Feeling at home before building a home
My partner and I have recently begun the journey of buying our first land and building our first home through Burbank.
The process thus far has been streamline and stress-free thanks to the help of our New Home Consultant Karly Tirado, who has been there to help us with our 100 decision changes and a million questions as hesitant first time builders.
It has been really comforting to know we have someone local and trustworthy to help explain all the details to us. All the options were laid out to us and explained. Costings were organised and quotes generated in a timely manner.
So far everything has been really great - here's hoping the build itself is just as pleasant as the prep work has been.

Building Nightmare with Burbank
Hi All,
I would like to share by current experience building with Burbank.
It's been almost a year, since the start of the build of my home and it has been a nightmare from the very beginning.
Poor communication, ignorance and overall disrespect is a good summary of my experience so far.
After a painful 12 months, I'm currently at the PCI stage. My last independent inspection was 4 months ago (mid December) and I'm still waiting for a response from the Supervisor/Regional manager on the final defects.

Excellent customer service
I would like to thank Tim, sales agent in the ACT region, for modifying the floor plan multiple times based on our feedback. During the color selection at the edge studio, Hayley explained the items and inclusion list with patience. After the color selection day, I made request for new modifications and all of them were accepted. Gemma, new home coordinator, had organised the council approval and other documents quickly and on-time. Since I am the first home owner, she has been answering all my queries in details. Now, I am looking forward to meeting the site manager and starting the physical construction. I will keep sharing photos as the construction progresses.

No one is acknowledging my emails
post construction.
we have had the 6 months warranty check months and months ago but nothing has been fixed. I have sent multiple emails to follow up the things that weren't on the checklist (eg missing dimmer in master) and the least you could do was to acknowledge receipt of the email!

Burbank is a joke!!!
Absolute scum of the building industry. Highly unprofessional and absolutely zero concern for their clientele. Going through the paperwork stage was laughable with the constant errors, and the empty apologies that I’m sure are doled out everyday. And this is apparently Australia’s 4th largest builder. Once the contracts are signed the red flags pop up all over the place, sadly when it’s too late. color selections. Don’t worry I felt the same!!!! And then comes the construction. This mob unashamedly builds homes to their own in house sub-par standards. They are cheap, nasty, and will do nothing to satisfy their customers!!!! They will happily damage your home during construction then cover it up by the cheapest available means. Below is a photo of my hardwood door that I selected to add something to my home. They damaged the jamb then filled it with putty and then in order to hide it painted some of my jamb black and left the rest brown. Mind you the edge studio charges several hundred for this service. A child could do a better job than what I got and this is up to their standards coming from management. Rather than change a low cost item they did everything to avoid changing it. Not to mention the poor paint job inside, amongst other things. They are absolute scum! A truly untrustworthy company, with absolutely no heart. I would never build another home with burbank even if it were half price. I have handover in a couple of days and the only thing I am excited about is the fact I can get this poor building company out of my life.

Promise our dream home, turned into a nightmare
When we went to Burbank we had a big dream, to build the ultimate family home, and we were promised the world to quote the sales rep " our standard is other builders upgrades", they even took us all out to lunch to celebrate the coming construction of our house as at the time our house would be the biggest they had built in Adelaide to date.

Best Building Maintenance Supervisor
We bought a property in Jackson Green Estate in Clayton South which was built by Burbank Homes.

Great build experience
We had a great experience with our build with Burbank. Had the pleasure of having Michael Wesley looking after the overview of the site and are really happy with the result. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner, any questions or issues/hiccups were handled quickly and any delays or problems were relayed with a solution already worked out. Didn’t expect a flawless process but Michael On site and Lisa in the office made everything easy for us. We have had a few things claimed under warranty after moving in but again this has been dealt with quickly and professionally.

Excellent customer service
Very professional and cooperative people. Overall a good experience of building our Home by Burbank. The only problem was the site supervisors changed 2 times during construction. We requested variations in the pan even after the contract signing which were taken into account by the New home coordinator Danielle Riosa and were done without any extra charges which are great. She is really professional and has been very supportive throughout the building process.

Pay for a building inspector.
Built home in 2010, and since then had them out for warranty works several times. Lack of proper inspections need to be worked on. Discovered after 4 years that shower drain wasn't connected properly, only found it when I had cupboard inserts installed. They did fix drain and damaged plaster but expected me to chase up carpenters to send them a quote, and warranty guy refused to replace carpet that was wet from waste water. Front gutter on veranda and a back gutter leaking and still not resolved. Just found the gutter problem in the back and f...Read more
lashing wasn't lined up properly causing leak out of gutter. Front veranda still have no idea what's causing it. Basic inspections need to be checked because it cause bigger issues in the future, which cost us home owners more money and time to resolve these issues. The experience is great.
Though the process took quite long than expected, we are still satisfied with the service. We understand that sometimes the council may delay the process due to technical stuff, however Burbank homes always keep us updated and ensure that they will follow up with our request. The design selection process is very enlightening as we learn a lot on how we can get the best and most practical solution to our family needs.

They are pretty good but after handover I have seen not much support when you need it.like I have few issues after handover but seems no body cares.there inspectors won’t approve your minor issues by giving some points which we don’t even know about.
They will just make some reason by saying you’re contract doesn’t say this or that..
Very hard to deal,me personally I was thinking to build my investment property with burbank after building my first home with them,but the way they are going after handover I now feel that I should be looking for another builder.

Re: Job 13923 in Point Cook.
Our house took 18 months to compete with 4 site supervisors and issue after issue after issue.
There are pending defects that need to be rectified as per PCI during handover and the site supervisor is not showing much interest. I asked the leftover hard rubbish to be removed which was simply dumped on the opposite vacant block so I had to have it removed at my own expense because the don’t want neighbours to think that we are illegally dumping rubbish.
Could you please assist us in rectifying pending defects so it does not affect our review to be left soon on this website? Thanks

Thanks for the prompt reply. The defects are not part of the maintenance but they are items the PCI and during handover they are also noted on the PCI sheet and the site supervisor was suppose to fix them. Warranty team will knock it back and will advise me to follow up with the site supervisor. This is our second house with Burbank and I am aware of the processes. Could you please follow up with the constructions manager? We are really frustrated coz we are just stuffed around by Burbank and there is no one who is helping us. We waited 18 months for the house and we are still chasing Burbank to fix the defects, it is disappointing.
