Best price and reliable, my new favourite !
Can't fault this provider. I did a tonne of research, and the only cheaper option would have been a slower connection (30Mbps with Belong). Flip Family is 43Mbps unlimited, for under $60/month. Connection was booked 3 weeks in advance, and occurred within 1 day of the booked day. Speed is good, see attached image. No dropouts. Communication was via webchat, where they would reply within 2 hours via email. No dramas. Only one minor thing, I am unable to see my data usage on this company's website. Cheap as chips, but it works.

My parents are subscribed to Flip Tv, to one of the international language packages. I called Tuesday on their behalf, as some of the channels had disappeared, with no notification, and yet we are still paying the same for this. The guy I spoke to wasn't very helpful, could not give me any explanation as to why, care factor zero, no apology as to why this was, and also could not find me on the database, had to spell the surname numerous times, and then told me a technician would call me back. Bad start, got it sorted.
Signed up for the family 50 nbn last week and couldn't connect, multiple calls to flip to find out what the cause is. Told they will call back within 48 hours every time and never did. Called today to cancel and was put through to a bloke named Jorge, he asked some questions and figured out that we had been told to connect to the wrong uni d port. Once that was changed we had internet. connection has been good so far, seems that you need to speak to the right person to get a result. Good job jorge!

my experience to date.
Its been over a week since I churned and it has generally been okay. My internet has been generally fine and faster than the ADSL2 I was previously using. My telephony voice quality is actually better than the quality through the exchange. We did have at least one dropout that I am certain of. This occurred last Saturday night for about a half an hour. It was during this time that I was to learn that there is no after hour support. I did call on the following Monday and asked to speak to a FlipTV manager about the lack of after hour support BUT yet to receive a call back :<
With the exception of this one incident, I am pleased with our service.

Bad customer service and illegal money transaction
I'm not going to talk about flipTV taking 10 days to put our internet on when we switch from Dodo to them, as the customer service was really bad, giving us absolutely no update, being unable to tell us what was happening, promising phone call that never happened and more and more....
No today we reach a new level. we are suppose to pay 39.99$ every month with a 2 months in advance ... ok, a bit unusual, but ok. Except FlipTV took 45.05$ from out bank account. When you call them, they say, we forgot you didn't have to pay for the 10 days we owe...Read more

Terrible customer service
Most unhelpful customer service. Thinking of moving to Flip. Its online tool shows my home is serviced with HFC, but I am certain it's wrong as I have FTTP service now from another provider. Called the customer service but the lady insisted their web site was correct, however she didn't understand the difference between HFC and FTTP. She wanted to transfer the call to tech support but was then told the call volume was high so couldn't offer help.

Cheap and Nasty.
I was told when I signed up that there would be no interruption switching from my old company to Flip and I would pay 2 months up front and not billed until the end of the 2 months. I was 4 days after they disconnected my old service until they sent me the modem configurations even after talking to them as to why I had no connection. They also billed me 1 months earlier than they stated and changed their story when I asked about it. You get what you pay for I guess

This can occur for example, if there is a pending disconnection from the old provider at the same time, otherwise the service should simply change over to us with no downtime. For clarification in regards to the billing, our Pay In Advance plans are billed 2 months upfront and monthly ongoing 2 months in advance. Great and reliable speed
Frequently checking speed, it is around 35Mbs to 42Mbs, good speed.
However, I still do not access Free International TV Channels unless sign up to order a TV box and upgrade package.

With all of the horror stories we hear about connecting to the NBN system we can sometimes forget how the flock of providers are doing in the system. and fire up my NBN connection. The provider that I'd been with for about 5 years had put up their charges for the switch from about $40 per month to $60 (approx.). Then I found Flip (won't bore you with the details how). They had a sub $40 offering ... the "Value 12" plan. Yeah, I know slow but I've found it great, (not 'spozed to be better than ADSL but it has been for me. Greased Lightning by comparison!). So I phoned their sales number and hit the jackpot again. The lady I spoke to (I think her name was "Jen") knew her stuff and wasn't the least bit pushy. Apart from her accent that reminded me of swaying palm trees on an island in the Philippines, she could have been my mum! Sounded concerned, caring ... when I asked about the pre-configured modem they advertised she suggested that I could buy a modem locally ... I thought about it for a while as she waited for me to decide. Gave my credit card details and went with their modem. :) Smart move! When it arrived the day after my ADSL modem "died" (NBN activated) I simply unplugged the old modem, plugged in the new .. "Lift Off! We have Lift Off ... The Launch Vehicle has cleared the tower! I couldn't believe it at first. Sooo easy. I'd been worrying about it for months. Should I forget about ADSL and the copper connection and just go wireless?1 comment

Very disappointed
Had issues with dropouts in the first week .. It got fixed been fin for 9 weeks until recently now they get the technical staff to call u back.. which they never do. Was very happy with flip at the start but may go to another provider if It doesn't get fixed soon

Excellent value, but service need improved.
I STILL have issues on my connection. The telephone is in 02 area instead 03. Also when switched off during night, next morning I have to re-set modem again. But I wish could solved soon. Otherwise I leave soon.

Cheap and quick
Been with them for 6 months. $60 for NBN 50 and $10 for phone can't beat that. The big bonus for me was no connection fee and can bring your own modem - I couldn't find that anywhere else

Always dropping out, super slow, defs not 12mbps its fttp also so they're definately not delivering what's advertised. dns problems all the time meaning pages jumpy when loading or don't load at all.. now nbn service has just disappeared, gone, and after multiple modem resets still nothing so it must be on them. Call centre puts you back into hold pattern, no info during sign up process regarding service availability times. We'd suggest you have a research as to all the different factors that can affect the speeds you receive- for example- modem/router quality, presence of malware, software configuration, direct or wifi connection etc. but of course completely your choice if you believe you can receive a few mbps more elsewhere for a higher monthly price. Happy with speed and price. Pay 50% less than big providers
I have never experienced any dropout. Speed is exactly the same as what they advertised .I can watch Netflix, youtube without buffer. Happy with technical support as well. Price is competitive compare to big providers. I will recommedo to my friends

It wasn't that hard to setup the router. I selected PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) ("802.1P Priority = -1", "802.1Q VLAN ID = -1", seemed to be automatic), added Username and Password and it worked.

Still good
We are kind of broke, so any place we can pinch pennies is welcome. At $40 this plan is $20 cheaper than any other unlimited plan. It is fast enough to stream 2 Netflix HD streams, though a little shy of the requirements to stream 4K content (I have not tested).
The internet has gotten more bloated, so some websites do seem to take 2-3 seconds to load. An adblocker would likely help. I grew up with dialup so have no complaints.
This connection is on fttp. Last fliptv connection was on fttn. I notice no difference in practice. Customer and tech support has always been friendly and efficient in the rare event I need to talk to them. Likely overseas, but I could care less. Ty for a good service.

Value for money. Good experience.
Both Sales and Technical Support were fantastic. It got quickly connected by Rxxxxxxx (Technical Support) in the morning as scheduled. No drop out bad experience. Possibly in my area, a bit of congestion or whatever not hitting download 10mbps (wifi) but I am ok with the 9.0 to 9.9mbps. My other friends have better experience than I have with their download speed. Simply great value for money as long as they retain base price $39.90 minimum for one year.

For months you did not provide service and when I cancelled you tried to debit my card and then debt collectors.
I have hours worth of correspondence and phone calls. (My experience is that wait time on the phone is sometimes 45mins or more) You keep saying you will get back to me to confirm the debt is cancelled and now debt collectors! When will you get back to me???

They did the same thing with me, looks like they do it to every customer. Worst Business ever. Horrible service, slow to bad nbn service, attempted charges on my credit card even when the account wasn't due. Cancelled my credit card so they can't take more money. If they even attempted debt collectors, I would take them to the highest courts. They are not to be trusted.

Why do you sign people up on lower rates and then increase your rates later on without notice? Why do you attempt to take payment from customers accounts ever when their bill isn't due? Why do you remove a customer's invoice when you are supposed to keep them there for the customer, and this is by law? Why do you lower the internet speeds after a couple of weeks of joining? Why do you continue to lie to all your customers?

bait and switch breaches ACCC laws.
Just report to ACCC as more will do this soon then they can explain to ACCC why they are using bait and switch tactics.
I have reported them to the ACCC and Department of fair trading. I have also reported them to the Ombudsman. I don't understand why they think this is an acceptable way to conduct Business and treat customers like this.
