Have Cover-more disappeared
Purchased Policy 720100213823 on 06/03/20. Emailed to cancel policy on 21/03/20 just within the cooling off period and got an automated message. I have since emailed three more times and have not received anything other than the automated email from them. I have used this company for prior travel insurance and not made any claims. Why are they ignoring me as they’ve had nearly four weeks to reply or contact me and are they doing the same to everyone and profiting from our cancelled plans...??

Always the Easiest & The Best
Always use Covermore, never anyone else. So easy, fast and reliable. They are sponsor partner of my AFL team as well so a win win situation for us. Never had to lodge a claim as yet but this will be our fifth time using Covermore.

Do not purchase!
Travel cancelled because of covid-19. Travel insurance apparently doesn't cover pandemics. Now we are offered a partial refund for our travel insurance even though we didn't travel anywhere and we weren't able to lodge a claim for the disgraceful Flight Centre charges for cancellation. Oh that's right, we didn't cancel... Called covermore to discuss and asked for a call back. Haven't received one. Thanks for not covering anything and charging me for a useless policy. Do not use.

Cover-More is an arm of Zurich Australia. Beware of doing any business with them they invent any excuse not to pay. I traveled to the Philippines and there were phone warnings of the Super Typhoon all night. It hit in the morning and wrecked Manila airport. I was booked to fly to Hong Kong that day. Zurich are notorious all over the world for deliberate delays and excuses for not paying. Governments are negligent and irresponsible for allowing them to operate. Cover Nothing should be their name
Had to cancel our cruise when my wife had her cancer come back after the biopsy showed all clear. We then booked, however before the departure date came around it returned aggressively. We had no choice but to cancel but they stated was a pre existing condition. Second operation was more invasive however has gone for good we believe as do the doctors. Had we read the Google reviews before we accepted the travel agents recommendation to use Cover More we certainly would have used others. stay clear of these people as had to chase for months for an answer and are good at asking for more info, repeatedly, to delay processing and after pushing hard for an answer, got a rejection. Stay well clear

Cancel at anytime.
Hi I took out travel isurance with cancel at anytime policy in Feb 2020 for a trip to Africa July 2020. I have asked to cancel my trip but the agent is waiting for sth african airlines to refund the refundable part of my airfare ticket and then pay balance under insurance. They have told me they need to wait for the airline to pay up...it has been over a month now and nothing. Why wont covermore pay up and then they can seek airlune refund? Isnt that the point of insurance?

Absolute disgraceful policy terms and even worse customer service
I purchased an online policy at the time of booking two return domestic flights in November 2022 with Virgin Australia. We were scheduled to fly in June 2020 from Adelaide to Brisbane to see family. Flights have been cancelled by Virgin due to COVID19. I submitted an online claim on 25/03/2020 and was advised that it would take 10 business days for a determination of my claim to be made. oughout the day. Only on one occasion was I able to speak with a consultant who advised me that she could not help me as I would need to be put through to the Claims Department. Three hours later and I was still on hold. I eventually hung up. The lack of customer service is appalling and NEVER will I purchase a policy from this company again. I have now called Cover-More back again a second time. The lack of communication is totally unacceptable and even more disgusting is the excuse that I have been provided with to deny my claim due to these stressful circumstances. I have been advised that although my claim has not been reviewed by a claims officer, it is 'most likely' that my claim will be denied due to the wording of the policy. Oh please! How convenient. This company is disgraceful. Just repulsive money grabbing thieves. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Luckily for me, I have a girlfriend who is a private international travel agent and I will advise her to never, ever recommend this company to her many, many affluent clients. Took out Covermore Insurance for travel to Singapore departing 14th March. On the 13th March the Federal government directed people to not travel out of the country unless essential. Cancelled trip and sent Covermore an e-mail requesting a refund if possible.

Worst experience ever
Purchased a policy for my trip thinking I'll be covered to get a service for the money that I paid, The trip has been cancelled by the airline and they didn't give us an option for a full refund, thought thats fine as I have a travel insurance but it turns out Covermore does not cover anything.
After many emails and a long waiting on the phone and chat, they said you are not covered if the airline cancelled the trip, and not covered if I cancel it as well, but the policy clearly saying that I'm covered for the cancellation.
Just one of the worst experiences that I can tell if someone asks me
For the people who care about reading the reviews, I'm telling you that they should change the name from Covermore to Coverless, end of story.

Once again I have to ask myself, why did I choose Covermore?
I put in a claim in at the end of January as we had to cancel our travel into France due to industrial action in December. We are covered for a trip which never happened. Perth to Thailand 26th March to 8th April. pol# 720100127949
We were unable to fly as our flights were cancelled by the airline due to Covid 19 problem.
We are not happy with the service because after several emails, attempted Chats and long waits on the phone we have had absolutely no response other than Auto emails. We have already changed our flights to a much later date. So all we require is the chance to change our insurance dates. Covermore web site should give you the chance to do this and this would make customers much happier. At the moment we are not happy.

Claim Declined
I purchased additional cancellation cover in a Premium package at the start of Feb 2020. 10 days after submitting the claim it was declined. Apparently the whole world shutting down at no notice is not valid grounds for a cancellation claim. Disappointed.

Disappointed
I purchased travel insurance to travel from Australia to the Netherlands in March 2020. While I was there the Australian government imposed the COVID-19 travel ban. I tried to get an earlier flight out but was unsuccesfull. Because of the travel ban I needed to apply for an exemption to travel. I could not board my original flight and not long after the airline cancelled all flights. Once I received the exemption I had to purchase a new one way ticket ( considerably more expensive) and was able to fly home.

my holiday. I have to cancel and rebook. But I will only get a partial refund now. I found this to be very disappointing and figured I'd try contacting Covermore again for more information. They person I spoke to via chat was lovely and gave me one answer saying that I can change the dates and any price difference between the new dates and no CFAR I will be refunded I just need to call. So I called the next day. Different answer this time, no change of dates and a partial refund. Not only was the person I spoke to incredibly dismissive. They gave me a different refund price to what my travel agent told me and when I said that the response was 'thats between you and the travel agent' in a very rude. Well I just double checked my policy it is not between me and my travel agent it is Covermore since you quoted the wrong cost for my insurance to begin with taking off nearly $100. I think Covermore saying that because they have taken a product I paid extra for off the market I now cannot change the dates, which I had done before and then they expect to keep over $250 from my $500+ policy is a bit rich. I purchased this insurance in October long before COVID-19 was known about and did the correct thing and followed all government travel advice of changing my holiday. If Covermore wants to keep half that policy money then it will be the last cent they ever get from me.1 comment

What's the point
Bought travel insurance at the start of February with cancel for any reason cover. Apparently no flights leaving Australia is any reason. Then to add insult they will generously give me a partial refund for a trip that hasn't started and they won't cover anyway.

Simply NO response
I am overseas and trying to contact CoverMore. They are not answering emails, LiveChat - huge wait to "speak" and then useless information. Really disappointed. I won't even mention the fact they wouldn't refund / cancel my insurance which cost almost $1K for a trip that was scheduled for April - requested cancellation in February - basically told to forget about it Shocking service. Is this the definition of profiteering? Shame on you CoverMore. I have used you over 20 times in the past - no longer will be the case.

Lack of communication on the phone or emails.
Totally disgusted in not being able to talk to an operator about a claim after a week of trying on the phone ... know one will pick up even after being on hold for up to an hour. Emails requesting contact were not responded to in that time as well.

My wife and I took out a yearly policy. So when the trip in April was cancelled, the Pandemic clause meant a dead end. But now we cant travel and when we get around to completing the trip to Europe, the policy will run out. But the policy should still cover the trip we planned to do because It just cannot be completed thanks to government rules. Or Covermore should provide us with a refund for the remainder of the policy.
So can I pause my yearly insurance ?

I had a trip booked which has been cancelled due to Covid 19. It was a package of airfares, land tour and alaskan cruise. I have now re-scheduled the trip until Sept 2021 and wanted to transfer my travel insurance policy from the original booking (with no claim) to the re-scheduled. My current insurer has reclined. Hi Cynthia! Regrettably, I’m not an insurance policy expert! It would be something you would have to address with an insurance provider or the travel agent you booked with! But I would question what is needed and when you should consider coverage from! Also ask is Cover-more the right insurance agent! I’m personally not getting coverage for my next trip until I’ve boarded a plan and only for unforeseen medical expenses! I no longer trust any insurance provider!
