Perfect if you have fur friends
We've bought it for a while, and I think it is a right time for me to review it base on my own experience.
Generally, it works very well and saves me heaps of time on cleaning timber floors with my dog's hair (10 yro Jack Russell). It also cleans on the carpet, but you have to make your carpet sits very flat, my guest bedroom has a slice of bumps up, it is quite sensitive to detect these barriers and notify you by sound" please remove the stuff on the LHS or RHS sensor".
It cleans pretty much all the corners which it goes through. After th...Read more
e clean, I always clean the underneath brushes and inner dust box, you can wash the inner box and roller brush is washable. The only drawbacks is the clean filter(paper) is not washable and harvey norman or good guy do not sell it, they advise me to order it from the official website. LG website is not helpful, there are tons of different parts for different models which I have to go through myself, it is time-consuming and not convenient. I dont even know what it's called for this filter. I don't get any faults or breakdown for this machine during the past year. I have recommended it to some friends, and feedbacks are pretty good. It is an expensive machine, but it dose its job very well. I remember the warranty is 2 years.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Can'l live without it.
I am so much happier since I have this robot. I was sceptic at first, however it exceded my expectations. We have beautiful floor boards and every morning I saw the dust on it. Stressful !!! We also have rugs, some quite thin, and no problems with the robot. It even vacuums under the beds and under the couch. If I tell you that the floorboard shirting boards are a bit raised (this being an old house renovated) and the vacuum with his whiskers cleans that tiny space, same with the furniture legs you will understand why I am so appreciative of it...Read more
. Indeed it does not like the cables, the pieces of paper on the floor and shoes all over the house...and this is good; everyone in the household is much tidier now. Because they know: the robot breaks, they have to pick up the big vacuum cleaner from downstairs, untangle the cable, plug it in and make sure they do not hit the floorboard skirting/furniture and then unplug the cable and take it downstairs. Halleluiah!! I should have bought it years ago. In response to the other reviews: we make sure we close the doors towards the garden. I seen the robot trying to go into the cabinet so the door frame will not stop it. No drama with the stairs either. And it finds his home although is not placed with 180 degree clearance as recommended. I love it, I could not leave without it anymore! Thank you to all the people that contributed to making this robot.2 comments

Fantastic little machine
I absolutely love our robot vacuum cleaner! This wonderful little guy has dramatically cut down the amount of time I spend vacuuming. We have a single story house, and the living areas are hardwood, with the exception of the kids bedrooms which are carpet. With kids and a dog, I was having to vacuum every 2 days just to clean up all the daily dirt and dust collection from the floor. But now every day at 9.00am out robot vaccum sweeps the floor for us, it even has enough clearance to clean under our bed and the coffee table, which I love! I onl...Read more
y need to bring out the main vacuum cleaner once a week to do the carpets and I generally go over the whole house just in case there are any spots the robot has missed. Our floors have never been tidier, the kids now actually put their shoes away, of course you have to make sure all objects and cords are off the floor, we close all carpeted bedroom and bathroom doors before heading out for the day to prevent it going in there, it does have a turbo for cleaning carpets, but I prefer to use the main vacuum cleaner. I empty the dust bin daily when I get home from work, but I'm happy to do it because it takes 2 mins, rather than the 20 mins it used to take after work to vacuum, and I always give the filter a quick brush as well. Occasionally it gets lost and cant find its home station, but it's easy enough to pick it up and place it on its home station. As long as you have the common sense to pick things up off the floor and keep it out of places it can become trapped in suck as kids bedrooms, then this is a wonderful little piece of machinery, I highly recommend the LG robot vacuum!Similar opinion? Does not do everything it says on the box, poor post product support!!!
Have had this unit now for quite a while (purchased Dec'15) and it has been fully "trained" using the manual and setting up the area we want. You can not leave the unit alone, we have to close all doors and block archways to prevent it going outside of the "trained" area. Have had the unit sent into LG service center (at our cost to get the unit back!) and they "tested" it and it did not go outside of the "trained" area which apparently had a door way.
If we could get the unit to stay within the area trained without having to shut the door...Read more
s or put things in the arch way it would get a higher rating but only just. The whole point we chose this model was because the LG sales rep(s) (yes 2 of them in different stores) not just store staff said it can be setup to work an area and not go outside of the area by "training" the unit. Other issue is, it's ability to not find the home station even if you put it right in front of it. Never going to purchase LG items again as I don't believe they know what their items do or do not... And I did like the look of the LG 38UC99 38inch Curved UltraWide QHD IPS FreeSync LED Monitor. But guess that wont do what it says on the box either so will give that a miss.Similar opinion? constantly gets stuck, can not work unsupervised, can't find its way home
Not happy at all, tried to get a refund but LG asked me to send it for a service, it returned still useless.
Not worth the money at all, and LG refuse to give a refund if it passes their service. It constantly gets stuck under furniture where there is plenty of space, gets stuck on sliding door rails, states there is something caught in its wheel, when there is nothing there. Never finds its way back to docking station.

Waste of money
This Roboking does not work, it will not suck even a tiny tiny stone up and when moving from carpet to wood floor it drops a load of hair and dust on the floor, it gets stuck so often its very annoying, won't even clean after I vacuum. Hopeless and a waste of the $800 we paid for it, I am sure there are better ones on the market ....

Doesn't find home station and gets stuck on everything
We purchased this Roboking (top of the line) in July 2016. We were replacing it after we had an unfortunate mishap with our Roomba IRobot (operator error - not the fault of the vacuum cleaner). The retailer did not have a new model of the Roomba IRobot available on the day and we desperately wanted one (we have four dogs at home so lots of hair). In short, the retailer sold us the Roboking. Worst decision we ever made. In the three months we have owned it, it has only once found it's home station. We spend the first few minutes every nigh...Read more
t searching the ground floor of our home for the vacuum cleaner, as this LG gets caught on just about EVERYTHING! It picks up dust and hair thoroughly but really is only doing half the job. Purchasing this vacuum cleaner was the worst decision we made. We should have waited a few weeks for the new Roomba IRobot, which was trouble free for over two years.Similar opinion? Doesn’t work on Black or dark surfaces, LG Tech Support Hopeless.
Bought 3 weeks ago. This Product will not work Correctly on Black or dark coloured Rugs, carpets etc.
LG Have no idea about their products. When I asked if there were any firmware updates to possibly solve this problem, they said No and that this model will not accept them. Which is Rubbish. I pointed out that there is a USB port located in the Vacuum. That will accept firmware updates. Even Roomba advice in there Manual that their iRobot will not work correctly on black surface’s. Doesn't find home station, lg says nothing wrong.
The vacuum cleaner worked well for less than a month. I have had the vacuum for 5 months now. It has been in my house for about 3 and in the shop getting fixed for 2. It does not find the home station, even when placed on the holder. This means it will not charge therefore it is not able to be used.
It had been sent to be fixed and has come back exactly the same! I have called again and they said I will be charged if they can't find anything wrong with the manufacture of the robot. They couldn't find anything wrong the first time either, yet it won't charge.
Do not buy a LG vacuum! Mine was not worth the $900 and something I paid!

As dumb as a box of hammers and less reliable.
I have had my Roboking for 2 years now. It has broken down 5 times. It has had multiple traction motor failures. It has nearly spent as much time at the repair centre as it has at our place.
It regularly starts cleaning, does a 360 degree circle and then declares itself finished and then announce that it "can't find the home station".
It has driven into an empty room and gotten stuck in the corner.
When it manages to do a clean it does a good job. But these are too far between. Given this machine cost about $1000 I am extremely disappointed. Especially given it sits broken in my living room again!

Love it
I had the Robomaid previously - it packed it in after a short while and of course Robomaid had gone out of business. I thought hard about buying another brand but I find the robots so useful because it's hard for me to manually vacuum now.
The LG Roboking is fantastic. I have had it for 2 1/2 months and it is so MUCH better than the Robomaid. I bought the top model - which was more expensive but I got it on a when it was on special from RT Edwards.
It does a great job of cleaning, it actually gets right in the corners and goes easy from my wo...Read more

Considering returning
It does a great clean & very quiet. My floors are tiled and vinyl in the bedrooms. Big negative is that it gets stuck on absolutely everything, stuck under furniture, etc. all the time and I'm forever rescuing it. Don't like the new idea with the wheels. My last LG machine I could not fault.

Ideal cleaning companion
We have owned this unit for about a year now so it is time to write a review. Overall we have no reservations to very much recommend this unit. Our house is entirely hard surface so this may be different for a carpeted house though we have some thick rugs on our floor that it easily climbs onto and takes care of without hassle. It is quiet has a variety of programming, announces when it is done and auto returns to its docking station for recharging. For the entire time we have owned it we have had absolutely no hick ups. week and runs through the whole house each time. Depending on obstructions and different floor levels which can be managed, it can do so without interference of the owner. If your rugs have long fringes on the edges it may get confused and think it needs to suck it up and consequently get stuck. If it does, it lets you know that it needs your help and after doing so shuts down to preserve power and prevent damage until you come to its rescue. If you have gaps between floor and furniture marginally less than its own height it may try to get under it and also get stuck. The sensors sense the furniture edges and walls and anything it needs to get around and it auto changes directions mapping away from it but seeking the perfect skirting paths so it does take care of the periphery of the floor surface. Based on the edges it finds, It then continues to navigate the floor area that eventually will cover the complete surface. It does clean very well, including corners and is a real time saver. It is quiet enough to set it loose at night while you are in bed but you need to spend some time learning it’s limitations and habits and yes it learns as well. We have some marginal gaps so we devised some simple artificial barriers, such as a large book, to put in front to stop it from getting stuck. This is just common sense and each house will have its own challenges. It is a highly intelligent unit that performs admirably for which it was designed, cleaning. Bear in mind it is not real “AI” rather sensory programming but very good programming at that. We think LG has got it right and it looks and feel a quality product. We find it necessary to empty the dust bin after each duty cycle but it is an easy process and probably a good habit for it is pretty full each time. Besides, it alerts you to do so each time you start a new cycle. We called ours Robby since it virtually becomes part of the family, roaming among us like a pet while we do other things. The good: Light, Quiet, Cleans very well, Excellent programming, Comes with a docking station for re-charging with auto return to base program, Quality product The bad: It's not perfectSimilar opinion? Very pleased with price, quiet vacuum that does a fine job on timber and carpet. We have two cats, s
We checked out the other product reviews and found this to be one of the best. We own cats, so I was vacuuming every day, now it does it for me. I don't mind moving a couple chairs or moving the vacuum when it gets stuck under a low cupboard. V pleased with this product.

Fatal Design Flaws
Robot vacuum's have a number of features surprising to the first time buyer. For example they do a better job than you manually vacuuming, mostly because go over every spot multiple times. Most have tiny dirt bins, meaning you have to empty them often, which becomes a chore. Most have automatic schedules, so you can come home to a clean house without touching a button. All of them understandably get stuck on toys, cords and other stuff they can't see and even the smartest seemingly suffer from dementia, trapping themselves because they can't fi...Read more
nd the doorway they came in via a few minutes earlier. Some also offer remote controls, beep or talk to you, have WiFi and inbuilt displays. It makes choosing very hard. Having owned robot vacuums for several years now, I've decided the only thing that makes the cost, the frustrations of the empty dirt tiny bin and releasing it from tangles and chair legs worthwhile is whether it takes less of my time than vacuuming the house myself. What that means is the Roboking being wonderfully quiet, looking stylish, leaving the floor it passes over clean, and even having a friendly human voice to tell you when it needs help count for nought. What matters is when the Roboking gets stuck, it eventually powers down and thus forgets what it has done so far. At that point your options are to tell it to restart from the beginning (trying to be more vigilant when it gets stuck), or give up and vacuum the entire house yourself. Maybe that would not be so bad if it had a weekly schedule, so you could tell it to vacuum only when you are home - say Monday morning, Wednesday afternoons and skip Fridays entirely. But you can only set a single time of day and it vacuums every day at that time. Maybe it would help if you could tell it to avoid problematic areas of the house where it is prone to getting stuck, but you can't. Even giving the occasional cry for help when it's stuck would help so you don't have to explore the entire house when it is missing but no, when it shuts down it also shuts up. I bought this vacuum to replace a Neato which had it more than it's fair share of flaws, one of which is underrated components leading to an overheating chip that eventually killed it. It's life may have been too short, it was very loud and suffered all the usual robo vac flaws. I can't count the number of times it required help to get through its round. Nonetheless it always did get through its round and thus it always vacuumed the house so I didn't have to. Unfortunately the Roboking works as it's manufacturer intended, which means that despite it not working for me, I can't return it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

inefficient cleaning patterns
My partner purchased this unit claiming what a time saver it would be.
While this unit "eventually" cleans the floor, and suction and noise are ok, it has mind bogglingly inefficient cleaning patterns. I've seen first hand the ridiculous way this unit & I'm sure others go about their work.
This will cause a significantly shorter life span for the product, causing undue wear as it goes over the same areas while missing others completely and really needs to be sorted.
Also I have come home on multiple occasions to find it stuck somewhere with a dead battery and a job half done
Lol, I just had to rescue it again.

Regrettable Purchase – Hope You Like Cleaning (Hunk Of Junk)
My biggest regret was going with the LG Roboking, I had a Roomba (irobot) for 5 years and that run pretty much without any problems and the only frustration was getting replacement consumables (Filters/Brushes) from the US.
I purchased the LG Roboking in December 2014 from The Good Guys in Bayswater, Vic.
The Good:
• Quiet
• Local support network/replacement parts.
The Average:
• Same suction as the Roomba.
• Same coverage/time as the Roomba.
The Bad:

Good Product, great if it is more lasting
We have both bamboo and carpet flooring. I bought my Roboking VR6270LVM from South Korea via ebay in 2013. It was one of the best help around the house I could get. It is perfect for the bamboo floor but one must ensure the floor is free of tangling wires. I had a phone charger being pulled along when I was careless once. For the carpet floor, the dust collection bin has to be emptied after each room as the bin is quite small and we had new wool carpet so it was not that ideal but still good. Now, more than two years down the track, I start to ...Read more
have some problem with the Roboking. Sometimes, it returns to its charging station half-way through the floor though the battery indicator showed that the battery is charged. It is a good product but it will be great if it could last longer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
We love it
We got 2 dogs and polished floor and tiles - some Persian carpets etc... It's amazing how much dust a house generates every day. We love our Roboking - it makes a real difference in dust level in the house. It works well on all surfaces . Battery live is well equoiped to do our 150m2 house. If you leave cords or headphones on the floor - yes it does not like them and will ask you to remove foreign material - but that' only common sense. My wife no has recommended the machines to girlfriend and her boss. What better recommendation than that.
