Updated progress of our house via "voxer app" is really very helpful to us since we are miles away(6/12 hour drive) from Toowoomba. We are happy with the cost which they honestly met our budget. Custom Plans coming to life!
I selected the Stroud Homes Toowoomba Team as I needed accurate costs upfront so I could get finance approved. My blocks is slightly difficult and I do need quite a bit of earth works. Pat was great with providing me usually 3 options for anything our of the ordinary usually a low, med and high so I could decide on what was right for me and my family keeping in mind I want a high quality home but for value.

They know our budget, they tried to brief us through all the options and ensuring we understood what we were looking for, and also provided us suggestions based on their expertise. Nothing was too silly or too much to ask as we are totally new to the building process. Most importantly, all quotes are clearly stated Black & White, no surprises at the end of the building. We had additional requests that comes up during the middle of the build, which were never refused by Lisa. She will have the requests carefully examined by the site manager, Matthew. Matthew and his team had been wonderful. Queries throughout the process were responded to promptly, not only that, weekly updates were provided with pictures, conversations messages and emails about the building process and what was coming up next. We were always look forward for the weekly updates, and it had become our routine to do so & also a big thank you to Shennyn for her administrative support throughout the process as well, it was very helpful. Excellent communication experience and excellent workmanship has gone to the creation of our Brand New Family Home. NEVER EVER - Defective building work beware
The builder has severely deviated from the approved plans and has built the house slab 232mm too high. This has greatly impacted on the use of our property and my family (4 children) have been living with the consequences since moving in, unable to use our backyard. The QBCC has now determined that Stroud's work is defective. As such, our swimming pool will probably need to be removed due to the significant height differences and we will require additional remediation works in order use our backyard. Extraordinarily disappointed - please do not make the same mistake!

We chose to build with Stroud Homes Gold Coast after doing extensive research into builders in the area. Overall, Stroud did an incredible job in building our new home and we are very happy with it. With all the horror stories you hear about dodgy builders, it is safe to say we were a bit wary at first, but Nathan, Henry and the rest of the Stroud team did a great job in alleviating those fears from the beginning. There will always be mistakes made and unforeseen delays during any build, no matter what builder you choose however, the real difference with Stroud is how they choose to deal with it. Amazing brand new home
What a dream team! From our first walk through the display home in Aura to post construction. Everything was a breeze nothing to complain about. The team was so easy to get along with and very understanding. You hear a lot of mixed reviews with people building and the costs that are hidden, we could not fault any of our process. We cannot thank Dan, Barry, Sarah, Katie and Nick from the electrical team for all the work they have done for us over the last 12 months.

make this process easier and quicker for us, the draftsman even visited us at home to reduce the "back and forth" over e-mail and was open with his feedback and ideas. As we had purchased our block of land at the height of the banking Royal Commission, there was a delay between first approaching Stroud for the design and being in a position to enter into a contract. Stroud was very accommodating and empathetic to our situation, and the contract process was managed well despite us requesting a number of unusual additions, like supplying some of our own fittings and excluding some standard items. Where we had complex needs like the design of the home network, the staff at Stroud would happily connect us with their suppliers directly to avoid any miscommunication. Although this process wasn't simple, by planning as much as possible up front we experienced a very smooth build with only a small number of variations and Stroud was usually flexible in this process. Outside of variations, our quote was complete and accurate and there were no rude surprises. Despite our site supervisor changing part-way through the build, the transition was seamless from our perspective. We received an update every Friday and had a reliable way of keeping in touch if we needed to discuss anything. Although the build itself ran very smoothly, we feel that the new site supervisor lacked experience and attention to detail, and at times did not always think ahead or push hard enough to get the outcome we needed. Unfortunately, in a handful of instances it was necessary to insist or ask multiple times for something to be resolved. The colour selection process was straightforward but the consultant did not really offer her expertise and it was up to us to choose what we wanted without really knowing anything about this area. It was hard to visualise how the house would look with all of our selections as there was no option for a virtual walkthrough. This led to some minor design flaws which were not realised until it was too late to change, for example an overhead cupboard in the butlers pantry not having enough clearance, and the powder room mirror being mounted too high. Arranging for the powder room mirror to be moved down was like herding cats, and is a good example of needing to push the site supervisor along. Ultimately this was resolved, but due to the layout of the butlers pantry, the only thing that can be done about the overhead cupboard is to remove it.Similar opinion? I am very grateful to have chosen Stroud for my first home. Its been over 12 months since I moved in and can say Im just as happy as I was the day the build was complete. There were no issues throughout or after the build that werent dealt with promptly. Its even withstood a hail storm with flying colours. Decision to knock down & rebuild our new home
At least four years ago we visited the previous Stroud sales office/display home where we met Martin. Our Home, just what we wanted.
We are well settled into our new home now. A well constructed, well finished design of our own choosing. Initially some delays with the design, but with minor adjustments the final design has all we hoped for. The delays were mainly due to the turnaround times to get changes onto the plan and the approvals required. Post construction there were several minor issues which were promptly correct. One more concerning issue with some external concrete pathing required some time to correct, but when finally corrected by removal and replacement it was completed to our satisfaction. High quality, honest builders.
Its hard to find builders that are up front and honest, who don't hide huge costs everywhere, however Stroud Homes have been terrific! Both in build quality and making the entire experience very personal and enjoyable (especially for first home builders).

Stroud homes have been excellent to deal with from the first time we stepped into the sales office/display home and meeting Martin to picking our colours etc. Everyone at Stroud have been prompt especially Hayley and Geraldine answering all our questions. Our build is currently in progress and we have been more than happy with each stage so far. The price of the build is very reasonable compared to other builders. Fantastic Experience From Start To Finish
We knew our build wasn't going to be a small job as we were wanting a complete turn key package. A home we could simply move into and start enjoying. Our new home not only had to include retaining walls, driveways and pathways, fencing, turf and garden edging, but it had to include our dream shed too.

Even after signing our contract we made a number of changes and upgrades to our plan. Our requests were dealt with promptly as were any queries we had throughout the entire building process. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys! Communication was great with weekly updates from Brendan, as well as numerous other phone calls, messages and emails from all involved. Not only did Stroud Homes Toowoomba have to construct a near 400m2 Customized Wildflower with an Attached Granny Flat, but they had to supply us with our 24 metre dream shed, as well as fully landscape our near 3/4 acre block.
