Love, love, love Skymesh

published

My connection is totally reliable even in bad weather which is brilliant especially when you're out in the country. Notifications of scheduled maintenance is supplied well in advance and usually takes place during times suitable to most customers so no complaints on that score. The added bonus data for school holidays is brilliant and the grandkids love being able to use the computer almost as much as they do at home where they have unlimited data (but have to pay for that privilege). I wouldn't change my provider in a hurry unless things change drastically and I'm hoping that that's not the case so until then and if things keep up the way they are you have one happy (Jan) customer. Thanks Skymesh and keep up the excellent work.

Pleased to have this access.

One issue is the data usage comes of my standard peak allowance each month, even though time stamping shows my main days use is most often in the off-peak times.

Great value, great service. Would highly recommend

Connection has always been good, even in really bad weather. Always notified well in advance to any upcoming maintenance. Would love to have unlimited data but in the country so may take a while.

2 years with Skymesh, no problem I'm very happy. The connection is acceptable. I don't know other suppliers but about Sky mesh, I haven't to be dissatisfied. When the dish moved with the wind, Skymesh fixed it quickly and of course for free.

Decent Service ...

published

Sky Muster has been reasonably reliable with our current 'UP TO' 25Mbs speed. I have regularly checked speeds and it is usually close to what they claim. However I notice that if you upgrade for a period (even just a month) then wish to downgrade after that period, you will find the plan you were on previously has disappeared and is replaced with a plan costing more. This means you will need to pay more for a comparable speed/data plan. Sky Muster seems to operate as a one way 'upward ratchet' service ... in that there is no going back. I guess this is smart business practice but a cunning arrangement for the unsuspecting.

Very good solution for our needs

We live in the country and have always had good reliable service. I do not use the computer a great deal so I am satisfied with the plan I am on. I have had to contact Skymesh only a couple of times in 10 years and have always spoken to pleasant, friendly and helpful people.

We changed our provider because we were paying to dollar for crap service. So far with Skymuster, we’ve had no problems, change over was seemless. We’re pretty happy so far.

Useless Service - 1mbps Speeds v Advertised 25mbps

published

I currently have an ongoing conversation going with Skymesh about their misleading advertising and their practically useless evening download speeds, which are as low as 1mbps. It’s either their problem or it’s an NBN issue (which I doubt given that my understanding is that the 2 Satellites are undersubscribed) and I intend to take the matter to both the ACCC and the NBN if Skymesh don’t fix the problem fast.

Morning Sean, Thanks for taking the time to write your review. Sorry to hear you're having speed issues at current. So we can investigate further, would it be possible to confirm your support reference number? - Thanks, Ben

Appallingly slow

published

My download speeds are now less than I mp . Totally unacceptable and most disappointing given what skymesh maintain are their speeds.
No satisfactory solution is offered and from other reviews none likely.
Next stop the accc.

8.24 pm Speed with three speed tests

published

My evening internet speed is crippling and I have to wonder if SkyMesh are taking on to many customers, and can no longer meet mutual obligations. 25 mps plan. Three speed tests 4.3 mps (Fastcom) this was the one the skymesh consultant referred me to, 2.13 (Wistleout), 1.94mps (Google). These were all taken with a direct connection over a 30 minute period. I am paying $49.00 a month for this, when I signed up for a 25 mps plan. I will be ringing NBN prior to contacting Skymesh again.

connection dies daily outside or support hours compounded by poor peak hour speeds

published

as stated in title, my connection drops almost daily, sometimes up to an hour.
whenever i have contacted technical support, they have pushed the blame to nbn, which very well might be true, but saying this after making me perform the "list" during every call.
peak hour speeds (1500-0100) connection speeds drop to under 8mbps (paying for 25).
if ur going to get nbn, you would be better off forking out for a fibre connection and stay away from fixed wireless.
(also written on mobile as connextion has been down the last 3/4 hour)

Slow service.

published

The internet connection is horrendously slow. The customer service is also horrendously slow. Turns out there is apparently a faster satellite for cheaper rates than what I have but (like the banks) they don't TELL you these things.

Hi Stu
Skymesh are a great company to deal with, they will have answers to all your questions
We would not have communication service if it wasn’t for their help
You need a power connection source for the modem and something stable for the dish to be mounted on
Please it’s worth a call to the Skymesh team

Hello We have Skymesh at our rural property, but when I am away schooling the kids I have Belong NBN. I want our skymesh email account as our main one, but I cannot configure as Belong do not have an email service. I can receive skymesh emails, but not send. Can you please help?

Hi there,

I have contacted Skymesh at this email address [email protected]

I think that a good option would be to setup an account, say with Gmail etc, which you should be able to access from either NBN service. And you should be able to setup Gmail to check your skymesh email and/or have your skymesh emails forwarded to your gmail account. This also gives you some protection against viruses, spam, etc.

Many thanks. I think that’s the way I’ll have to go.

Hi, We live in a rural area & tether using our mobile phones. The kids do the same with there phones for gaming. This becomes expensive & is quite slow. I have checked & your fixed wireless is available to us, Can you supply an unlimited service fast enough for gaming, downloading & casting etc.......
Cheers

Hi there, we also live in a rural area and are happy with sky mesh for internet. But have had our landline removed and are each paying $10.00 pm for mobiles with Belong plus $5.00 per month for unlimited calls to uk. We have no extra costs, the service is good. But we use our phones for calls only. I can highly recommend both Skymesh and Belong. I hope this helps.

I think your question was meant to be sent to Skymesh?

Adrian

Skymesh speed will allow streaming, but gaming may be a problem. Check download speeds on each of the Skymesh options.
