Trip cancelled due to Coronavirus restrictions and NO REFUND.
We got a quote on the 28th January and purchased the policy on 4th February 2020. Our trip was cancelled due to the coronavirus and I called the company to arrange a refund or credit as I was informed that as I had purchased the policy after the 1st February 2020 there was no refunds or credits as the virus widely known.
Not only did we purchase the policy, we also paid the extra cost due to pre existing conditions, our couples policy cost $289.
We travel twice a year and have used this company a few times, however, we had never had to deal with their customer service which we’re very rude and unhelpful.

Beware! Never again!
I purchased the insurance for trip to Bali in April 2020 for family of 10 on 2 February. When flights/holiday were cancelled due to Coronavirus in March, with no insurance available (as stated only on their website but not in the policy documents I received with the Policy), I was then able to reschedule the exact same holiday for 2021. I asked Insure and Go if I could leave the exact same insurance $ /policy to be reactivated in 2021 even with any extra cost added. The answer was NO!

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.
We bought gold cover travel insurance before the cut off date for COVID-19 coverage. The website stated that we wouldn't be covered if we decided to cancel on our own volition and DFAT hadn't changed the travel recommendation at time of boarding. It wasn't until we arrived in Sri Lanka that tours and flights we're cancelled. We put a claim in for cancellation and curtailment. Our claim was rejected for no good reason. We will be taking this matter further. Steer clear of this company.

i Lanka on the 15/03 there was no restriction in place. But the "General Exclusion" clause states - travelling TO, IN or THROUGH a country deemed as restricted, making any policy void regardless if you left before any restriction. I'm not sure why you would advertise coverage for COVID-19 before 31/01 and then refuse to cover curtailment due to COVID-19. Seems like a loop hole to me. Will not provide refund on annual multi trip policy despite Government travel restrictions stopping overseas travel
Purchased our policy a couple of months before the government stopped all travel overseas, meaning that we cannot utilise the policy at all. We have tried numerous times to get them to respond even noting that fellow insurers (NRMA travel) are offering partial refunds on annual multi trip policies that are not more than six months old. But impossible to get them on phone and they keep issuing their stock standard email which is to deny any refund if it's more than 14 days since the policy was purchased. This response does not make sense with an annual policy!
We've purchased policies from them many times before with our travels and have never claimed. Will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!

However, our refund policy is the same across both multi trip and single trip policies, meaning that we can't refund your policy if you were outside of the 14 day cooling off period when you first requested a refund. InsureandGo Profit from Covid 19 crisis
Due to the enforced travel bans I requested a credit voucher from InsureandGo for my trip. I felt it was reasonable to request the suspension of the policy as I am unable to travel as planned. The policy would be reactivated when travel could be rescheduled and the insurer could then provide the service I paid for.

Class action against Insure & go
All of us should put in a class action against insure & go. Same as the below responses, i payed $189 dollars for my travel insurance in August 2022 for my over seas trip this April. Same response from them was i should have cancelled in the 14 day cooling of period in August 2022. The Coronavirus was not heard of back then. I have rang them and they stated basically to bad what a joke, and it is crimmal what they are doing. My response back from the complaints department was sorry we can not assist you because you had two weeks to cancel your trip back in August 2022. No transfer of dates
Due to government travel restrictions we were unable to travel at the end of April. I contacted Insureandgo and asked if I could transfer my policy to a new date in April 2021 as I assume travel restrictions would be eased. Not possible was the reply. So one unused policy, what a rip off. I had another policy with Covermore for a trip in March 2020 and they advised me I could “slide” my dates forward to a time when I felt I could travel. Now that is CUSTOMER Service.

Covered on policy by coronavirus but refused premium pushback
Had trip planned for Morocco Portugal and Cruise which was cancelled due to coronavirus but was refused by Insure and Co to pushback policy dates. Apparently Insure and co changed their policy re pushback of dates in Mid March which enabled them to steal thousands of dollars from policy holders Totally unfair due to no fault of ours and Insure and Co took advantage of this to disallow pushbacks which they had previously allowed. Interesting Insure and Co were top recommendation by Choice magazine but now Choice do NOT recommend them. I have emailed complaint to Insure and Go (complaint no. 342715) to no avail to date. I am not hopeful of a positive response. Will definitely not insure with them again - so BAD!!!!

Really disappointed and unhappy with Insureandgo. In Nov 19 I bought a policy to cover holiday in Singapore. Due to coronavirus was unable to travel in April as planned, however the travel agent offered to defer for one year - no additional cost, in fact gave 20% increased cover of expenses . Rang Insureandgo to request the policy to be deferred and was told that was not possible as I already had what I had paid for - ie the risk covered- and I was not out of pocket. I put a query about this attitude on our volunteer workplace WhatsAp and asked whether others who had planned travel and were given deferment were required to buy a new policy, but only found that insurance had been deferred as a courtesy in view of the coronavirus. Given travel companies bending over backwards to encourage travel, the attitude of your company is poor, and I am disgusted. None of our group will ever insure with Insureandgo. I took a Multi trip Gold Annual Policy out in Sept 2022. I had Multile trips planned and have opted for a credit on airfares for most of them but for a Janaese trip which was to leave 24 March 2020 and consisted of 2 tour companies and airfares. I submitted a claim on 3 April and aksed for Insure and Go to acknowledge receipt of the claim - nothing. Doing everything from my end including paying for a doctor consultation to fill out details around the death of my family member, printing everything required, photo copying all our personal information documents ensuring all supporting details were there whilst grieving a dear loss, we did abide by the rules put forward and sent everything across including paid for Express posting. Every step of the way from our end with any updates, I was consistent with communication and even shared all receipts and necessary factors via email so that their team would be up to date with the claim process. Insure and Go is screwing its very customers during the pandemic
We insured a recent overseas trip with Insure and Go. We have had to cancel a cruise, a hotel and airfare. Insure and Go advised us that they will pay only 10% of the cancellation fees before they then also charge you the excess. So that means that by making a claim we are out of pocket hundreds of dollars even with their cover. This is classic insurance industry practice of pretending your covered and then sticking it to you when you make a claim. Do not take travel insurance with Insure and Go. We had similar issues with Covermore when cancelling an earlier trip. Travel insurers are unscrupulous in how they treat customers when you actually have to make a claim.

It is going to be very interesting to see what happens to all these companies after the Corona Virus goes. We have taken out a policy with you and had the flight cancelled and we have not commenced our trip and we do not intend to make a claim. Excellent service
Had planned a cruise through the Antarctic peninsula with my elderly parents and mother in law. Flights from Australia to Argentina and then a 11 day cruise. After more than 18 months planning, just 6 weeks prior to the trip my parents had to cancel due to back surgery for my dad. Due to the late cancellation of their travel, we got none of the fares refunded for my parents.
While the process for the claim took some time in terms of gathering the correct information, once all the documentation had been received by Insure and Go, they turned the claim around very quickly and paid our claim in full. It definitely pays to have the right insurance.

My policy was purchased 19/2/20. My query is did Insureandgo know when i purchased this worthless policy that due to the pandemic they would not be liable for any claims. In other words they took my money for jam. As far as I am aware the pandemic was declared 31/1/20. I feel that should have been informed at purchase. My cruise dates were from 22/5/20 to 5/6/20. Hi Keith, It's more of, if you did travel and caught the virus that you are not covered. But our dispute is that it doesn't matter when you purchased the policy you haven't traveled yet, We all should be getting a refund. I have read that other travel insurance companies are refunding. As it is not our fault that all travel has been shut down. InsureandGo stand to make thousands of dollars if they do not give everyone back there money. I have put in a formal complaint to the ombudsman now, not just for me but for everyone. I hope you and others can do the same, the more complaints the better chance on getting a refund.

If it's good enough for companies like Woolworths Insurance to refund the policies then it should be the same for all major companies. I'm seeking clarification from them on my 2 policies purchased for travel this year then I will too go the the ombudsman. In a spirit of goodwill from them I'd even be happy with credit for my future travel.

They WONT give us our money back or even a credit....Airlines and accommodation has. Tell anyone who listens NEVER use this company

Would we be covered by our insurance for a refund fee of $900 per person ($1800)for overseas flights? Policy taken out 15/1/2020. We do not wish for a credit on these flights as we will not be able to travel in the prescribed time given by the airline
