Matt Blatt staff on their own initiative. Each time I followed up, the delivery was delayed again - and they blame the supplier.
I received multiple calls back from different staff with different stories (remember - I had to initiate ...
Read morethe follow up calls - no one will contact you to tell you there is a delay with your items). This was so confusing and inconvenient that I requested only to be contacted in writing, by email, so I could keep track of any conversations. Sometimes my emails weren't responded to for days. A frustrating experience. By email number 5, I was offered a 10% refund on the table - and took it, for my troubles. We finally received our items, and low and behold...3 chairs were defective. We fixed 2 of the 3 that were defective with good old black sharpie pens – the legs were all scratched – which now left us with 3 chairs and 1 chair that was not useable at all.- 16 reviews

We bought the Norse sofa while still waiting for delivery and not long after it went on special. I felt a bit silly but phoned explained and without hesitation our price was reduced. I was quite relieved as it was a significant reduction and money we could use elsewhere. Interesting they did not insist on a store credit. It was one phone call and our credit card was credited the difference. I am glad of the opportunity to let people know that although others may have had a negative experience my wife and I are grateful for the ease of sorting out our issue was. I would also add the sofa is very comfortable and looks great.

I purchased a coffee table at the Balgowlah store and when collecting the table and getting it out of the packaging, I noticed several scratches on the surface so returned it to the store. They ordered another one from the warehouse which arrived a full week later. I checked it in store and again it was damaged goods. At this point I asked for a refund and was convinced to give it one more try. So, one more week goes by and I go to the store to collect and yes, it was also damaged goods. I was now convinced that Matt Blatt furniture is of very ...
Read morepoor quality so insisted on a refund, to which I was told that they would get customer service to call me that day to organize this. Well no call received or the next, so I call the store to which they tell me that they could have done this in the store but can't over the phone. So, I'll be making my 6th trip to the store to get my refund today. What a joke of a business.- 12 reviews

My wife and I purchased a table and 6 chairs for approximately $2500 from the Fitzroy store. Upon purchase we were disappointed to learn of the delivery racket that Matt Blatt is running. We wanted to pick up our purchase to avoid the exorbitant delivery fee but was told this wasn't an option. It made me think that working that into the price might be a better option so customers didn't think they were being taken for a ride.
However I sucked it up and thought, 'well at least I won't have to carry it up the stairs or assemble it when it arr...
Read moreives'. Nup. A single delivery man showed up at the door and he wasn't going to be able to carry it up himself so I offered my assistance. Conveniently, after the last box had been taken up a second delivery man came to the door with the paperwork to sign. Not only was there no offer to assemble it, one of the delivery men said that he could not take with him the large wooden crate that one of the boxes was delivered in. An all round terrible experience.Very happy with my beautiful timber furniture. Very happy with the service at the Balmain Store. Pleased that it arrived well protected and unmarked. Disappointed that not only was there a truly ridiculous amount of packaging Matt Blatt does not offer a free recycling disposal service.

I bought 3 beds and one table in Oakleigh store, and I asked for delivery and assembling service. When I purchased the products they said they would deliver and assemble beds first as they don't have table in stock at that moment. I was fine with that.
I got a message one day in advance said the delivery would be between 1.30pm--4pm on next day. However, the delivery was arrived at 5.30pm, and they just deliver one table and leave. when I asked for the beds, the drivers said they only got one table delivery note and told us to call customer se...

Compare best Furniture ShopsMade purchase in store. Service was ok, however the retail assistant lied to ask when asked if the product was going to be on sale. They said not in the coming 2 months... 1 week later the 2 products we bought had slashed their prices on this particular range. We don't mind paying full price however we don't like purchasing out of deception... then to add insult to injury when unpacking the cabinet there were no instructions on how to assemble. Now we have a huge cabinet lifeless on its side in our living room until we get sent instructions. Thanks matt blatt - Far from a premium experience but a premium price!

Purchased 2 sofas for several thousand dollars. Extremely poor quality. They were so quick to take my money but when it came to warranty issues their customer service was slow and pathetic. It's been 5 months and I'm still trying to sort out my issues with them. They make false promises don't respond and are just scam artists. Avoid them!!!!! Not worth the money and stress

I recently went into Matt Blatt on the Gold Coast with my 3 children to purchase some stools I viewed online. When I entered the store there was No one else in the shop. One sales person said hello. There were 3 male staff and not one of them came to ask if I needed help. They all just stood at the counter talking. There was no other customers in the whole store and still not one of them asked me if they could help me. I was in the store for around 15-20 mins looking. I was really disappointed as I wanted to purchase 3 stools which were $300 ea...

Terrible - Premium product for display and poor quality product for delivery
I recently bought a diamond chair from the shop. What I didn’t know is Batt Blatt was using premium product for display and poor quality product for delivery. I try to get refund after my dress was ruined, I was persuaded to take the demo. When I actually came in for exchange, I was treated with total disrespect. On top of that, the shop insisted I can’t take the whole package as they pointed out the demo is in premium quality. Then, why they use it as the display to sell the poor quality merchant.
My complaint to the company went into deaf ears.
I will never shop here, and I suggest anyone who will buy there: do not believe the display item. They do not represent the quality of product you will receive.

Extremely disappointed with the lack of service in the Adelaide store. Need a new living room set for our lounge, we walked around the store for 5 mins before either of the sales staff greeted my husband and I. They were too busy talking to one another to notice us. After trying a few different lounges and looking at the console table in person we had viewed online, I went to ask the red headed saleswoman standing behind her desk about delivery. She seemed annoyed that I had interrupted her and told me both items we were looking at were out of ...
Read morestock, but would be available in June. I told her these had appeared in stock online and she told me i "was wrong" and I "must not have checked properly". I was still happy to purchase and put down a deposit but she insisted I pay full price for their goods including delivery upfront, or they would sell out and I would miss out completely. When I told her that I wasn't confortable with this she said while rolling her eyes that "its policy, if you can't afford it now you'll have to come back when you can". I could not believe how rude she was, I asked her if a manager was around I could speak to and was told that there wasn't but I could leave my details and she would pass them on. I'm still waiting. Never shopping with them again!!Bought a great eclectic sideboard/shelf. Love it. Bit of a mission to assemble and maybe an option to pay for this could be considered. Planning to buy again. We visited Fortitude Valley store in Brisbane in November 2016.

Salesperson admitted floor stock damaged when inspecting an item for sale. Was informed that it would not be replaced as risk comes with buying floor stock. Concerning for the less observant shopper that they will be sold damaged goods without disclosure. Bar stool on floor has a bent leg and should have been withdrawn or declared as damaged.
Called store to find out if the stock I wanted was available, asked if I could get a discount and was advised I would. Went to store the same day, gave codes and pics of the goods, came time to pay and was advised no discount. Got the goods delivered but it was incorrect. Advised the same and was told incorrect codes put at check out, no apology or discount. Apparently I was speaking to a manager, who was very abrupt and advised if I wanted the chair I asked for, an additional cost was involved... do not bother with this place. You can find most of the products at domayne, same or cheaper, friendly staff who will also offer a discount and actually give it to you.

We went in-store on May 1 to order 8 dining chairs that had an expected delivery time of "end of June" - That's perfect timing for us as we're moving into our new home them. Approaching "end of June" we made contact to just confirm that everything was on track and was advised that it was delayed until Early August.
Disgruntled that we didn't get any updates and had to contact them ourselves to know that there was a delay but obliged as we thought we'd waited this long ..another month couldn't hurt.
Major regrets as we diligently contacted th...

Where does one start! Well the sales process was very good and we bought a mid range sofa and got a great price and good salesperson so far so good. We arranged for delivery Monday pm or Tuesday any time. Monday morning we received a call about a delivery that morning, informed them we had arranged and paid for no less an afternoon delivery, the new person (not sales person who was a co-manager) said she would tell the delivery company and assured us they would call and deliver this afternoon. Well by 4.50pm nothing, so we called MB spoke to an...
Read moreother salesperson, his response was to check and call the driver and call us back only to say he couldn't reach them at 5pm and we should call in the morning We tried immediately to call the driver and got voice mail not a care in the world this courier company. We now have no sofa, we paid for delivery, no follow up by anyone, we have to make the after sales calls. This is Adelaide a c/s void in the universe and a cowtown that is need of sales, well MB just lost our business and Adelaide can ill afford to lose people paying GST. This is deplorable after sales support with not a care in the world for the customer. What kind of company have MB contracted with that does not follow-up by simply making a call. What kind of company promises to deliver and does not follow through. What kind of company says we now have to follow-up.Who in MB contracted with these kangaroo couriers in the first place and thinks this is acceptable service. Who at MB clearly gives a damn about their sales and customer retention. This is deplorable and so typical in Adelaide it really is. We are furious, we would have accepted this is someone had given a damn and called us but the two people we spoke to today were very young and clearlt untrained and out of their depth. Do not buy from MB in Adelaide and expect delivery, customner service and support. This is far from over we are not holding our breath that anyone will call us Tuesday, God help them if they don't MB will seriously have underestimated us they can take the bloody sofa back - I will not succumb to this sort of service after spending a couple thousand bucks on a sofa it just does not fly.- 3 reviews

Joshua at Fortitude Valley is very professional and well-trained. He tried his best to provide me with the best possible service I have ever experienced. His service is absolutely gold compared to bad customer experience at Nick Scalli Fortitude Valley. They should have learnt from Josh how to make customers happy.
Matt Blatt is new to Adelaide and I thought I'd give them a go, ordering 2 kitchen stools. Paid 50 percent.
Chased to find out if the stools, which were on order, having to come via shipment, were available, then had to pay the rest. Told the stock was in Sydney. Have phoned and checked a couple of times. As others have said, there is no email, phone or SMS notification, or capacity to track delivery via Internet.
Three days ago I was told the stools were in transit, 2 days ago I was told the truck was arriving that day and I would be contac...
Disappointing, such a joke of a company, don't waste your time! You have to take a gamble to buy products online as they don't have a lot of display in store pay $70 freight as you can't collect and if you don't like the product return it yep that is right for another $70! Thanks Milan it now costs your customers $140 just to shop at your unprofessional store and that's if you don't buy!

I was in the Swan St store in Richmond, Vic....staff member with attitude like you wouldn't believe!
I asked a well presented female where a particular stool was made....it was China is seems (I wasn't aware that Matt Blatt is actually cheap crap made in China) I shouldn't have asked. The attitude in her response was amazing. With a rather 'forked tongue' she told me that if wanted to buy Australian made items I should shop elsewhere. Thanks love - I will from now on.
Don't bother with Matt Blatt
Thanks Rohan, excellent customer service from you, thanks Pedemont couriers, fantastic, amazing TV unit, love it. I am well pleased

I bought this lamp originally from Replica Furniture and had to return it twice as it never worked. So I got a refund and went to Matt Blatt. Service was fantastic, friendly and helpful. Whilst I had to wait 5 days for it to be shipped up from Sydney to Brisbane, it arrived as promised and I received a notification for pick up. The lamp is beautiful, it works and the quality and finish is far more premium than Replica Furniture. I won't look to buy any replica furniture from anyone but Matt Blatt.
We bought 3 different lights from Matt Blatt for our renovation back at the start of this year:
2x Replica Xavier Lust Pleat box pendant lights in duck egg blue
2x Replica Poul Henningsen PH3/2 Pendant Lamp Small, and
1x Replica Poul Henningsen PH4 1/2 Pendant Lamp
The pleat box lights are gorgeous - and look great in. However the clip used to hold the pendant at the position you desire is flimsy and our electrician had concerns over it being suitable or even appropriate. He even called Standards Australia over it - however SA apparently...
Read more consider this to be the bare minimum standard. It was extremely challenging and difficult to install them so that the ceiling attachment would actually sit flat against the ceiling. And that's where the good part of this review ends. The other two type of lights are flawed in just about every way - the glass is incredibly brittle and easy to break - the PH4 1/2 pendant lamp arrived broken in pieces, which was replaced by Matt Blatt on request. However the glass in the replacement lamp (whilst it didn't have any broken pieces) was riddled with fine cracks - to the point where both us and our electrician chose not to install it for fear it would break under the strain of its own weight. I contacted Matt Blatt twice via email to find out about returning the clearly faulty product, but received no response on both occasions. We ended up throwing it in the skip as we had unfortunately passed the 7 day return period (which only applies to lighting, of course). The PH 3/4 light wasn't much better - I broke one of the glass components when attempting to construct the lamp (this and the PH 1/2 come in pieces) and couldn't buy a replacement part - just the full light fitting. The three wires that attach to the ceiling fitting had incredibly poor quality connections so it was impossible to have all three wires actually taught when the lamp was hung. It looks rather lousy. The smallest glass piece in the centre is so precariously hung from the pendant's connections that one small knock and it would come crashing to the ground - breaking into a million small, dangerous glass pieces. Ask me how I know.Details
