Hopeless, wood splintered
Bought a bookcase from IKEA that is the first and last piece of furniture I will ever buy from them. Within three months the wood split in one place and now another spot as well. It is less than a year and half old and only ever has a few stainless steel saucepans on it - not even large numbers of heavy books. I now generally buy second hand because it has lasted long enough to be second hand, and so is almost certainly better quality.

Absolutely disgraceful
We placed a simple order and Ikea stuffed it up at every turn, from delivery to failing to turn up to assemble. It caused us a lot of undue stress, time and money. Will never buy anything from there again...

Money first - Service later
We recently purchased wardrobe. Paid$ 460. Delivery charges $ 69 and assembled $ 160 . Approx $700.

Shocking delivery art at 12.45 pm. Delivery guy call me mention they will be home in 15 min, if not delivery will go back to ikea and we have to rebook it. Goods got delivery as per ikea delivery guys timing bec we don't want to miss out. I call ikea to refund my delivery money back because it did not h...Read more

Home wardrobe from ikea
I purchased 2 small wardrobes and matching drawers from ikea to fit in a small space, they look great, are excellent quality and very easy to put together. One off the doors had some small chips but when i rang ikea they were wonderful about it and organised replacement door straight away. Highly recommend ikea!

Kitchen doors defective
We are heading back for the third time in less than 5 yrs to get replacement door and drawer fronts. We were only able to get in touch with IKEA after sales service after we escalated our issue to the SA Consumer Bureau.

Discrimination and Abominable Service
For a vision-impaired person IKEA is a nightmare. Signage is small and it is hard not to think that it is deliberately misleading. Once you're in the store you are not meant to leave, that's for sure!. Staff obviously struggle to provide any sort of customer service given the confusing environment and tricky management . Heaven help the customer if the store is 'short-staffed' - this appears to be a licence to just give up and be downright rude. Whatever, shortcomings are clearly the customers' problem, not IKEA's. And then there's that tricky little matter of most of IKEA's billion dollar profits being sent off to that tax haven, LUxembourg. Grow up, IKEA

Very Frustrating
I cant even give it a one star... Im very frustrated. I purchased a sofa bed last week, I asked before purchasing if I can change the delivery address as we might be moving to a new house before the delivery date. I was told I can just call up and change it, only to find out they are unable to do that. Now I have the sofa bed coming to a house where we no longer live, and my only option is t cancel the order get a refund and purchase it again.... I dont have 3days for the refund to arrive to my account, and certainly not gonna pay out another $800 before I get it....my family is coming from overseas and will have nothing to sleep on! Well done guys.....

Disappointed with finished product
This was the first time buying furniture from Ikea and would honestly not bother again. We bought a Fjallbo tv bench unit and despite following the instructions carefully when we finally attached the doors they did not line up and ruined the look of the whole unit. I then looked at reviews on the Ikea site to find this was a common problem and Ikea is obviously not taking any notice of this and just letting the units be sold without addressing the problem. Disappointing. We live 2.5 hours from the store so can't be bothered taking this back and having to try all over again, only to get the same disappointing result.

Delivers what it claims and more
We have plenty of Bluetooth speakers in the market. Most of them are focusing only some aspects of a normal customer wants. But Eneby 20 ticked all the check boxes I wanted, for normal home use. Let me provide them as a numbered list.
1. The price. At 65 dollars you will get the speaker, a handle and an Allen key and two screws to connect the handle to the speaker. As usual there is the packaging and instruction manuals.
2. The speaker runs either in mains supply or on a battery which can be bought separately for $24.99. You can install the b...Read more
attery on your own and there is no special skill or toll needed for that. Almost all other rechargeable Bluetooth speakers fail at this point. If the battery is dead, just go and get another one. 3. There is no power brick. The speaker can run straight on mains and it can charge the battery which is installed in it from the mains too. Most other speakers need a USB brick to charge them. 4. The handle makes Eneby a versatile speaker for home use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nice Table and Chairs
Today I built on my own The Jokkmokk table and Chairs (2). Following the instructions, it is quite easy to put together. it took me about 90 minutes. However I would recommend the use of a battery drill to help with some of the screws as they are hard work to get in. One small issue I had with the chairs though. The seat did not fit squarely on chair fame. I had to loosen off the black screws by about half way to get enough slack to force the chair into its square position. Then put the self drilling screws into the seat. Once in position tig...Read more
hten the black screws up again. This is not very hard at all and only adds a few minutes to the whole job if using a battery drill. This is why the IKea staff tell you to tighten up the screws only after it is put together. In the end quite happy with the look, sturdiness and comfort. Although the chairs feel a bit hard after you have sat on them for a while. Happy with product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Buy back scheme needs work
We love Ikea, interesting products at good prices, good value for money. When we heard about the new Buyback scheme we thought this is a great way to recycle our recently replaced tv bench. We went through the process and took the cabinet to Ikea North Lakes in Brisbane (quite a long trip for us). It was in quite good condition, with three blemishes, two being manufacturing faults. We thought it fit into the "very good" or perhaps "well worn" category. Unfortunately after very thorough going over they declined to take it back at any dollar valu...Read more
e. The Ikea buyback page does say they cannot take back very worn furniture, but with no further clarification. A little bit more detail would be useful to help customers know what might cause a buyback to be declined. Still, it's a great idea, just needs finessing.Similar opinion? Bad Design in product - don't buy it
Recently bought the Kingsford Wall Shelving and followed instructions for install - it was then I realised that the design function and dimensions for install were very bad - dimensions were wrong and shelf mounting design would be lucky to support its own weight - materials were of good quality though - I was very disappointed - the brochure and display are misleading - going to at least get my money back

Do not honor returns policy DON'T TRUST THEM!
I bought a mattress pad from Ikea Tempe and returned it due to a toxic smell, which gave me an instant headache. I carefully resealed the bag. Head office confirmed that it should get a refund but at the store I was patronised. I remained polite but they refused a refund and thought it generous to give me a store credit. I do not buy Ikea products usually and cannot use a store credit, I want my money back for an item that smelled like solvent meets mould.

Product as expected with good delivery service
We ordered two TORNVIKEN kitchen island tables together with other smaller items online. The delivery came very early at the morning at 9:20 while I was outside. The delivery man quickly rescheduled the time for 2pm at the same day. The staffs were friendly and quick.
The products are easy to assemble without difficult with me and my wife. The wood veneer of the island tables are of high quality and feel good to touch.

Affordable, simple
I go to rhodes, ikea around once a month, it can get crowded at certain times but the staff are usually always helpful. The furniture can sometimes be a hit and miss, but for the money and what you want it almost always fits its purpose. My corner sofa that converts to a bed has lasted years and years and is very comfortable and our small bookshelves have always lasted well however I cant say the same for chairs of a table we got. Overall I would still recommend and will be coming back

Does Ikea deliver to Launceston. When selecting pick up location, Launceston is visible but what was ordered stated that delivery was not available. No reason provided as to why this was unavailable ? The item is a lounge sofa. C.S. stated the system works but appears not too.
