Good selection
Have to drive to there. The quality are mostly fine. I prefer easier assemble steps. Delivery fee is too high. I wish IKEA can have more real plant decoration collection

Faulty umbrella broke my husband's finger. Replacement didn't function properly.
We purchased a patio umbrella and stand. The first umbrella's crank malfunctioned, rapidly unwound, trapping and breaking my husband's finger. IKEA reimbursed his medical expenses and sent out a crew to retrieve the broken umbrella and deliver a replacement. We were pleased, although the delivery crew spoke no English and was entirely confused by having to remove the malfunctioning umbrella, stuck in an open position. at umbrella and the stand. I can't really express how much time my husband has wasted on this product which is obviously being manufactured with seriously poor quality control. Very bad show, IKEA. Get your act together.

Love the Ektorp couches, they look gorgeous
I recently purchased 2 x Ektorp 2 seaters in white. I'm extremely happy, they are beautiful quality (thick fabric & not cheap & nasty!) & they even better than I thought they'd look. I thought they'd maybe not fit well given they have covers (too loose or tight in different places) but they're perfect, they obviously ensure their fit. Easy enough to put together & follow the instructions & Im not good at all at esembling things.

Assembly service unreliable
Ikea's Assembler no showed twice and was at another install the morning he was supposed to be installing my wardrobe. Called and tried to return the product and was told I will be charged for the delivery and pickup.

Really bad!! Should have checked here before ordering anything
People warned me but I never listened and ordered few items from their online store. A floor protector and a wardrobe were faulty so I contacted them, sent them pictures. Wardrobe had some shape issues and floor protector had a big scratch. For floor protector, they agreed that it was faulty but for wardrobe they asked me to keep a spirit level at the top and bottom of the wardrobe and send more pictures because they wanted to make sure that it was all built properly. ey came up with another argument that I didn't hook the wardrobe into the wall, that is why it's got shape issues and dismissed my claim. I can't understand how hooking up in the wall can or cannot change the shape? Its made of wood not plastic that you need to hang it up. Moreover, hooking it into the wall is a safety feature so that it doesn't tip over. Overall, they are the worst retailer to deal with so far in Australia. I have ordered 5 sofas to replace the rooms for our Hotel rooms. On the scheduled delivery day we dumped the old sofas and closed the rooms waiting for the delivery. 9:07 am, I have received a phone call from the driver to confirm the post code with me as I put a wrong post code on my purchasing order but the address were all right. On the end of conversation, I have told he would be arrived about 1 hour. 5pm, when I have been told the delivery guy still not yet arrived, I called the driver, he said he could not make it! We have to close the rooms again, on second day, I have got a message stated that the items have been delivered on that about 8:30am, but till 1:30pm no one show up, I made another phone to the driver, none picked up the phone, so I called the office, a lady unswered, she said the 5 sofas have been delivered, after I repeated sereval times that I havenot received anything, she checked again and told me the driver must press the wrong button for sending the false information. I explained how urgently I needed the sofa to be delivered to minimize my loss by closing rooms and unable to sale those rooms, this lady said, without paying the second delivery fee, she can't organize another delivery! I can't support this kind of business services. I rather loss more by unable to sale the rooms but no giving them a chance to gain a dollar from this transaction. Thanks IKEA - I will not purchase another item from you. The tap i purchsed has a 10 year warranty, i followed your instrucitons and send photos and the reciept, but you then send me the response below?

Claustrophobic
Trekking through 400 kilometres of cramped, store pathway isn't my idea of a good shopping experience. I felt like I was lost in a maze, with little chance of survival. I thought I was never going to reach the end. If you do visit, take food, water and a swag; and three weeks annual leave.

Pay a service fee to drive to THEIR store and collect your online purchase? Seriously?
I had previously ordered for delivery and paid $69 for Sydney delivery ... all worked fine. I then wanted some smaller items but didn't need delivery - so before going to the store, I set up to order online and then use the "click and collect" - assuming this would be same as if I went to a Sydney store and selected the items while there. To my bemusement, for a $55 order, they wanted to add a $20 "service fee" for the privilege of paying in advance and picking the items up at their retail store! What a strange policy to discourage online shopping.

Faulty IKEA instructions
Purchased 2 display cabinets, IKEA’s own instructions were faulty. As a result the shelves collapsed, breaking family heirlooms. IKEA offered me paltry compensation that came with a heavy handed lawyer and gag order.

Ridiculous gift card policy
The IKEA gift card cannot be used to make online purchases if you are in SA or WA. How ridiculous is that? What possible reason could they have for this restriction? Does not make sense and very inconvenient!

25 year warranty means nothing if you purchase a house with an Ikea kitchen. Was told Ikea cannot do anything to help me as I wasn’t the original purchaser and did not have the receipt.

Don’t care not interested attitude
On Monday 6th Jan I went to Ikea and made a few purchases. I noticed a wall unit I liked at a good price. The sign said clearance. I went back the next day the price had gone up by $70 and the sign now said last chance. I asked if I could buy it for the clearance price as I thought it was discontinued clearance but I was told no. The item is discontinued as I thought.

Product and service beyond atrocious
We bought two wardrobes with doors for our daughters room. The hinges for the doors do not align, one being about 5cm higher than the other which look terrible when you open the doors. Their Duty Manager agreed that this does not look aesthetically right.
We were told that the misaligned hinges were on the plans. We were provided with A4 plans that do not show this to be the case to the naked eye. IKEA's response is that if you zoom in on their computer screen you can see this.

llow this to escalate. They could simply have done the right thing. They are unable to provide doors that work. They should, therefore, come dismantle and take away the product and refund my money including the original delivery charge. They are making this as difficult as they possibly can with a suggestion that they will charge me for the service of doing so. Horrible and stay away!
Ikea puts changeovers on their list for kitchen installations, and they are the worst company that you could ever go to! I paid a deposit of nearly $5000 over 50% with plumbing and electrical into the quote and from that moment only shoddy and unprofessional work is done. Stay away!

Really helpful staff! Layout easy to navigate!
It was very easy to locate staff members for questions, and navigating through the store layout was very easy! Dressing up your house with all IKEA is a great idea since the whole room setup is well coordinated! All rooms in our newly built house will surely be IKEA from top to bottom.

Hopeless, wood splintered
Bought a bookcase from IKEA that is the first and last piece of furniture I will ever buy from them. Within three months the wood split in one place and now another spot as well. It is less than a year and half old and only ever has a few stainless steel saucepans on it - not even large numbers of heavy books. I now generally buy second hand because it has lasted long enough to be second hand, and so is almost certainly better quality.

Does Ikea deliver to Launceston. When selecting pick up location, Launceston is visible but what was ordered stated that delivery was not available. No reason provided as to why this was unavailable ? The item is a lounge sofa. C.S. stated the system works but appears not too.
