Not a great experience and haven't even started building yet
The sales experience was great, everything seemed optimistic and we were very excited to be first home Builders... Unfortunately all down hill from there... we are now on our third home coordinator whose ability to assist us is appalling, never answering my calls, I would leave messages and still no calls back. The only time they contact you is when they need to inform you that you owe them money. And to be honest they will take it from you where they can. they will 'look into it' and then not bother to follow it up, email you a $4500 bill because your land has settled more than 12 months after paying the initial deposit, even though this wasn't initially communicated to us nor was it in writing anywhere prior to paying the deposit. This is obtaining financial gain through deception and it does not make me have great faith. The current Health crisis has caused our land to become further delayed and we were still penalized for this from Burbank... I will not be going as far as saying I don't recommend Burbank as the house hasn't been completed yet, so that is still pending. However, if you are first home builders and don't have money to continuously throw at people I would say go with someone that definitely has your back.. And unfortunately it has been made clear where Burbank's priorities lay and it is definitely not within the customers satisfaction. On a more positive note; the colour selections and items accessible to you to choose from are great and offer to fit a wide range of designing tastes.1 comment

Karly has been very friendly and approachable since our very first meeting. She has been flexible and understanding of our situation and worked out solutions which has met our needs. I built with them last year August-December 2022.
My construction journey..
Had [Name Removed] as site supervisor. He was deceptive and made our built experience very stressful. We had our building inspector to inspect various stages of the built and each inspection would have a detailed report of the defects found. We would then forward that report to [Name Removed] to fix. Worst experience in my life
Once you went from the sales consultant (who were good at selling the house to you) & onto signing the contract, that's when the nightmare started. They hit you with all these clauses & costs. It would pay to have your independent solicitor look over the contract & cover yourself. Burbank's contact favours Burbank, not you at all. The build was to say at least, was a disgrace. when questioned, tried to bluff me by saying that it was except-able. I would hate to think what other people have received in the building from Burbank. Once the plaster goes on, its just cosmetic & not knowing what your structure is like. I'm still baffled how Burbank managed to get the certificate of occupancy, when it did not comply to standards. There was over a 350mm drop out of all the backyard exit doors. During construction, Burbank's personal building inspectors signed off on works that also did not comply to Australian Standards & when questioned, they came up with excuses & saying it was fine. The floor supports were spaced at over 700mm & the standard is 450mm. Materials used were of substandard. The insulation had to be redone as if it did not stay in position & fell out, the installers just left it out. I ask for sound proofing of my bedroom because I work shiftwork. They just put these so called bats on only two internal walls. Nothing on the ceiling or other walls. When questioned, they said that is all that it covers. Asked if I could get it put on the other walls, was bluntly told no! The walls in the house are all out of level, the plastering is a disgrace, the painting (if you call it that) can be done better by my two young kids, cannot get my car in the garage because it is too low, the tiled roof is not laid properly, nails sticking through wall on stair case & the list goes on. When I said I was not happy with the finished product, they said they can continue to look at it, but this meant more delays & more costs to me. I was also threatened that they could drag it out to the contract completion date (June2020), which would have been months. Also if they suppress the completion date, the compensation pay if not worth the paper its written on. If you are choosing a builder, I would highly recommend you look else where if you would like your dream home built properly.1 comment

Disgusting behaviour
We had water coming up from our floor boards in our kitchen all the way down our hallway with no obvious sign of a leak. When the plumber called to ask more details he flat out said it must be my fault as we installed the dishwasher after settlement. I had to explain multiple times I have no idea the cause I’ve not seen any leaks, all of a sudden I’ve got water coming up through my floors. After 5 minutes back and forth of him blaming me he finally agreed to send someone out to look.

After debating this with the warranty team I requested a 2nd opinion, someone unbiased. I was told I’d be getting an independent inspector. The inspector showed up with a Burbank car and Burbank uniform. He was incredibly rude raised his voice at me in my own home. He again accused us of unscrewing the entire plumbing system (not true) and said it’s your word against ours. The final report came from that and said there is no way we could of installed our own dishwasher without disconnecting the entire plumbing system under the sink - Which we did NOT do.1 comment

Built our sweet home with Burbank
We built our home with Burbank and we are really blessed to have Anne Finnie as a Sales consultant who is very friendly, dedicated, helpful and knowledgeable supported all the way. Doesn't matter what time she responds instantly for all of our queries. She maintained a good relationship with us. She is amazing.

We are building our home and what we now see on the colour selection for our home colourbond downpipes is complete opposite to our colour selections we had decided upon with [name removed].

We found one of the best home consultants ever, Georgia and Damir (Armstrong Creek). They accomodated us and listen to our needs and been so very kind. Being first timers in building a new home, we were not even familiar with lots of technical terms... Thanks to Georgia who had been so open and so patient with us. She guided us all the way through and gave us some options and what's best for us to meet our needs and our budget. Colours & electrical. So far, so good!
Straight off the bat, we had an excellent consultant who helped us through the initial paper work. Daniel Halton, from Woodlea, I highly recommend! Once all the paper work was done, we went to Edge Studios for our Colours & Electrical appointment which we were assisted by Ruby, a fabulous interior designer and Dalia who was our electrical consultant helped us along the way. Wrong Granite installed and electrical planning not effective for double storey
There are blackout area in between living room and kitchen areas where there won't be adequate lighting and this was not addressed by electrical designer at the appointment. We have just completed lock up stage, when we visited site noticed this would be a concern of safety risk for our family. Hence we approached our consultant requesting adding 6 points with additional cost to be paid by us, but this was rejected, stating once construction has started no changed to contracts can be made. So far we have signed 8 variations due to non-availability of something, if no variation is allowed technically nothing should be changing then after contract has been signed, than why 8 variations were required. Burbank is not addressing basic due diligence on the service they are providing, our request is practical and reasonable. During colour appointment, Antico Bianco as displayed and this was selected by us and we paid good price for it. The stone installed as per stone supplier is NAtico Bianco but it is not the same product as displayed in studio by that name, When addressed with Consultant, we were informed variation occurs and we were provided with disclaimer from stone supplier detailing variation occurs. Stone supplier website shows Antico Bianco by another name, burbank have till date no corrected stone nor have acknowledged stuff up at their selection studio naming stone incorrectly. On investigating further from sources were were told stone displayed is very old display and was not available, if this was the reason why was it displayed, big question on review system that takes place at Burbank studio. Also no apology till date or acknowledgement of stuff up, nor correction or refund. We are feeling robbed of money we paid for stone we selected and in turn the responses we receive or have received till date.1 comment

Very professional and helpful
Thanks to Marc Del Mastro, our New Home Consultant, our experience so far organising our new build has been excellent. Communication has been clear, swift and he's been very tolerant of our many questions and design changes, replying with new costings very quickly. Our experience at the Edge studio was just as good, where plenty of help was given to us selecting colours. We found there was plenty to choose from, even from the included items, which was a relief. We look forward to the next step.

Terrible workmanship.. big Headache that I choose Burbank
Just a 25 square house Burbank took nearly 18 months to complete after signing the contract..with lots of lots of defects..One of the major defects they laid down bad bricks ..first their supervisor pretend to hide the defects..they rendered the House but not a quality finish.. Another Disaster happened, Roof was leaking just after one week we moved in. They replaced the tiles but one of the room ceiling has holes and craks they haven't come yet to fix despite of contacting them numerous times.. Burbank stolen my deposit... Worst builder ever and disappointing experience
If you planning to choose a builder never go with Burbank. I have paid my deposit of $2500 and they refused to refund it to me but doing nothing. They didn't offer any cooling period and even without costing anything to them how they keeping someone's money. It's a theft. They don't rely on their terms as well. They have given false promises and what a fraud company. You have to pay for everything and finally you still get basic inclusions as well. Everything is upgrade and upgrade. They are pretty good but after handover I have seen not much support when you need it.like I have few issues after handover but seems no body cares.there inspectors won’t approve your minor issues by giving some points which we don’t even know about.
They will just make some reason by saying you’re contract doesn’t say this or that..
Very hard to deal,me personally I was thinking to build my investment property with burbank after building my first home with them,but the way they are going after handover I now feel that I should be looking for another builder.

Re: Job 13923 in Point Cook.
Our house took 18 months to compete with 4 site supervisors and issue after issue after issue.
There are pending defects that need to be rectified as per PCI during handover and the site supervisor is not showing much interest. I asked the leftover hard rubbish to be removed which was simply dumped on the opposite vacant block so I had to have it removed at my own expense because the don’t want neighbours to think that we are illegally dumping rubbish.
Could you please assist us in rectifying pending defects so it does not affect our review to be left soon on this website? Thanks

The defects are not part of the maintenance but they are items the PCI and during handover they are also noted on the PCI sheet and the site supervisor was suppose to fix them. Warranty team will knock it back and will advise me to follow up with the site supervisor. This is our second house with Burbank and I am aware of the processes. Could you please follow up with the constructions manager? We are really frustrated coz we are just stuffed around by Burbank and there is no one who is helping us. We waited 18 months for the house and we are still chasing Burbank to fix the defects, it is disappointing.
