For months you did not provide service and when I cancelled you tried to debit my card and then debt collectors.
I have hours worth of correspondence and phone calls. (My experience is that wait time on the phone is sometimes 45mins or more) You keep saying you will get back to me to confirm the debt is cancelled and now debt collectors! When will you get back to me???

They did the same thing with me, looks like they do it to every customer. Worst Business ever. Horrible service, slow to bad nbn service, attempted charges on my credit card even when the account wasn't due. Cancelled my credit card so they can't take more money. If they even attempted debt collectors, I would take them to the highest courts. They are not to be trusted.

Why do you sign people up on lower rates and then increase your rates later on without notice? Why do you attempt to take payment from customers accounts ever when their bill isn't due? Why do you remove a customer's invoice when you are supposed to keep them there for the customer, and this is by law? Why do you lower the internet speeds after a couple of weeks of joining? Why do you continue to lie to all your customers?

bait and switch breaches ACCC laws.

Just report to ACCC as more will do this soon then they can explain to ACCC why they are using bait and switch tactics.

I have reported them to the ACCC and Department of fair trading. I have also reported them to the Ombudsman. I don't understand why they think this is an acceptable way to conduct Business and treat customers like this.

Does any one can contact me in regards of latest bill????? This service makes me soooo angry....I just wanted to change my address which took for FLIP more then two weeks to do, plus highly incompetent customer service staff who I tried to speak with for 5 hours, then I needed to chase up the technicians to come and install to NBN box that was prepaid while talking to Customer service. After I spent 3 weeks without internet they sent me the bill of $235!!!!!!!!!!! What for????????? Employ qualified accountants to your firm! Highly disappointed! I will pay pro rata only! for 1 week that I was able to use the Internet!

Get rid off them as soon as possible, they rip you off and attempt to take funds from your credit card even when you're bill isn't due. I have had nothing but issues with them.

We have upgraded our Optus NBN to 100 mb and have a Flip box connected to an ethernet connection. Netflix is stable on Apple TV but Flip is not stable when watching NHK Japan while the NHK World in English is rock solid. My wife is Japanese and watching NHK Japan is impossible without it freezing BADLY every 30 seconds for up to 10 seconds. What is going on? We were so happy with Oceania for many years but this is impossible. If anyone can help, we would be grateful. After reading some discouraging stories about wait times and poor Flip service, I am hoping this may be a better way to proceed.

Hi, I just read what I wrote a few weeks back. Flip TV support was excellent and got in contact almost immediately, explained the issue which makes perfect sense: it's not a Flip TV issue but an Optus issue. Because they are over subscribed in the area, our 100 mb was constantly getting between 3-15 mbs. NHK Japan runs in HDTV whereas NHK World in English runs at a considerably lower resolution. In doing a speed test, rather than pinging the closest server, choose a server based overseas. I keep choosing one in New York called New York Spectrum just to keep it consistent. This emulates receiving NHK over distance and is likely to give a more accurate speed test. After a lot of issues with NBN outages, we's had much more stability in our speed and a consequence Flip's NHK has been much more stable.

I was introduced by Television Oceania and want to view NHK World Premium. At the moment I am following the steps of setting Top Box, which arrived yesterday 27th June. The screen said 'Your FlipTV is connected with Vodafone 5G-23A36.' Then, I typed in password of 16 digit. Then, the screen says it cannot be connected to the internet. And My home has to be connected by the Veetel network.
Do I need to change my wifi, I mean Vodafone is no good? I have never heard of the Veetel network.
What is that?
When I called up your Services, he suggested to go back and type in the wifi password once again. However, I cannot go back to that step any more. The screen always brings me the halfway of the 'internet' step.

Hi Sae. I am changing over from TV Oceania too. Very sad that they will no longer broadcast NHK. Setting up the set top box is reasonably straight forward. I have connected the set top box via Ethernet cable to a WiFi router (WiFi router is in Client mode). That way I don't use the WiFi feature of the set top box. I have given the box a static IP address. After such good service from TV Oceania over many years I am not happy with the Flip TV service (the box is very basic, the support desk has limited knowledge and the NHK World Premium reception has been unreliable). If you send me a message ([email protected]) I will see if I can help you get your set top box connected.

If you are moving from TV Oceania, there are better options than FlipTV. Use your browser to search for Japanese IPTV. The provider I have tested has an Android set top box that is more advanced than the Flip box and uses less power. They also have VOD for programs you may have missed (no need to record programs). Support is excellent - knowledgeable support staff who respond to emails in less than 10 minutes. I was connected within 5 minutes of paying $3 for a trial subscription. Quality of reception is very good across the 55 channels of the trial subscription I purchased. Contact me by email if you want more information on the subscription I tested [email protected].

Hi, James. Thank you very much for telling me better options. However, I am almost getting there and I will be all right. Sae

I was promised my first month free and was told I’d be invoiced in April because that’s when I would start to pay. I got invoiced two months worth? Prorata for the month of March? Even though it was to be free.. I’m really upset about this, I spoke to nicasio several times trying to connect and he said my first month would be free of charge. Since when is it ok to lie to customers?
I emailed you guys and got a swift response (within half an hour) that it cost that much because of the prorata. I then responded bringing up the free of charge stuff and got no reply that day (which was nearly over so fair enough) but then also no response for the entirety of the next day..16th of April and also the 17th of April.. really not happy.

Hi Naz,

It sounds like potentially there was a misunderstanding with our billing system in that we charge a pro rata cost for the days connected in your first month, which is not debited until the following month, however is not a free month. We've sent you a message to follow up with you as it is never our intention to lie or deceive our customers. Kind regards, Flip

I had my remote control replaced (I was charged $20) and even the new one doesn't work. You have to press the same button over and over until you get frustrated and give up. We have no channels yet it tells me to check the internet connection, internet is fine and it's connected to modem directly. I will close my account tomorrow if not resolved. Worst experience ever!

Flip N.Flip TV

You're welcome to sign up before the end of the month but select a later start date for your plan (i.e. to actually activate in October) to take advantage of the free connection special. When completing the online order form on our website, please put in the notes section the date in which you’d like to start the service and we will endeavour to connect as close as possible to this date. Please note that while most nbn transfers are completed within 24-48 hours, some may take up to 5 business days or longer if the connection is an HFC technology and new connections can take up to 15 days. Cheers, Flip NBN

Can I use a Netcom 2607 purchase at amaysim with you guys or I have to buy yours????

1 answer

Flip N.Flip TV

Hi Dany, you don't have to buy our modem. You are welcome to use your own modem on our service provided you are able to configure it yourself. You'll also need to make sure it is not locked to Amaysim. If you're already connected to the nbn with Amaysim it should be fine to use connection wise, however if you are connecting for the first time to the nbn, it will depend on the nbn connection to your specific address if it is compatible.
